do kids really talk like that anymore? and damn twitter reference...

All that dialogue is so, so... bleh.

This is the episode that is speculated to premiere the Wonder Twins, right?

yeah, I'm guessing those twin siblings are the Wonder Twins.

Cliche teenage dialogue, horrible references, lame DC characters! Sounds like Fierce 2.0!

Ok, and here I was just saying how I am trying to stay positive about S9 in the Rabid thread.

These sides aren't helping things at all...

Red Blue Blur or just Blur...god how I HATE that name!!
It's cool they spray painted the \S/ and all, but geez that just sounds like it's going to be hard to watch.

I'm going to watch this episode with my friends jack daniels and johnny walker.

Well i will wait to judge this episode more once we have more news on the episode and once we actually see it. For all we know some of that dialouge stuff could be changed and all that, probably not. As for wonder twins its interesting to use them and hopefully they will turn out to be ok, i been fine with pretty much all the other dc comics heroes/villains they have had appear in the series. Do you guys think they will keep them being aliens or just turn them into humans with metapowers?

I don't get it. People ***** and moan about wanting the show to be more like the comics, but whenever the show does introduce those elements, the *****ing and moaning is even louder.

Should they just stick to high school love triangles?

I don't really have an agenda for the show other than entertain me please. Yeah, that's right... I can take or leave the omg!comic mythology stuff. Just give me a well-made show with some awesome superhero moments and I'm happy.

People are groaning because the Wonder Twins are a total joke.

Geez, bad day?

I praise the show as much as I **** about it. I don't think the complaining in this instance is about comic book elements being added in (of which the Wonder Twins or Wendy, Marv and their dog weren't a part of) or lack there of. The complaining is about characters and storytelling.

I can't speak for others but yes I have been a little more negative about it since the S8 finale--but was just commenting today that I am excited for S9 and am trying to keep an open mind.

That being said, Sorry you can't change the first impression I got from those sides. Who knows it could turn out all right when all is said and done. We will just have to see.

I am all for adding more action/adventure comics or what have you and am looking to be entertained as well. I am not that much of a slave to mythology/canon.

Actually, yes.
But I wasn't really trying to be as snarky as I guess I sounded. Let me back up and try again...

I really am always surprised at how put out people get whenever any new DC character(s) are introduced. But.. but... I thought that's what so many people have been waiting for... more alignment with comic stuff.

Which is totally fair.

I know they were cartoon characters, but weren't they also comic book characters?

S8 was filled with extremes - good and bad. More so than any other season, from my perspective.

That being said, Sorry you can't change the first impression I got from those sides.

And I wouldn't try. The dialog was sadly groan-worthy. Hopefully that's a brief glimpse at a preliminary script.

See? We totally agree. :)

Well yes their superfriends appearances were total sillyness/cheesy, i dont know how they been treated in the dc comics books since they were added into them in the 90s as i was reading on wikipedia earlier today. I am sure they will not turn them into a utter joke, and they will be ok, i think all the first appearances of dc heroes in the show has been pretty darn good. And as for wonder twins being picked yea its not someone i would have liked to seen, but whos to say we could not see someone out near the end of the season like how we got legion then zatanna in season 8. Yes we know wonder twins, then jsa mid season, maybe we can get someone else too near the end.

As for characters i would have liked to seen is a gl but all are probably off the books, would like to see diana but like bats we know why they cant be in there. But its all about which dc characters have less red tape to get around to be used and the smallville producers probably had some characters in mind when they were thinking of new dc heroes to include and my guess wonder twins ended up being ones who didnt have trouble.

As for future dc heroes who could work in smallville's world and who probably wouldnt have more red tape issues who do you guys think that could be?

Are the writers trying to have the opposite effect of last year ? ****** start & strong ending ? If these writers can not come up with a good full season then they should be fired if there ever is a 10th Season. If they are writing a ****** start on purpose to have a strong ending then they should still be fired if they can not cpme up with a good season in full. I say fire their asses if this ends up happening

The Wonder Twins aren't from the comics, they are from the Superfriends. Any comics they were in were out of continuity...at least I hope. infinite crisis save us!

Actually, yes.

It's the internetz--things don't always come off as intended. No worries. Sorry you had a bad day, hope today is better.

I really am always surprised at how put out people get whenever any new DC character(s) are introduced. But.. but... I thought that's what so many people have been waiting for... more alignment with comic stuff.
I think alot of the complaining comes from two perspectives:
A) People don't like seeing Clark take a backseat--which he often does when these elements are introduced.

B) People who can't let go of comics canon or are not open to change.

I love when more of the DCU is introduced and am open to change or reinterpration, but I fall into category A. I want to see the new characters through Clark's journey. Not Clark's journey through the new characters---does that make sense?

I know they were cartoon characters, but weren't they also comic book characters?
I know they originated from the Super Friends cartoons. If they have ever made it to the books it was long after I stopped reading them.

S8 was filled with extremes - good and bad. More so than any other season, from my perspective.
Completely agree.

And I wouldn't try. The dialog was sadly groan-worthy. Hopefully that's a brief glimpse at a preliminary script.

Yes, that was the main thing I was complaining about--the awful dialog. Which as you said will hopefully change or at least sound better than it's written.

See? We totally agree. :)

Mazal tov!!!!

Clark took back steps most of last season. I still say last season was the Green Arrow Show cause he was more entertaining then Clark was. I want a GA series after this SV series ends.

I'm not upset if The Wonder Twins or Wendy and Marv appear on the show. The thing that made me go "WTF?" was the dialogue. Do kids really talk like that? If so, I fear for the world.

Ya that speak was bad but in the end it could be different, and like i pointed out yesterday, yes the first started in superfriends and were not official dc heroes but in the 90s they were added into the dc universe in some justice league books. i said last night i been happy with all past dc heroes intros into the series and i am sure they wont end up being a total joke.

Wonder Twin Powers ACTIVATE!

Form of a STIFF ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGE!

Shape of a FILLER EPISODE!

BTW are these replacing the episode threads now?
