21st December 2012

Zanham what are you going to do in 12 hours? Which time zone did Jesus think was the most righteous? Did you know it's already 9pm something in Israel? What are you now going to do in 3 hours? Was Jesus for or against Leap Years and the Julian calendar? Why would Jesus end the world before his birthday bonanza on the 25th?

i just...i just don't get it. why can't Zanham just give it up? like,is he actually UPSET that the world didn't end? upset that he DIDN'T die??!!

pretty soon it'll be the world ends tomorrow,on the 23rd. then the 25th,cause it's Christmas ( which isn't actually the original, correct date for X-Mas anyway, since the Romans changed it). then,of course, New Year's is coming up - Apocalypse time, baby!! February brings Valentine's Day,a personal "End of the World" for people who get dumped around then. and,of course, Spring brings the real, original Christmas,so there's another contender!! how about President's Day?

The Bible says that nobody knows the day or the hour. Therefore, both the Mayans and Zanham are wrong.

(Though I admit, I was kinda nervous about 12/21/2012. I didn't think it would be the apocalypse, I was more nervous about some catastrophe happening, due to stuff like the economy, Korea or some natural disaster like a tsunami, or devastating bit of weather..)

Also, according to the Bible, a lot of stuff is supposed to go down before "The End" You're not gonna just wake up one day and it's all over. The end days, I think, are supposed to last for a few years. There's gonna be a false prophet, tribulations for everyone on earth, people will choose either to serve or rebel against God, there will be wrath from Heaven, and more things. THEN Jesus is supposed to return.

I'm not quoting Revelation here, I'm just going by memory. I may be wrong on a few things.
I don't read Revelation very often, because it's.. kinda scary.

yeah, the 7 years of tribulation. the world united by one leader, then 3 1/2 years into it he will be assassinated at the new Temple in Jerusalem, built on the Temple Mount, after he sits on the throne built there and declares himslef as god. after he dies, he will be quickly resurrected as the full-on Anti-Christ, and there will be 3 1/2 years of absolute evil and terror, destruction, disasters, and such before Jesus will come down from Heaven,as a Warrior King this time, and will lead an army into the battle of Armageddon against the Anti-Christ and the False prophet. they will be defeated and thrown into a pit, along with Satan. Jesus will rule in peace on Earth as King for 1,000 years before the Anti-Christ and Satan reemerge from this pit, where they will be finally destroyed. the God will bring everyone who has ever lived throughout history before him and judge them on the appropriately named "Judgement Day" . the faithful and good will live on forever in Heaven. the wicked and sinful will be cast into the lake of fire for all eternity.

needless to say, from a Christian/Catholic point of view, NONE of this stuff has even begun to happen.

According to Revelations, he's supposed to return with another herald of God. Two will come together to sound the trumpet of the new world.

The Islamic view adds a couple more signs - things like worldwide earthquakes, etc.

The Baha'i view recognises it as the end of the old world and the beginning of a new one, having two Manifestations of God coming - one to send off the old world, and one to begin the new one, with a new religious book updating certain things (like the declaration of Equality of Men/Women and all races, etc). Funny little note, there was a record high amount of earthquakes at the time, and the night that all of this started, the first telegraph was received; "What hath God wrought!" marking the beginning of the age of Technology and Information.

That's my view on the end of the world. We go through cycles; once we get some sort of crazy teleportation device, I'd consider that the beginning of a new world.

Nope. And thus begins the exile of the doomsday nuts, whom will disappear back underneath their rocks from where they originated.

Oh you Christians and your Revelations!

Still persisting that Christ will come back eventually and we'll all be doomed to a fiery end. I feel sorry for the people who's entire life is filled with fear of this 'event' taking place.

actually, TRUE Christians should not fear this event. it's meant to be the saving of all true believers in the end, even if you die during it,your soul is saved. so,personally,i don't look upon it with dread, nor do i fear it or spend my entire life thinking about it. i just live my life the best i can and do stuff like i normally do,hoping my faith will be enough to save me.

people who don't believe in Christ, and all this, that's fine. we're not going to beat it over your heads that "The End is Coming" ,and that Nibiru is gonna crash into us, or the Galactic Center was gonna swallow us up on the 21st, or the Cheetah-People Army is coming to eat us. Hell, there's no actual date given for Christianity's End Times to begin. could happen tomorrow. could happen 1,000 years from now. or never. so don't let anyone tell you they know when it will start to happen. NO ONE DOES!

also,it's almost 8:00 Am here on the 23rd.... where's Zanham? i wanted to see some Manimals!!!

I always thought that some of the stories in the Bible shouldn't be taken literally and more metaphorically

I've always thought that anyone considering to "serve God" when the end happens is a bastard and a traitor, considering that God in that scenario is apparently going to kill and destroy everything and everyone else. I'm not usually one to support ideas of community, but to sell out your neighbor like that is truly ****ed up.

I just think anyone who believes in 'Revelations' is as delusional and idiotic as anyone who believed in the now disproven Mayan crap. Putin had it right. The world will end when the sun flames out in about 4.5 billion years.

But the bible.... that's 100% right, huh? lol okay dokay.

There's nothing in Revelations that's as scary as what a climatologist will tell you about global warming.
