The Avengers 3 Things you WORRY about happenining in the Avengers...

When I was watching Captain America I couldn't help but think that Thor could easily have handled everything Cap and the howling commandos faced :)

My biggest gripe about the new avengers cartoon (which I otherwise really like) is that Hulk was written very inconsistently, sometimes powerful and yet at other times he went down way to easily.

Hopefully the movie will manage to make it believable that individuals with such differing power levels actually need each other without resorting to de-powering the most powerful heroes.

Short fight scenes
Having too much dependence on Thor ... I wanna see everyone equally taking on Loki and anyother threat they may face.. they may not do as good but have them at least try and put up a decent fight
Characters fading into the backround... especially blackwidow giving her one little fightscene

Nah, I think more would get accomplished during the final battle if The Avengers spread out and stick to what each member is best suited for and Thor is best suited to fight Loki.

Well he is one of the most powerful members of a race of extra-dimensional beings, so what do you expect?

I agree

Althought Thor was written even more inconsistently than Hulk in A:EMH, in one episode he slows down the entire Manhattan island and in another episode he gets swatted around like a fly (smh).

They were trying to hard to make it seem like everyone was on the same level, Justice League had that problem as well in the first season (Superman was WAY underpowered).

Wow, since the movie was released so many loved Loki, i went out of the cinema not loving him as much as others did. He's cool but not GOD, ok, tecnhnically he's a god but he wasn't that amazing

From reading the new news that came out today, another thing that's starting to worry me is that this is going to be too much of a SHIELD movie and not so much an Avengers movie.

Hopefully by the end of the movie the team tells Fury to f- off and become their own team.

This

Most of my concerns come from Joss Whedon as a competent director. This guy is only slightly more competent at getting things done than Terry Gilliam.

1. Avengers actually being a "countdown to a letdown."
2. Joss Whedon and "Whedon Speak." "So are you like the Captain of America or something? Neato, grab me the thingamajig next to the thingy on the table."
3. Robert Downey Jr. saying "Uhhh yeah" a lot.

Being mainly baised on the Ultimates instead of the original
Shabby CGI (
Skrulls,
Hulk ect
Black Widdow turning out to be a traitor (Ultimates) therefore no female Avengers being left

one thing i find crucial to this film is the fight scenes
obviously the entire crew is focusing on it but i worry that it will be long but sloppy and bland....
hopefully the trailer next week changes my mind

The movie being too Stark-centric, like the X-films did with Wolvie.

The Avengers all sounding like smart-alecky Buffy characters.

A runtime that doesnt allow for all of the characters to be properly fleshed out. (This is my biggest concern because, lets face it, unless this thing's like 4 hours long, some characters are gonna get very little to actually, y'know... Do)

Some characters being thrusted forward while other characters remain underdeveloped. I would hate to see the likes Black Widow and Hawkeye basically being included for the sake of it, and written carlessly. I want to see all of the Avengers being badass, having good amounts of screen time and a fair share of action scenes. It would be a pity to see anyone shoved to the side, especially when all of the characters are extremely rounded in the comics.

That's really my only main concern at the moment.

I'm pretty sure Hawkeye and Black Widow are gonna have a good amount of screentime with several shining moments.

That's fantastic.*

Other than that, I think everything sounds pretty good at the moment. I can't really see the script/acting being indescribably horrible and I think that if they can get the team interactions right then about a quarter of the battle's been won.

*Oh, and Maria Hill, she's the other problem for me. I can't explain why but I can't stand her comic counterpart, hopefully the movie-verse convinces me otherwise. But that's a personal thing rather than something that's going to ruin the film for audiences world wide.

I've written this on another thread but I will reiterate it here.

The main worry for me is that they will not go all out on the action sequences. I have loved all the MARVEL studios films so far but I have felt that, with the exception of TIH, they tend to hold back on the action sequences and/or make them too short.

With THE AVENGERS this CANNOT happen. They cannot make this movie with a mentality of well we don't want to go too all out because we have the main threat coming in the sequels.

This movie has to go ALL OUT IN THE ACION SEQUENCES. As someone appropriately said in another thread the action sequences in this movie need to make those of TF3 look like a student film. The intensity needs to be ramped up and have you constantly on the edge of your seat. They need to be long. The VFX needs to be consistently mindblowing. They need to be epic in scale. At the end of this movie vewers, fans and the GA alike, need to arguing excitedly about who was the most spectacular badass character, CAP or IM or THOR or HULK or HE or BW.

This movie CANNOT come across as a trailer or a build up for another movie.

The only interesting character interactions in First Class were Erik and Charles.

Thats better than X3 which had....well no interesting character interactions.

I'm starting to worry about this being more of a "Avengers and SHIELD" film myself. I get the fact that Fury needs to have some legit screen time, but this things going to have to be 4 hours if they plan on giving Thor, Cap, Iron Man, Hulk, Hawkeye, Black Widow, Nick Fury and the rest of SHIELD big parts without it feeling rushed/crammed.

1. small scale battles, theoretically something big enough that causes them to join needs to be a threat, a real big threat (superman sized threats)

2. lack of chemistry between the actors

3. they gloss over film links for those who haven't stayed till the end ot see the links in all the stories.

4. they come across as really cheesy.

5. human members get sidetracked for the big three (this includes banner who i think will make limited appearances as the hulk throughout).

Completely agree ... I don't want this be a SHIELD film. I would love if the Avengers broke off and became an independent team. Stark funded with ... Avengers Mansion!

Oh yes indeed, I definately agree with this :woot:.

I'm concerned about Feige's recent comments about Hulks physique; what a stupid thing to say. He's not as cut because he's been Hulk for a few years......? How long after TIH does Avengers take place anyway....? I'm guessing no more than a few months max according to the timelime set by the other Marvel movies, so wtf is Feige talking about? In 5 years will hulk be even less cut that he is in Avengers....? Does hulk need to work out in order to keep his definition.....

1. Joss Whedon directing, worries me. He doesn't have big time directing experience and hasn't proven a damn thing to me when it comes to making big time movies.

2. The story may be contrived and just plain silly

3. The CGI and SVX will be over the top and just look to fake.

1. Weak plot due to so many characters
2. Hulk being thrown in the background
3. This is kind of with #1, but the plot taking a backseat to the action.

Pretty much my worries. I think this is a chance for Hulk to shine, but I'm afraid he is not going to get that chance.

Hulk's had two films and SEVERAL media appearances (he beats up everyone in most of them), he's had plenty of chances to shine.

I think he's gonna have just as many moments to shine as Thor, Cap, and Iron Man. If we know anything by now, it's that Marvel LOVES the Incredible Hulk.

Whedon is really my biggest worry about the film. He is the wild card here, a writer/director who has more experience with the small screen and small budgets. I can't say that I trust his instincts when it comes to a project of this scale. However, I would have said the same about Favreau, Leterrier and Johnston before their respective turns at the helm of Marvel films and I would have been absolutely wrong. Marvel seems to have a knack for matching the director to the project perfectly, so I am willing to muster up my faith that they have pulled it off again with The Avengers.

I have to agree with this, I love Whedon as much as the next Buffy/Angel/Firefly/Dollhouse/DrHorrible lover, but yeah, big budget Whedon scares me because:

No budget Buffy: Great fun pop-culture filled story about teenage girl figthing vampires.
Unlimited Comic-Book Budget Buffy: Depressing non-character driven stories with Dragons, fairies and absolutely no sense of reality about the burden of being superpowered.
