is that Kraven's last hunt? I just got the graphic novel the other day, been meaning to get hold of it for ages. :csmile:

It's easily one of the greatest sotries of the 1980's along with Nothing Can Stop The Juggernaut, Death of Jean DeWolfe, etc.

KLH and the Juggernaut story are overrated imo, I like Juggernaut's story more

Personally, I think they are both fantastic. Nothing Can Stop The Juggernaut really put Spidey to the test.

Wow I loved this issue, definately one of my favorite stories of all time

And it cemented Kraven as one of Spidey's greatest Villains.

Ironically, according to DeMatteis himself, no one seemed to care at the time that J.M. DeMatteis was going to kill off Kraven. Afterwards, people said, "How could you kill off Kraven?"

Interesting note: According to Wikipedia, Todd McFarlane was responsible for Venom's teeth and claws. David Michelinie's basic idea for Venom's appearance was "a big guy in the black suit". McFarlane said, "I just wanted to make him kooky and creepy, and not just some guy in a black suit."

I have a hard time imagining how different things would be for Venom if McFarlane hadn't added those features.

I watched him in cartoons first, saw this comic and was angry Dematties killed him

Flash Thompson? Bulkier Peter Parker

I think he was mainly talking from his personal experience.

Possibly. I'm having a hard time imagining how it might have affected the character's popularity. Would he have been as popular as he is if he didn't have his teeth and claws?

Kraven's Last Hunt is a great story that really explores it's characters, and one that's hard to forget. I think it really got people to take Kraven seriously as a villain.

Spider, spider burning bright! In the forests of the night what immortal hand or eye could frame thy fearful symmetry?
