7 new Spider-Man 3 clips

yes i realise its probably not the 'final' music :P

It is the final music. The film is already finished and there are advance screenings for critics being held already. I can't see anyone writing music for a movie that will be released in 2 1/2 weeks -- well James Newton Howard had five weeks to write and record a replacement score for King Kong, but that's a different story.

Answer the question! :cmad:

It's this made up notion that a third film will typically be bad.

I personally don't believe in it-

But, hey, according to Hollywood something very bad is going to happen to both Welling and Routh...

That's just the nature of Hollywood "curses"

Answer the question! :cmad:

SM3 doesn't fall into the category of a 'trilogy curse', as it seems to be great from all garnered footage and hasn't even been released. People just like to throw that term around to make them feel better about how seriously it's going to dwarf POTC or because they want to bring up something to silence the overwhelming majority (which, unlike what Henrik Ibsen supposed, is right in this case).

Spider Man, in my opinion, is easily the best superhero franchise brought to the big screen. They've done a marvelous job with the trilogy and I can't wait to see the third one.

No way am I watching those new clips! As tempted as I am, I want to see the movie when it actually comes out :D

All reviews so far that mentioned Mary Jane had nothing but good things to say about Dunst's perfomance... plus IMO she looks better in this one than in the past two films  some have also said Gwen was pretty much wasted/useless in this flick, cause she's barely in it. I'm afraid we just saw two of Gwen's more important scenes.
MJ and Gwen are both really good looking characters. MJ is a little hotter than Gwen but that doesn't mean Gwen is not beautiful because she is very beautiful. in acting wise, Kirsten is a great actress and so is Bryce in IMO. MJ does look awesome in this film, she looked very good in the past two films and by the looks of MJ in this film, she looks just as great in the past two films if not better IMO:up:.

Okay, Temp and Chibi, but why do people keep saying SM3 is going to BREAK the curse? Return of the King, Return of the Jedi. Two good to great films that held up their respective trilogies.

If anything, Spider-Man 3 will serve to cement the franchise's place as the most consistent and high quality superhero franchise to date. Sure. But it ain't "breaking" any so-called "trilogy curse". Are people THAT upset over X3 to make these types of claims?

So, I'm wrong even if I'm right?

Is that the vibe I'm getting here?

I really think the Triliogy curse has been broken for sure. ever since back when we got the first photo of Spiey3 which was Sandman and all the other things that were released up until now has without a doubt proven this film will be the best IMO.

oh please, don't post stuff like that! How the hell can you judge how good a movie will be from a production freakin still?!

It's one thing to say the teaser, but you're gonna say the movie is a success based on the first picture from it. Ridiculous.

Sadly....some people still are.

Wait? What is the range of this "trilogy curse"? 'Cause last time I checked, Return of the King was pretty decent.

The "Trilogy Curse" for the most part refers only to movies based on comic books. Till this day, there has been no 3 straight movies about a hero(es) that has satisfied a majority of the fans.

And she's more interesting in those two brief scenes than Dunst is in the first two films.

karea,

I will concede that Dunst does, indeed, look much, much better in this film than the last two, especially part two.

If they wasted Bryce in this film, I'll be sorely disappointed.

As for the "Trilogy Curse", Nolan's Batman Trilogy will be the true, perfect trilogy of this genre.

We could've had it with X-Men but Fox screwed the pooch on that one when they took their sweet time in deciding whether or not they wanted Singer back...a director who literally has delivered a 800 million dollar franchise to your feet, a franchise the studio head didn't believe in in the first place....

well you don't have to start yelling it at me. I had confidence in the film for a long time and I still do. when I saw the first picture of Spidey3 my confidence grew, is that so bad?:o

There's also Superman 3 and Batman Forever.

But both of those films were third in a series of four. So that's not really a trilogy, is it?

When I think trilogy, I think of the common definition of one: a series of three novels, plays, or films. Superman and Batman weren't trilogies. We don't even know if Spider-Man will be one. So how could Spider-Man 3 break the curse of something, when we don't even know if this franchise will be that something?

(Now I'm just confusing myself :hyper:)

I've only seen the Pete VS. Harry fight, because I thought that I already saw everything there is to see in that battle! NOOOOOOOOOT!!!!! There's way more packed into that battle that we didn't see in the 7-MINUTES-PREVIEW-CLIP!!! This can not be denied any more!

I've got to admit though, just after Harry picks up Peter from the scooter and they swing around hitting the building, they zoom in on a quick CLOSE-UP of Peter's face, and even though it's quick, it's pretty obvious that it's CG, it looks exstremely cartoonish!!! I hate that! Wanna know why!??? Because later in the clip just when Harry yells "SHUUUUT UP!", and rips off the wall with Peter still on it, we see MORE NEW STUFF (that wasn't in the 7 minute clip!) where we actually see Peter falling and flipping around along with the debree, trying to stay on it!!!! Right there we zoom in AGAIN where it MUST be CG because they dont change camera angle in that entire shot! However it doesn't look CG at all!!! We see Peter's face when we zoom in, and it looks flawless! Then howcome it has to look that BAD in the shot from the begining of the clip!!! I HATE it!

Otherwice, truely incredible!!

ps. I'm NOT gonna watch the other clips, they are showing WAAAAAAAY too much! It's not a matter of opinion on this very thing, it's a FACT, they ARE showing way too much!!!

Yes, we don't know if the Spidey franchise is going to be a trilogy, either. But, the point is, number 3 in comic book movies is usually a bad one.

Definitely a possibility, but I'd like to see some supporting characters get decent development (ala a Harry Osborn or a Mary Jane Watson).

Well, in that regard, then yes. It'll more than likely break the "Superhero 3rd Movie Curse". Happy now, people? ;)

OMG! Norman!!

So good to see you around again, buddy. It's been a dog's age. I thought you'd completely abandoned ship here.

Which reminds me: I've spotted Slag over in the RT forums. :wow:

i must control myself and NOT watch these clips.

i've seen too much.

may 4th, 12:05am can't come any sooner.

Well, on the matter of the X-Men franchise I don't see it as a true trilogy- just 2 films directed by Singer and a film by Ratner. But speaking in earnest I suppose one would go by the written definition...in any case, regardless of my opinion the same applies. I don't believe nor see merit in "curses". I thought SM2 was under par. There isn't a "second movie curse", that's just my sentiment about it. I just don't believe there is a curse to break. Curses are really morbid labels people use to group together bad movies when the term "bad movie" works well enough as it stands. There isn't a curse on Dead Man's Chest and AWE, nor was there one on the Matrix Reloaded and Revolutions respectively. The latter was a case of bad filmmaking and the former is just under par work (with clemency given to AWE as it may yet be a good film). No curse to be had, just a few people who milked a good idea dry. SM3 doesn't suffer from this mindset.
