This is a continuation thread, the old thread is [split]373703[/split]
Yeah cause the character was obviously supposed to be lie James Bond, suave, smart and debonair. He totally ruined the role.
To me it's amplified when the extravagant extras and dialog don't exist outside of Nolan's comic book films. I find it interesting how all his characters in his "normal" projects act very natural, from the main cast to the insignificant side role. I can only surmise it's to highlight the comic book tone in an otherwise serious movie.High standards. If Nolan can get great actors to do great jobs in the main roles, then people expect the rest of the acting in the films to be at least serviceable.
There was nothing really that stood out as wrong with his script in my mind. Can you be specific?Because James Bond is the only alternative way to play an agent? No, he was just bad in this. But all blame shouldn't fall on him. He had bad script to work on anyway. And/or bad editing.
By the way, the bad guy with dogs on The Dark Knight is another good example of bad acting.

Also this ^^^I find the Chechen to be an entertaining character. It's not really bad acting. Just something different.
Oh. I thought you were talking about badly written dialogue, not plot holes. To me it was dumb that they wouldn't check who the people under the hoods were, but okay, I can deal with that, maybe that's CIA policy.
But where it goes wrong is when the CIA guy starts to interrogate them. Why would he do it? I would thing that CIA has people for that, and they are not the ones who transfer the prisoners? But okay, this is a movie, maybe that's how it goes, but still... And then was it jsut for his personal curiosity to ask about why Bane wears a mask? Surely CIA would have some clues as to why? Surely asking about the mask isn't the top need to know thing about Bane?
And when he realizes that they have Bane in custody, what does he do? He doesn't call it in, he just asks about the mask. And Bane is suppose to be a big shot wanted criminal/terrorist, no?

Sorry for making you write that all out for nothing...

Because he's an arrogant *****e who is up himself. He's trying to act tough in front of a guy who could punch his head off. That's his (very small) character. It can be debated whether it was portrayed correctly, but it was definitely shown.but why the CIA man keeps asking so loud to Bane, when the door is already closed?
I can understand he speaks loud when the door is open, but why he needs to ask questions so loud when he is so near to the face of Bane?. Bane didn´t speak loud and he also has a mask.
He's scared? Trying to assert his authority? Who knows. Doesn't keep me up at night, to be honest.but why the CIA man keeps asking so loud to Bane, when the door is already closed?
I think Bane will be awesome when we see the whole movie. As much as I love spoilers because I am so excited to see the film, they don't let you appreciate a finished and edited product. Let's wait until next summer to judge this movie.
Read up on some information. Operation Early Bird is "black ops" so everything is Top Secret to avoid a "international incident"
This also would suggest that they had to keep the mask on their heads, he didn't know which one he was going to keep and because of that none of them could risk their identity, in case something happened in the meantime and they the prisoners escaped.
He only takes Bane's mask off because he suspects its Bane.
Plus there is a fear element to it, being hung out of a plane and not being able to see where you are...its scary. Ever been a rollercoaster and closed your eyes? Its as if there's no control, you don't know where you're going next and so you can't prepare your body for the next turn, in turn it all seems a little chaotic and random.
because if they're part of Bane's crew why would he wait til he was back in the U.S. to ask them about Bane who could very much well be in the region?
Honestly I can't believe I'm explaining some of this stuff.
He asks about the mask and then his FIRST line to Bane is:
"If I pull this off will it kill you?"
can't you gleam the reason he asked about the mask from that second line? They're interested in how to stop Bane, they're trying to find a weakness.
Maybe because he understands the futility of it all?
"Was it always your plan to get caught" he asked slightly resigned, probably realizing this has been going more in Bane's favor than his own. He's on a small plane with one of the world's most dangerous terrorist.
Or maybe he couldn't their in a small jet flying in some unknown country.
It's a black ops mission so they didn't bring the hightech invisible jet, so it probably could only do so much.
I hope this answers some of your questions

Oh hey, I think Bane sounds and looks great! I have no problem with him, but I'm not getting my hopes up for this to be as good as The Dark knight. I don't even think that's possible, since my understanding is that David Goyer had something to do with the script.
And the overall story of Dark Knight.oh you mean the same David Goyer who basically thought up all of Batman Begins?
