5.09 Lexmas (Spoilers)

I think his turn to evil will have something to do with this information he gets that could destroy Jonathan. Maybe he uses it to win the campaign, thus turning Clark against him forever....

That's the strange thing. Because Jonathan is still in the race in the next two episodes, and in "Lockdown" Lex tells his campaign manager that J. is squeaky clean. Unless ALL the spoilers they're releasing are fake now!

Like I said Lex can find out about the Adoption with Clark & how Lionel set it up. I can NOT see Jonathan having a "Dark" Past

In Lineage was it, he said that he convinced the Ross's to sell the Cream Corn Factory, maybe, although I hope not, its something along those lines.

Personally, I would rather see it have something to do with the adoption.

That was the deal Lionel made. He said convince the Ross's to sell or he would have made public the fake Adoption papers. It would certainly stir things up if Lex found out made all evidence about it public. If that can NOT get Clark & Lex mortal enemies then nothing will.

I'm looking forward to Lexmas, I read somewhere on the web, that something Big is going to happen in this Episode that will change the course of the series forever. I can't wait to see what it is. Not to mention I love that preview clip of Lexana. I can't believe I'm saying this, But for the first time (in smallville)I actually liked Lana lang . she seem so nice & sweet and beautiful with Lex and thier son Alex along with her baby .

But the vision has a cruel twist that convinces Luthor to embrace the dark path he has approached during the five seasons of "Smallville." The story is clearly the catalyst for Luthor becoming the enemy of his best friend and future Superman, Clark Kent (Tom Welling).

I can't wait to see what this is . After this episode Lex begins his Journey towards "The Dark Side" . Man I'm a hyped up for this episode. I hope the reason for his turn is not over a woman. (I don't want Lex to join The Dark Side , because of a woman, I want it to be a very good deep reason , Why Lex choose to live a live of evil, when he had a change to live a live of Good .)

I think it's going to be something along the lines of Lana cheats on him with Clark. And it's not going to necessarily be over a woman. Lex has a tendency of looking for love in all the wrong places. He will finally realize that nobody loves him, no matter how much he tries, and just say to hell with it.
Hey, isn't this supposed to be a holiday episode!? :) I'm depressing the hell out of me over here. :(

I keep hearing talk about people expecting Lex to "turn Evil" and it just doesnt sit right with me.

There isnt going to be some life changing event that happens to Lex, and all of a sudden one day he's laughing maniacally, twisting his moustache, and tieing Lois to railroad tracks. This isnt pre-crisis Lex, or Lex from the Superfriends either, where he's going to be committing crimes just for the sake of committing crimes. It's going to be an accumulation of things over time that contort his sense of what's right and wrong on things.

Lex will, for the most part, be a man with a very skewed perspective on reality, due to a huge ego and suspect upbringing, who does things he believes to be in the best interests of those involved but namely himself. Most of the time he'll employ means that are less than honorable trying to achieve them. I think Smallvillle gave us some big time clues to that effect in episodes like "Talisman" and "Onyx". However he wont be as "obvious" as the bad Lex in Onyx was, he was more like the Joker the way he acted without the cool, calm Lex to keep him in check.

Thats probably the best take on Lex I've seen a in awhile. There isnt going to be some light switch..he's not Anakin..its definitely a subtle but clear (at least to me) journey, and it's made his character more layered and far more interesting than even Gene Hackman's Luthor

I think its a turning point for his and Clark's relationship.

Something happens in the dream that makes him view their relationship in a different light.

Remember in the legend that Sageeth turned on Naman one day, as did the two comic book dudes (cant remember their names, Warrior Angel was one of them).

I think that this is what is going to happen in this episode.

By the way I like your interpretation of Lex's character as well.

Lex's final turn should never ever be a lightswitch kinda thing. That's actually why I was glad they backtracked after his Onyx-like portrayal in Aqua b/c it just didn't seem realistic how quickly he had changed. In the past few episodes we've seen that Lex is still sorta in the middle, and hopefully this episode won't be so much a drastic change as it is one more step into the dark side. Isn't it ironic that this dream is going to have a completely opposite effect on him? I never expected it. I actually thought this would lead him back toward the good side only for it to blow up in his face or something...but I guess not.

I agree with Hulk but I do believe there will be a "last straw" event that will be the final nail in the coffin, the one that will make him want to forget he ever lived in SV, that he knows Clark or anybody from the town etc.
Maybe it will be killing Lionel, maybe it will be something else. Maybe it will be that he can't stand CLark's betrayal (since he himself said it was his friendship that kept his dark side in check) once he finds out who he really is. Or just like in some comics where there's a fire in LexCorp and Superman tried to save him or something and there is where he vows to never return to SV...

I agree with this. Lex has been sliding into his bad self from day one, but I do think they'll have at least one, maybe more, events that really seal the deal for us as viewers. I've often wondered if they will have him kill Lionel, just as Lionel killed his parents... A fine Luthor family tradition.

Man, am I hanging out for this episode or what?

Is it 8.00 there yet folks?

34 minutes and counting.... I was off from work today so it's felt about 20 trimes longer than a normal Smallville Thursday :)

:O Hope you're not sick.

I'm not sure whether to stay in here tonight or leave. I usually just zip through and take a quick glance, but I dunno. Guess I'll find out soon. :D

12 minutes and counting. :)

I was panicking just a bit ago. I took my daughter to dance school and was racing to get back in time. We're having a snowstorm and of course, I get behind some southern transferee who's never driven in snow before apparently. :D
20mph, when SV is about to start is just NOT acceptable. ;)

That'd be me. :D

I'm still here and I guess you've got 3 minutes to go. Not much happening here tonight, so I'll probably be still lurking.
