Oliver is also a loudmouth opinionated hippie, Bruce isnt.

Yeah . I hope they stay true to the comic book version of Oliver Queen/Green Arrow character, presonality etc. And not make him too much like Bruce/BATS .

The thing is how would you dramatize that?

Inner turmoil doesn't play as well on TV as it does on Film... (Well, it doesn't always play well on film, unless you're in an arthouse flick anyway) but his struggles to control his abilities have to externalized in some way.

Having someone else there to "help" him is someone else there for him to play off of so we can better see how the problem was solved... And a scene with him working with someone else is far more dynamic than him struggling to do something on his own.

Am I making sense?

I think you see the thought processes of him working it out a lot better when he's in conflict with someone else during a scene than if he were just in conflict with himself. They can talk about it while he works it out.

Would you rather him have him talking to himself as he worked the problem out?

Okay, I don't know about you but that sounds WAY boring.

In comics that might work okay because you can have his thoughts in little balloons in the panel... How would that work on TV? Talking to himself sounds like deadly dull TV to me.

And it's not really the way Clark works anyway... he rarely talks to himself to work through problems. He's more of a brute force kinda guy.

Blowing the door down is not a solution he might have thought up on his own otherwise, it's a more subtle solution than just tearing a hole in the wall, so I think Chloe helping him is well motivated and makes sense within the context of how differently their minds work.

Also it's just a much more dynamic scene the way they did it...

Anyway, it doesn't bother me at all...

*shrug*

Let me ask you something in "Zod" When Clark returned from Phantom Zone, did he run to Metropolis to Chloe to find a way to stop Zod ? [like he did in "Vessel" to Chloe to ask for help to stop the computre virius.]

NO he Went on his own and confronted General Zod by himself [even throught Zod is much more powerful kryptonian, than Clark.] Something SUPERMAN would do.

I don't mind Chloe being their to help him go undercover, but to help him to use and control a new Super power, I Do mind .

so i guess you minded when Jonathan and Martha helped him control X-Ray and Heat Vision and Hearing? right? that's what you're saying?

Clark was still a very immature boy so, I didn't mind his parents helping him gain control of his emerging super powers. But clark is an adult now, he should be able to figure it out on his own how to gain control of this new super power.

well if you sneezed and blew up a barn, would you automatically associate it with the ability to blow things open?
occasionally you need someone else to get the juices flowing, and Lana has the IQ of a flying squirrel and Lois is....Lois, so of course Chloe will do it

I'd know I have a new super power, so the answer is "Yes".

Hey if Peter Parker could figure out and learn to control of his super spider powers [Spider-Strength,Super Speed,Wall-Crawling,Spider-Sense,webbing & Websling] without the help of anyone. Then why can't clark Kent learn to control and see the limts of his super powers on his own ?

More than likely, Clark never sneezed before in his life, so he might not associate sneezing with cold breath.

Off topic, why didn't Clark blow up his apartment when he was sick in Superman IV Quest for Peace?

Cool - "Director's Cut" from Sneeze on the CW site:

*spoilers* And it does show him using the new ability. :)

Annoyingly, it takes SuperChloe to show him how. :whatever:

A bit of Ollie on the tape too.

very cool, cant wait to see what it looks like when the FX work is done

you actually watched that movie?
lol

Apparently a new trailer was released, that was fast, hope it gets online soon, from TWoP:

ETA #2: Last edit, I promise. Someone on my FL saw a new trailer for Sneeze where Clark sneezes, blows a bunch of stuff around, and Chloe responds: "Gesundheit." Hopefully it'll pop up online soon.

I thought he was pretty good in that scene.

Oliver Queen seemed different. I love how they are playing up the mystery of this character. Is he a good guy? Is he a bad guy?- in terms of where he stands in the series- for those who don't know information from the spoilers. Seriously reminded me of Lex in that scene.

Agreed.

That's a different thing.... It's more of an active thing.

I am not explaining myself well, I'm sure, but the struggle to control a power is more of an intellectual and a more subtle thing.

Beating up Zod is purely physical and doesn't require any dialogue to understand.

Also, the source of conflict within that scene you refer to is far more clear. It's beat up Zod or die.

The conflict in the scene with trying to open the wall is far more subtle.... He's sick and too weak to open the wall with his normal default of using brute strength. It's a scene that probably needs dialogue to understand.

Again, would you rather he talk to himself while he worked through the problem? I sure wouldn't.

*shrug*

I still don't see a problem with it. It's a cute scene.

yeah, this isn't the comics...if someone talks to themself, it's just weird

I just watched that clip again and it appears that it was Ollie that set up Lex's kidnapping. Hmmm....... interesting.

I just saw another trailer on TV, and there is a scene between Lana and ? (I'm assuming Clark) because she says "you cant keep secrets when Lex's life is in danger".

Oh dear??

Why would Lana start talking to Clark again or vice-versa? Must be someone else, and the "you can't keep secrets when Lex's life is in danger" line could be referring to her own secrets.

I hope you're right. Its just that you can see there is someone else in the picture and she's looking up.

I just dont want them to revert Lana back to ALL THAT again. Let her move on and deal with stuff in a different way.

Didn't Kreuk say she isn't working with Tom that much anymore? In all the stills and clips that we've seen until now, Clark is with Chloe.. and Jimmy.

"Dad's gone, I can't talk to Lex, Lana is.. I don't know where to go from here".

She's definitely with someone else lol.

But is there anybody else that she could possibly be talking about "keeping screts" with other than Clark?

I honestly don't know, Lex is kidnapped, so I don't know maybe she went to Clark so he would try to save him or Clark went to her to know more about what happened to Lex.

But no, thinking again, there's Lionel for that, we've seen him talking to Clark about Lex in the trailer.

Well if it is Clark I just hope he replies with a "the trouble that Lex gets himself into has nothing to do with me". :yay:
