Episode 9.04 - Casting Sides

they should go into the political game as personal careers. They can twist anything they want to serve their delusions. :D

I really liked this episode. Lois & Clark's scenes were golden. I just had to laugh at the absurdity that is Jor-El lately. I mean this guy can not only just take Clark's powers away in Season 4, give powers to Lionel & Fake Supergirl but now he can simply give Clark the ability to read minds. ??? huh ??? This AI is 10 times the machine Brainiac ever was. He needs to just download his program into a host already LOL.

I'm hoping Ollie turns it around in the next couple of episodes. He's quite depressing. I don't think I can take much more of his self loathing. His scenes w/ Clark were also pretty good.

In my opinion another great episode, as I said before if the season satay this strong it could be the best season yet. Before watching the episode I was like, whats tupid reason are they gonna have for giving Clark this power. But in the end I think it was used as a great learning tool for Clark. If you want to discuss how he got the power thats another thing. As far as Chloe goes I think with the story they're telling so far her screen time is just right. I do think she was including her self in the mini lecture she gave CK but in more of a you broke my heart as a friend kinda way. I mean for the whole show it's always been CK and Chloe. I mean even while he was with Lana CK turned to Chloe, while she was with Jimmy they where together a lot. And she's been his go to partner when ever he needed help. More so in the later seasons but for 8 years they've worked together and even had feeling for each other. But when she need him most he pretty much ignored her and only came back because of Lois. So considering what she has been through this probaly broke her heart. I also have to agree that I can't wait to see the end of constantly drunk Ollie story line. Maybe it has to do with being a big GA fan before he was on the show but I just think this story line is boring. All in all I give the show an 8/10.

Check out this hilarious morsel from twop. :funny:

What always amuses me, is that they seem to know exactly what the actress/actor is feeling and believe that they are as appalled by the events of the show as much as they themselves are.

Yeah they do that all the time:hehe: Of course they are convinced that the entire cast hate Erica Durance and all that "special treatment" she is getting lately just as much as they do.

half the people posting there must have huge mental issues, wow.

boy those guys there, from everything we know from last season+ the whole cast has been pretty happy with the way things have changed up.

Half the members their love to live in pure denial. I'm in total agreement on the comment BAG made on the podcast about TWOP . Seriously the immaturity of these people is really sad .

He basically said, if you don't like the show go somewhere else and stop bothering the people who do...

;)

They were talking about all the fan wank and how hateful people can get online.

He'd seen that with the SCC fandom, they would rip apart the actor for something their character had done. BAG said it's not cool to make it personal. The actors don't have anything to do with how their characters are written.

This is best episode of Smallville I've seen in some time. I was really surprised how much the dialogue improved from past episodes. It's also nice to see Clark go through some real growth.

This might make me unpopular, but I really think its time for Oliver to leave the show. I'm not saying that I don't like the character. I really do, and I think Justin does a great job playing him. As a regular character, he just feels superfluous. The guy should have his own show.

Was away for the weekend and just caught the episode on iTunes. Thought it was great. Loved the Lois and Clark and Clark and Oliver stuff. The hearing thoughts thing for Clark was sort of "meh" but didnt hinder the ep all that much though I have no idea what it really taught Clark about human behavior that he didnt already know?

As for TWOP, you know my thoughts. It's a website for every show where people exist to be a-holes and constantly try to out a-hole one another. They're petty, unsatisfied with their own lives, and try to project their own short-comings on to people/characters ( I dont think they know there's a difference) on television shows. I was glad to hear that BAG called a spade a spade.

I have nothing against bashing tv characters, but when that venom spews to a real life person who didn't do anything to deserve it, that definantly steps beyond the line(I personally hate Lana, but I don't hold it against Kristin, hell I watched Street Fighter, the Legend of Chun Li despite all the negative reviews because of her).

That being said whenever I need a good laugh I can't help but go there and read a few posts. I know everybody views the show with different googles on but I always chuckle how they write about there pet theory as if it was fact and everybody views the show that way(ie Chlois would be "ground breaking" television, and would have been done if Al/Miles stayed). It's cool if somebody think that Chlois was a good idea, but to think you speak for the general public on how they view a show(especially with a theory that is so far out there) and know exactly what goes into the producers heads(especially when they have gone on the record many times that they never intended to do it) is ridiculous.

I have my own theory that deep down Chloisers know with Erica there, there is 0 chance of there theory happening, which is why she gets so much hostility(as if she is the person at fault for Chloe not morphing in "ILL").

So I finally got to watch it last night (yea took me long enough, with moving and stuff, time is rather constrained right now) and it was another solid episode for the season.

The mind reading was rather hokie and just solidifies that Jor-El must be the most powerful dead guy in the universe...but it was saved by some outstanding writing and using it as a way to help Clark grow worked to full effect.

The best parts of the episode though was the Lois/Clark dynamic and how they are growing their relationship within the universe of this show...it's rather awesome. My wife was eating the story between them up, and was glued to the tv smiling whenever they were on screen together.

I really hope they go full bore with their relationship this year and have them date a bit, and I really want this Lois to find out Clark's secret, but I hope he tells her and she doesn't have to find out by accident.

Also Chris Gauthier turned in another fantastic performance as the Toyman. He has Metallo's heart...so maybe he'll find a way to upgrade it or something. I hope he comes back, as now that Eureka is on hiatus and won't be back until mid next year, he should have some more free time to play Toyman again. Do it sir! :argh:

Yup i agree toyman is another solid dc comics villain they have brought in. He is right up there with brainiac as one of my favs.

i just got finished with it trip. Another great read. You know how i like your reviews on the show. I agree even with the faults in the episode it was still a solid episode. Not bryan's best but not a bad episode at all.

Tess kinda looks very tomb raider-ish.

We noticed that too, and thought it might be on purpose - could she be under consideration for the next movie (or trying to get them to consider her for it)?
