Looks like WB is repeating the prologue strategy from The Dark Knight.
Discuss!

/film are reporting (and say they are confirming from Independent sources and exhibitors) that a six minute prologue to The Dark Knight Rises will be attached to all IMAX prints of Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol that opens exclusively on IMAX Dec. 16th in the U.S.

It then opens wider to include non-IMAX theatres five days later on Dec. 21st and then we don’t get the film until Dec. 26th in the UK. But whenever you do get to see MI:4 it will include the first six minutes of the most anticipated film in living memory.

Lol, agreed. It won't happen in the prologue but it'll happen (hopefully).

It's only right to post it on the new thread.

Actually, to fully recover from a spinal injury (especially when its broken) takes a LONG TIME! Sometimes more than 8 years. Don't forget in a lot of cases, people become terminally paralyzed from the waist down, or end up like christopher Reeves. I think Bruce should consider himself lucky he can actually walk again.

I'm going to make the assumption that this will not be a full-on spinal cord injury, which would paralyse him, but just some shattered vertebrae, and some other broken bones thrown in for good luck. That takes him out of action but means he can be able to return after 3 months of keeping still without the use of magic or sci-fi medicine.

Sheesh... 3 weeks is starting to feel like forever for some reason.

I mentioned this in the last thread but I thought it'd be good to say again

Above in the link/quote Brian has put it states the UK release is the 26th, but there are also advanced screenings on the 21st thru to 24th (atleast at Odeon Manchester ther is anyways)

Australia is getting an advanced screening of M:I-4 on Dec. 14th. The Prologue will be attached.

SPECIAL SCREENING OF THE DARK KNIGHT RISES PROLOGUE
IMAX Darling Harbour will be one of a select group of IMAX theatres to show the 6 minute prologue of The Dark Knight Rises in full screen IMAX prior to each screening of Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol.

The Director of The Dark Knight Rises, Christopher Nolan, told the British film magazine Empire this week that the prologue is "basically the first six, seven minutes of the film" and will serve as "an introduction to Bane, and a taste of the rest of the film."

Starts 14 December. Tickets on sale now.

I wonder if Nolan will screen the prologue in early December for a select group just like he did for TDK. It was about a week before I Am Legend's IMAX release.

A bat-crazy friend of mine already booked tickets for us to see MI4 at IMAX in London. Going to be so pissed if the prologue isn't shown. It's the main reason we're going. Didn't see the TDK trailer once in regular cinemas. Don't know what it is over here in the UK.

Latest prologue description:

A military convoy drives through a jungle when all of the sudden a bomb goes off. It's bane and he fights them, manipulating small joints and snapping heads off. (He looks HUGE, Nolan used CGI to give him muscles.) Soon theyre all dead, except for a pregnant woman who was standing there. Bane rips out her spinal cord.

Bane: Now no one in the whole world can stop me, physically or mentally. (Nolan also changed his old-man voice in post to more Bane like)

CUT TO Bruce Wayne partying on a boat with grey hair. he gets a phone call. It's Gordon.

Gordon: Batman, you've been gone for 8 years, but now a new villain is here, he's calling himself Bane.

Bruce: Thank you. I guess its time for The Dark Knight to rise.

:lmao: Worst one yet. Though I think whoever wrote it was being sarcastic.

Darkhunt that was 100% a joke. It was not meant to be taken seriously. The OP was just having a laugh.

Besides we all know the prologue will be the football scene. :)

LOL! Even funnier is a few people here would prob love that fake prologue.

Too bad if we do get descriptions from Australia, they will all look like this:
