Actually, he kinda makes sense to me.

In his view, its right that they reset batgirl because its bringing babs back to what she's "supposed to be". IHO, her true legacy is being brought back.

Meanwhile, Action, Tec, and Batman are being rebooted, which means their "true" legacy is gone.

"True" legacy is an individualized projection akin to fans crying about what they don't like.

That the canon of what has been written before is a part of the mythos and recognized indicates the character's legacy.

Considering Batman and Detective Comics will once again show Bruce as the "one and true" Batman and the only one under the cowl, aren't they reclaiming Batman's "true" legacy as well? Oh no, because boohoo, they're being relaunched and the big numbers will be absent. Oh heavens to betsy, cry and cry s'more.

Exactly, I'm not sure how you really preserve a legacy by erasing or denying a large part of it and reinstating the earlier legacy holder. That's regression, not preservation.

And if someone is too lazy to jump into a current co,mc, then once the hype dies down, they will, just as quickly, leave the comic they are following. It's a line-wide relaunch of #1s, the entirety of a new publication direction for a company that's trying to change the economy of a wonderful medium that has seen better days. There needs to be a "good" reason? What makes it a "bad" reason? Either it strengthens the market, or it doesn't - but it doesn't weaken the market, and it doesn't weaken DC.

From a strict sales perspective, there's no point in arguing that a #1 sells more comics than a ## or ### or ####.

Why are you so upset? Your tears of misfortune taste like sweet nectar. But stop crying.

I agree with everything else you've said, though not as angrily I've sort of gotten over it, **** relaunches all the time at least DC hasn't launched most of the ones I care about 18 different times like Marvel has with Cap or Iron Man, but it was never said that we're going back to one earth, not anywhere.

I'm excited for this, even though it seems to be getting a lot of hate. I've been lost with Batman since I became a fan in 2005 (outside of collected volumes and graphic novels), so I'm happy I have a chance to make a fresh start with the character and buy actual issues.

I'm going to give Green Arrow and Green Lantern a try, too. I like the limited exposure I've had to Green Arrow, and Green Lantern was always too vast for me to jump into. So, I'll see how that goes to start. Suicide Squad is a maybe as well.

I actually plan to reduce considerably the amount of comics. This whole new direction (new but not so new) is beyond me.
So, only one Sure: Aquaman.
Some GL stuff, I suppose, including red lanterns. Action comics.
And maybe the very first issues of the JL, for the art.

For me I am really looking forward to the OMAC series. The Kirby Idea redone and re imagined. A character differet extremely powerful big strong. I am going to give it a very good chance cause its the only book DC will have that might be somewhat Hulk like. I will also pick up some of the other #1s while at the comicshop.

I said this a while ago, but the more i looked at the solicitations, the more books I want. I'm definitely getting Aquaman and Green lantern corps for more than 1 issue. and one of the bat titles, whichever is good. Batgirl and Wonder Woman for the first issue. Also am really interested to get stormwatch, grifter and deathstroke. Totally going broke this september
