Is Cillian Murphy gonna be in this?
Nope. No one from the first film will appear in the sequel. However Naomie Harris was asked about it when doing press for
Miami Vice if she was going to come back as Selena and she said she didn't know, but was open to the idea of doing a sequel if they asked her to come back (this isn't the exact words she said, but it was around those lines).
Fox Atomic has also made available a bit more footage from the offical
28 Weeks Later trailer on their official website. The scene where Robert Cartyle is running away from a crowd of the Infected is also in the trailer, although there have been some new scenes as well. There are also scenes of the U.S. army is bombing some areas of the UK (probably to eliminate the traces of the virus), a man pushing a dead car through a dusty street with his shirt pulled up over his nose and mouth, the two kids in the car covering their mouths as well and a few other split-second glimpses.
And judging by the new footage, I think that the new way how the virus spreads is by air (could be something else, so I don't think it's a spoiler yet) because the kids in the car are masking their mouths and noses. So it could've evolved from blood containmination to airborne virus... which logically makes it much more urgent. A logical explanation for the virus running rampant again, in my opinion.
I also like the way how the sequel is shot, in actual 35mm film in the wider 2.40:1 ratio. I like the first film and know it was trying to be documentary-like, but to be frank it looked like crap. The sequel looks much more slicker and refined, while still conveying the "you-are-there" mentality of the first.
