1. Short Runtime : The more the merrier in my book. They are going to have to introduce the recruitment of Banner, and Thor. Thor will need some decent exploration of how they get him back to Earth.

3. Cheese Factor : I want a serious tone and no camp. Leave the humor to RDJ

Humor =/= cheesiness. There IS going to be humor in this movie, humor is present in even the most epic movies. The trick is to find the balance, Star Trek is the perfect example of this, that's the tone I want for the Avengers.

2. Pairing Cap and Black Widow. Put her with Hawkeye in this, it's faithful to early comics and will prevent any "Sloppy Seconds" awkwardness when they bring back Bucky.
3. No epic coda after the credits. Maybe have a Hank Pym cameo in the movie as a SHIELD scientist, and have Ultron go online.

I have to agree with ALL of the concerns listed.
Chief among them for me is:
1. Turn down the cheezy factor - Play up to adult fans, not the kiddies
2. An appropriate runtime - 2+ hours, at least.
3. A solid, believeable plot is essential! Storytelling should come first, then action and effects.


P.S. - What's with all the Coulson concerns? Do you guys know something that I don't?

1. Run time- needs to be long. This is an event film
2. Action scenes- they need to be interesting. and not just hero vs hero
3. Villains- i want the world to actually be threatened by the villains.

1. Weak script & lack of character development, which could be problematic in this movie which fills with so many characters
2. Hulk not looking great next to other Avengers (and both Ang Lee's Hulk and TIH have had CGI problems)
3. Forced, weak humors that elicit more groans than laughters. Don't play for jokes, but rather have humorous moments that get its funny bones naturally

1. Too short a run-time. It doesn't have to be as long as a 2-and-a-half hour Christopher Nolan Batman epic (although if they can do that and still have it be a kickass movie, go ahead), but it definitely shouldn't just be a 112-minute Incredible Hulk or Thor.

2. One of the Avengers (especially one of the main Avengers) is revealed to have been a Skrull and/or been enchanted by Loki the entire time. If it's a quick scene (like, if the Avengers get separated during a fight) and we have a "There are two Captain Kirks!" situation, that's fine, but I don't want it to be like "The Black Widow was a Skrull the entire time!"

3. Iron Man by far isn't in it as much as the others. (There was a rumor that Downey had far less days filming then the rest of the cast, but it's thought that that is more of the fact that he really doesn't need to be there if he's in the Suit, since he can just do the voice-over)

Extra Credit: Not many easter eggs, or the easter eggs that are included are incredibly forced.

2. Not enough screentime for BW and Hawkeye
3. Too campy, too cheesy. I want it to be a serious film with humor, like Iron Man and TIH

For me it's rumors combined with Whedon's track record that have caused concerns about Coulson's fate. The SHIELD agent's apparent position as Marvel's King of All Media has somewhat allayed my concerns.

The big 4 wouldnt die (HUlk may go evil idk), Fury or HIll wouldnt die, BW or Hawkeye wouldnt die (BW could go evil but I doubt it). So that really only leaves my man Coulson

For those concerned with character development in regards to runtime, watch Serenity. You have 7 major leads/heroes in that movie, with 3 minor roles. All were fleshed out and done well and given their fair share of screentime. Plus the villian(s) of the movie were given very pure motivation and shown as a threat, the final action piece was amazing and long with real consequences. All that in a movie that's 2 hours and shot on a shoestring budget. I totally trust Joss Whedon to do this movie, either him or JJ Abrams were the most obvious choices for the job. I'm really not worried at all, I think the movie is in great hands.

rotten tomatoes doesn't change my concerns at all.

anyway. marvel knows what they are doing. so I fully trust them.

Well, I completely disagree with you there. I thought Serenity was amazing and saw it before watching Firefly, Buffy and Angel. I definitely watched all three after seeing the movie though. I think Whedon's a great storyteller and definitely knows how to work with a large cast.

see, there's a difference between being a good storyteller and a good director. Ask George Lucas, he might know something about that.
I won't disagree that Whedon is a good storyteller. The overall arc of Buffy was acceptable and the premise of Dollhouse, well, kind of good. As a director however, Whedon has weak spots. A lot of people, mostly Whedon fans, tend to ignore them, because it doesn't fit their views.

1. Bland and tired action sequences/too many boring moments/boring moments that just go on and on and on and on and on/too much set up
2. Lame new villain or new villains that are introduced in the Marvel Cinematic universe
3. A movie version of Thanos that turns out to be a major let down (in case he is going to really be in the movie)/too much focus on a character or characters that I didn't come to see
