That was sweet! Clark destroyed the solar towers!
Freaking awesome episode, it was hilarious at times when Lois was at the farm, but man did things heat up, awesome ending!!!![]()
This was a surprisingly solid episode all around. I wish Tess would make room for me in there.
Also, I love the way Clark man handles her, haha. That was a really sweet ending with the towers, too. All in all, another solid episode is a great season thus far. Except for Lois dance...that was pure cheese.
Badass Clark makes another appearance. **** yeah!t:
The ending was sweet. I love Clark this season. He's really growing a pair and doing whatever the hell he feels when it comes to Zod and his scheme. And for the first time in a while, we get a move from Clark that is both logical and wait for it...actually smart. Finally.
Ummm...can Anne Cofell Saunders write more episodes!
First Idol, now this surprisingly badass episode!! It's knida like how "Crimson" was light-hearted at the beginning but than got very dark and dramatic toward the end and it worked beautifully here as well!
The Good:
Clark-Man, this is the most badass we've seen Clark since "Savior". Dude was so proactive throughout, even Tom himself seemed more engaging in the role this week. His scenes with Lois were priceless and sweet. His scenes with Zod were intense and well written. There was also of complexity with Clark's actions. I like how Clark admitted to wanting to cross the line sometimes but always going back to his principles of no killing. Very Superman once again!
Zod-Callum was awesome once again! I loved his scene with Tess in the bathtub, lots of sexual tension. His scenes with Clark are just excellent and the way he seems to be trying to make Clark embrace the Kryptonian laws as well as the lifestyle. Not to mention, that shot of Zod looking at the towers being destoryed...powerful stuff Callum!
Tess-She was very enjoyable in this episode as well as that cat fight with Chloe surprisingly! Also, that scene when Clark is about to kill her, Cassidy gave a great performance, Tess looked scared out of her mind!
Jor-El's killer revealed-I had no idea it was Alia, it was a pretty good twist. Kinda sucked to see her get killed jsut cause Alia was a musterious character that should have been explored more. Oh WELL!
-Chloe didn't annoy me too much! I am shocked!
Clark's ring of fire-AWESOMENESS!
Clark destorying the Towers-EPIC. AMAZING. BRILLIANT. About time Clark!
The Bad:
-The Lois housewife sub-plot-Yeah, it had it's funny moments and Erica was LOL. But the Clark/Zod/Kandorians plot really overshadowed it and it seemed like just a gimmick in the end.
-How the hell did Chloe know how to cure herself, Clark, know exactly where Clark took Tess and get there in just a minute!
All and All, well written, well acted by the cast and pushed the main story arc forward in the right direction. I thought this would be a fluff filler and it completely caught me off guard! After "Pandora", I was disappointed by this Zod/Kandorians arc taking a lackluster turn, but "Persuasion" has me very intrigued in it again! Top 5 from this season for me!![]()
Honestly, I have no idea what the writers were thinking. The FX team outdid themselves, but *somebody* should have put the breaks on a scene that suggests massive loss of life and imagery nearly identical to an actual terrorist attack that is still very, very real for many viewers.
The Twin Towers in NY also imploded, and more people died than just those who were *inside* the buildings. Chocking dust and debre spread out for over a mile from ground zero, and toxic clouds covered lower Manhattan for weeks.
Is this what a hero does? Think people, think!
I stand by my opinion and point. Such a scene is reserved for the VILLAIN. It amazes me that nowhere in the long chain of approval that SV episodes pass, nobody, NOBODY - from the writer's room to broadcast - apparently saw that symbolism.
Other than that, I enjoyed the episode. Lois and Hamilton were a hoot. I'm still cracking up over Emil palm-topping his beer cap over the edge of the counter.

Why exactly does he need to blow it up though? He should be able to take it apart easily with his bare hands. Maybe not as spectacular as big fiery explosions, but it still would have been fun to see it disappear piece by piece in front of Zod's eyes.3)he's saving the planet from an army of superbeings, that destroy the city as far as we know. Destroying one block of metropolis, to topple the building, is a much better move than allowing them to destroy the entire city. As Spock would say, the good of the many...
As much as I like Oliver I was glad he wasn't in this episode.

And?1) falling/collapsing buildings have been a staple of superman action for a long time
You have entirely missed the point.2) it's been almost 10 years since 911, at some point people have to realize it is in the past. How long do we have to wait before we don't have to worry about causing post traumatic stress disorder in a New Yorker. I think 8+ years is enough personally. I'm not trying to diminish the significance of the event, but rather point out that at some point, we need to move beyond. Do we worry about Iraqis who went through Shock adn Awe whenever there are bombing explosions in a movie or on TV, and that was a far more traumatic even I think, as well as destructive and more recent?
While logical, this isn't a Superman tenet.3)he's saving the planet from an army of superbeings, that destroy the city as far as we know. Destroying one block of metropolis, to topple the building, is a much better move than allowing them to destroy the entire city. As Spock would say, the good of the many...
Bingo. The effect was fantastic. The story (destroy the towers before Zod can take over) made perfect sense. The execution was simply poor, IMHO. If people disagree, that's fine, but rolling eyes at others (I'm looking at you, Mikelus) does not make your opinion(s) any more valid. Why exactly does he need to blow it up though?
