Episode 9.04 - Casting Sides

Ollie got the same screen time Chloes got in 3 episodes to Chloes 4. Lois has more than double. I personally don't really care for her character anymore, I just don't think it might have been smart to bring her back for the sake of bringing her back. Where budget is always a concern for this show. Allison must really think shes got a lot of time on her hands...

Last year Chloe got more screentime then any character(not counting Clark) on the show during the 8 years it's been on. I am guessing her role will pick up as the season goes on. Right now she is sitting at about 7 1/2 minutes average per episode, it probably will be over 10 by time the season is done.

Just watched this episode. Pretty solid, I felt bad for Oliver for the first time all season. It's just ashame that he'll be taking the spotlight for at least another two episodes before we see Zod again. Also, it would be incredibly awesome if Toyman controlled Metallo.

that would be pretty cool move to do with toyman and metallo.

That seems about right, only person that dealt with Davis, Jimmy and Clark. Well that can be expected she appeared in all 22 episodes where the next person up is about 13. Yeah I assume her role will be picked by mid season, just doing what? Right now the show is the Clark and Lois adventures featuring Oliver Queen and the DC Universe characters... Not that I have a problem with.

I am guessing she will be tied into the Oliver plots soon. Still be Clark's BFF, somebody Lois talks to. Probably get a couple Chloecentric episodes on top of that. If it's her last season they will probably give her a big leaving arc.

Yea there is bound to be at least one chloe centric episode if allison is indeed not going to do 10th season if that happens.

It was more of a L&C type episode imo, which is a good thing (to me at least). They are starting to do the same type of Clark power gags, which is also cool.

For some reason I also thought of the dating scenario in the office setting was a bit similar heh

Yes it was very much like a L&C episode . I love how at the end Lois gives Clark another shot at getting things right for the next date .

These kinds of moments between Lane & Kent never get old no matter how many times you see them .

Awesome... This turned out to be a really fun episode! It was great to have the Toyman back, and Clark is... wow, Clark is definitely growing into the man he should be. It's also great to have as much as Lois as we're getting. I wasn't disappointed in the small amount of Chloe we saw. Still love her, but girl can stand to not be so front and center all the time. That said, I am getting annoyed with Oliver's mopey-mope story. I enjoyed seeing Tomb Raider Tess talk his sorry ass into pulling together for at least one evening. Speaking of said evening... how creepy was that Ref-Lex-ion gag at the end??

Great (potential) set-up to have not only Toyman back again, but Metallo. Loved that.

The preview for next week, however... having just about had enough of Oliver this week, I wasn't thrilled to see a preview that was practically ALL him. Boy better have his clothes off in the episode at some point, I'm tellin' ya...

Yeah but next ep should clear up Oliver a bit. Ill sacrifice one ep for him.

Note to Clark: Dont share anything personal with Chloe, all she wants to do these days is rip your head off and roll her eyes at you for not consulting her before you do anything and also, you could try teaching her about the word "sorry".

Otherwise, I need to watch this episode again when I've downloaded it from iTunes. I only saw an average copy of it and it was a little distracting that the audio was 3 seconds in front of the video.

Right now the show is working best with

Clark
Tess
Lois

Chloe would not be a big loss. At this point she is nothing more than a talking R2D2 used for security hacks.

agreed. everywhere you turn, it seems like she's rolling her eyes and has some snarky comment (more than usual) at Clark. She doesn't get what she wants so she throws hissy fits. also, I HATED when she mentioned how much she gave up to protect Clark. As if he voluntarily told her his secret...:whatever:

Dude Chloe is a total pill this year. I will not miss her or her delusional fans when she leaves.

While I have some problems with the character I understand(at times) why she is needed. Clark basically has nobody in his personal life to relate to(with Pete and his parents gone, you can even argue lex in early seasons) and needs that one person. As for the fans, I think they make me really dislike the character. Sadly I can see Chloe fans that are annoying as all hell not dissappearing even if she leaves(I honestly don't get the point of going to every online article complaining about the show then proudly claiming they don't watch the show). It's my belief that if the world tommorow had an all out nuclear war, the only things that would survive are the cockroaches and people who believe in Chlois.

Well Chloe has had some moments that I really appreciated her but those are far outnumbered by the times I wanted someone to slug her. I feel sorry for the fans of the character that are sane. And no the crazy ones won't leave, hell half of them already claim that they don't watch the show anymore.:whatever:

okay, i never ever say this, so ill get right to it

this was an actual good episode of smallville

wow

i am truely shocked

very little chloe(yay)
more ollie(best)
clark training and saving people(feels like a superman show)
clark didn't seem to waste time in this ep, normally he would ***** and moan about stuff

nice to see clark being aware about other people and stuff(gonna need that level of empathy when he dons to proper suit)

show still has major problems, but it looks like they are trying to work on them

after a terrible season 8 and a pathetic season 9 opening, it looks like this show may be on the right track(hopefully they can at least end it on a good note)

honestly i was not really paying attention this episode. just wasnt really interested in the Ollie stuff. i mean i love the character, and i REALLY LOVE justin. so i was watching, but idk, the whole mopey never sober Ollie is just annoying after so long.

I totally agree, except for your comment on S8. S8 was a pleasure to watch, when compared to the 7 that came before it.

Im a big Ollie fan, since Im a big DC fan first and foremost.

Its no doubt its Clark/Lois upfront.
2nd tier is Ollie and Tess
3rd is Chloe and Zod(He is no where to be seen and his absence is exactly what they are tryin to do, which is to hied. lol)

Umm yeah did last week's episode ever happened. I mean people are pretending like nothing happened. Police and other people are not even investagating. No mention of the virus at all.

that happens with alot of shows lol things not expanded upon and all that. Sure its nice when shows do that and we know clark's blood is a factor into the zod storyline to find the blur and all that. As for the whole chloe thing sure her character hasnt been the best lately, i still do like the character and all that. I do agree its bad when she is being a ***** and all that. But that is how the character is being done right now. Who knows what is going to happen down the road this season.

Check out this hilarious morsel from twop. :funny:

I would think that AM is just pissed at her treatment (being practically cut out of the show after NINE YEARS of faithful service) but the script has Chloe going down to the Planet ready and able to tell off Clark for basically screwing with someone else's heart- I know she was talking about Lois, but it sounded like shades of self-reference too.

I really hate this show. The kick the Chloe seems to have extended beyond Chloe and the fans, and now is hurting the actual actress. AM can't be happy about this continued lack of screen time.

what the crap is that?

i LOVE Allison Mack and I've LOVED her character Chloe the whole run of this series, but people are just weird. im not a fan of the way Chloe has been shown this season thus far, but im positive it will get better and is all leading to somewhere good.

so yeah, people are stupid.

I couldnt understand why he ran to her to tell her that he could hear people's thoughts and ask her if she could work out what was going on. :whatever:

In my opinion the only reason why the writer wrote it like that, was so that Chloe could throw her hissy fit at him later on for breaking poor Lois's heart.
