8.17 - Hex - Discussion Thread (Spoilers)

Why do people even bother to bash on this show? Now I haven't read any comics but from what I can gather there are many different interpretations on Superman and his origins and so forth in the various comics, cartoons etc. So why can't Smallville do it's own thing then? If you don't like what they're doing with the characters and plots and stuff, don't watch the damn show. Simple as that.

This is what I believe also. People aren't going to get exactly what they want. If you don't like the show, don't watch it.

yea if all you do is bash the show why do you bother to watch it at all. Yes there is things over the years i havent liked about the show but there is way more good things i have liked.

yeah I hate it when people say they watch it for someone negetive reveiws or to see if it gotten more terrible. If you do not like it do something better like read a book because no one wants to hear your negetive comments

Really great review triplet, keep up the good work

Thanks....

that was a great reveiw, Triplet. However I wished you discuss your feelings on hearing the Bart Allen and Clark Kent dealing with the crisis in Keystone city. I give your reveiw 10/10

Oh, that was great. Using Clark's increased do-gooding activities to explain why he wasn't there was terrific.

I love the fact that they used so much stuff that happpened off-screen in this episode.

Black Pete Ross, Asian Lana Lang, all the Kryptonite-infected mutants, Perry White's early appearance, Clark & Lana hooking up, Lex & Lana hooking up, Lois coming to Smallville, humanoid Bariniac, humanoid Doomsday-stop me any time.

But in the everything before thi sseason i could see happeing, this season, while he's superman, then u can have bizzarro, doomsday..so on.

The lana lex thing isnt a big deal, they just swapped out Pete with Lex.

In post 500 I explained that they something similar to a clexana(clark/lana/lex triangle) in Superman the animated series and I agree they could back now he is the red blue blur/Great Samaritian/superman/reporter clark kent. They use various influences from the comics including the silver age and put it into a modern, more believable age

I'm tired, but I'm going to work on it a bit before bed with a beer to smooth the way...

;)

Oh, I love the Yuengling.... it's awesome.

It's a German beer, brewed in Pennsylvania and since the 1820s, and I love it. (The spelling is how the original owner thought Americans would spell his German name, it was Jüngling.)

However, if Fat Tire was available here (I live in Florida) I'd drink that instead.

It's the best beer I think I've ever had. It's brewed in Ft Collins CO and I used to love to eat in their brew pub when I lived in Colorado, but they don't even sell the stuff East of the Mississippi.

Bastards.

I've tried some Canadian beers and I'm not sure I really liked them much...

What kind of Canadian beers were you thinking you wanted to send me?

i may be old enough to drink (23 here) but i dont touch any alcohalic drinks at all. No interest in it, even though my friends all keep trying to pressure me to drink.

That's a good thing.

I actually like beer, some people don't, so I'd probably drink it even if it didn't have alcohol in it...

The thing is, I don't drink to get drunk, I drink because I like beer or wine or whatever.

When I was younger, the goal in drinking was to get drunk and that's pretty common with kids. When I was in college or just out of it, I could drink a six pack.

I don't do that anymore. Now, I usually have one or two beers and that's usually it.

Sometimes I will have more, but that doesn't happen a lot.

Yea totally alot of my friends drink alot and get really wasted at times. I just think all those anti smoking/drinking stuff they shove down your throats as kids/early teens just got so ingrained into my mind i just dont care for it at all.

It's adorable...

This post right here is what made me post all of what I said. SUPERMAN is not adorable. Hello Kitty, Hanna Montana...Not SUPERMAN. Thats why this show Fails. Its fun sometimes but it fails.

Funny how a show that's been going on for 8 years (which now potentially might hit the decade mark) is a "Failure". It fails for you perhaps, but apparently not millions of others. Otherwise the show wouldn't have gone beyond season 4.

But this particular episode *was* adorable!

Adorable doesn't mean that it's like Hannah Montana or Hello Kitty. Something can be adorable and not be childish.

It was funny and Clark was adorable with Chloe-as-Lois when he didn't remember himself.

I can't believe I'm needing to defend myself for that statement.

*sigh*

Great Review, triplet! You know you should really consider becoming a professional critic, your reviews are that good and detailed. Can't wait until your review for "Eternal" and your opinion of the retcons.

Depends on what you like. I'm from Nova Scotia. We're kinda like the hub of beers. We have something like 7 breweries in a small province.

Some of the most famous include Alexander Keith's, Garrison, Propeller, etc.
Some of the international Canadian beers are weak sauce, and should be avoided. Such as Labatt, Molsen Canadian, etc.

One of my favorite beers is Garrison's Raspberry Wheat ale.
Alexander Keith's has become a staple of Nova Scotia. I'd say probably 70% of Halifax is sponsored by the company. I'm not really a fan, though.

:)

Superman is not some brooding dark depressing Superhero.

I'll never understand how some fans came to this idea. Like it is their dream to make Superman nothing more than Batman in a red cape.

He's the nice naive country boy who will say things like "Golly" and "Swell."

He's the guy who will put a cape on his dog and think that is just the coolest thing ever.

Sure.. He can go from rescuing a kitten from a tree one second to punching a Monster so hard he shatters windows for miles the next but that is the point.

Superman can @#!@ you up if you piss him off but he can still be sweet and nice.

So yes; he can absolutely be adorable in his own way.

Thanks for the recs.

Yeah, the reason I suggested sending at all is because I don't know if the local beers here have even made it national yet let alone international. Hopefully you can find some, though.
