Well....Shawn Levy is Directing the Flash

Wow. This is exactly what I'm talking about. I'm not holding my breath.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!! *yells random Curses* Well there goes the good Dark neighborhood & here comes the Family Oriented peice of *&#*@ Neighborhood. Well...Im goint to go Kill myself now.

The blows just keep coming.... Brett Rat-ass-ner for X3, Transformers by Michal Bay with no recognizable robots, Joss Wedon out of Wonder Woman, and now Goyer out of the picture? Excuse me for not attending the premiere. Or maybe just a little embargo, don't you think? The studio guys keep thinking they can trash anything and still get away from it. That's why in order to make a good decent comics film they need either to make a director's cut or to quit the director's guild (i.e sin city). DAMN!!!

This fckin blows!

Don't get me wrong, I like a lot of Levy's movies. But he is more known for making comedies.

Flash is nothing like Levy has ever done before and I'm afraid that they're going to camp it up.

Make it lighter than BB and SR? Both were very dark films- (Spider-Man is ALOT lighter) so the question to ask now is: does this mean camp? Or does this mean Spidey light?

I'm really confused, hesitant and scared as hell.

Never wanted to see ANY of his movies, but I will hodl back judgement until I hear about the script. Cause greatness always starts with that. If the story sucks then the film will regardless of his direction.

I have yet to see a Levy movie thats watchable. CBTD, PP, and NATM were all atrocious. I don't mind that he makes light movies, but he makes BAD light movies.

Wow. My heart sank when I read the lines Goyer wrote a darker script and Levy is going to make it lighter. :( I bet people are mad that Goyer is gone now.

Honestly, i couldn't believe it. Goyer may not be the best director in town, but the man can be good (Dark City, Batman Begins) and he knows his comics.

This guy...my god. I know WB might of picked him b/c of his box office sucess, but chud.com made a good point: The comic book market has saturated and now it's time for the REAL Hacks to come in and ruin whatever is left.. Great..

This is ridiculous. From Goyer to Levy... Seriously now...

I fear this will be a family(kiddy) superhero movie.
Levy's also directed Just Married, Big Fat Liar, and Jett Jackson: The Movie

I'm a bit worried who will get the Wonder Woman movie.

I thnk Joel Silver (hate him or like him) wouldn't let someone like Levy around that movie. It's too important.

wow, this kind of sucks, i'm glad that goyer isn't going to direct, but i hate it that they aren't going to use his script, or atleast the tone. i think a batman begins style flash would be awesome. i actually think the guy that did robocop and starship troopers would be a good director for the flash, can't remember his name though. or mayb gore verbinski (however you spell his name, pirates of the carribean director). those would be my two top choices, if they would agree to do goyers darker style script and not camp it up like they seem to be doing.

This is fu*king disgusting. I knew those idiots would do this. Don't they ever learn? Did Batman & Robin teach them nothing?

The worst part about this isn't just that this film is now guaranteed to suck, but that when the film fails, they won't try again. The Flash doesn't have the icon status of Batman and Superman to feed off, so when their shi*ty Shawn Levy film blows it they won't consider a Flash revamp to be a viable option.

Every hope of ever seeing a good Flash movie just went up in smoke, and that's really infuriating, because I love the Flash. this blows.

Amy Heckerling for Wonder Woman.

Don't even joke about that! Honestly, I have mixed feelings. He's never attempted to make this type of film before so we don't know how he'll handle it. And honestly, Blade Trinity sucked so Goyer wasn't that great either. I hope Reynolds is still up for the role though.

You know you want Wonder Woman saying WHATEVER!. :cwink:

Heh, well the fanboy rants are starting to pile up already. Fingers crossed WB will hear this, and change plans ala Jack Black/GL and JJ Abrams/Superman.

I'm starting to believe Nolan on Batman was just a fluke and DC superhero movies are heading right back to the crapper again.

Why is that? At least I can now have the remote chance of taking my kids to see a movie about a comicbook hero. I couldn't say the same for Batman Begins.

Ugggh. I don't really know what to even say at this point. I was beyond excited when I heard not only was Goyer going to write and direct...but he was also lobbying for Ryan Reynolds to be the Flash. David was even researching time travel and the elements of lightspeed with quantum physicists! It all seemed too good to be true. What's even worse is that not only did they change directions, they hired the guy behind Cheaper By The Dozen?!? OH, CRAP!

There are plenty of kid friendly superhero movies coming out. Does every ****ing comicbook movie have to be geared towards little kids???

I don't think that Flash was ever really a true dark comic (like Batman). The direction that Goyer was taking it would have only limited the returns at the box office. If you look at films like "Harry Potter", POTC, FF, "The Incredibles", and "Spiderman", they were more family friendly and normally did way better than any equivalent dark film. Just face it. Dark films are a pretty risky proposition if you need to spend a lot of money to produce them. Why not better your chances at getting your money back on the investment by broadening your market size?
