A Batman Cinematic Universe?

A Batman Cinematic Universe

  • Shut up and take my money WB.

  • There's to much focus on Batman's world in the DCEU.

  • Don't really care.

  • I don't think there's a Batman Cinematic Universe going on.

You counted Suicide Squad even though his role in that movie was basically a cameo and yet you didn't count Incredible Hulk.

He still showed up in Suicide Squad longer than Iron Man did in The Incredible Hulk who was not even in the Iron Man costume while Batman showed up in costume in Suicide Squad a lot longer overall

From 2008 to 2019, Iron Man will have appeared in ten films.

Iron Man
The Incredible Hulk
Iron Man 2
The Avengers
Iron Man 3
Avengers: Age of Ultron
Captain America: Civil War
Spider-Man: Homecoming
Avengers: Infinity War
Avengers 4

During that same time frame, Batman will have appeared in six films.

The Dark Knight
The Dark Knight Rises
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice
Suicide Squad
Justice League
The Batman

VERDICT: This is a silly argument.

It was a copy & paste from Wikipedia as Im toooo lazy tooo do all of that typing & Guardians comes out before Homecoming so I did not wanna re copy the one below that one I got bored after highlighting & deleting Wonder Woman & the Batman list was strictly a Batman list I copied & pasted from

My point still stands. 14 adaptations in over 70 years vs 7 in 9.

One of those two are ridiculous.

Ahh okay.

I think the only movie in the Marvel slate that used IM and didnt need to was Homecoming.

And I dont think its becoming a BCEU at all... Batman in the comics also has the most number of titles. He has the richest side characters and villains gallery.

Just today the producers mocked the concept of having 4 Batman movies in 2019...

In MARVEL's defense before the first Iron Man movie came out Spider-Man was their top dog while Batman has been stealing the DC spotlight long before Iron Man ever did that is not ridiculous at all

Four Batman movies over the course of seven years. Then a new trilogy started seven years later with a sequel released three years after that one and the final movie in that trilogy released four years later. Then Ben Affleck's first appearance as Batman was released four years after the last trilogy had ended.

An important thing to note is that Batman has one of the most popular and iconic supporting cast in comics. So popular many of them can also hold there own independent of Batman.

Out of this JL of Aquaman, Wonder Woman, Flash, Green Lantern, Superman who has a supporting character that could be spun off into their own franchise?

Supergirl?, Mera?

We got the whole Black Adam and Shazam thing going on, but due to the Rock's involvement I think that's a special case.

But the thing is MARVEL CAN take unknown characters & make them into well beloved Blockbusters while DC movies will make money because of the well known characters but they are hated to hell & back. How the hell do you think an unknown DC character would do ? Why do you think they are shoe horning Superman into Black Adam ? Not even The Rock can save an unknown DC character to the General Audience

When was it announced that Superman is going to be in the Black Adam solo movie. I thought it was supposed to be about his origins in ancient Khandaq. Which would make it the second DC movie to take place in the past after Wonder Woman.

Don't know about Black Adam in a Superman movie. But due to the Rock's involvement with Black Adam (a character who is traditionally Shazam's arch-nemesis) Black Adam has a solo movie in development.

I'm guessing if the Rock wasn't involved the Black Adam movie probably wouldn't be in development.

Well either way it sounds like Black Adam is dependent on Superman especially if Man Of Steel 2 comes first

How is the Black Adam solo movie dependent on Superman just because Man of Steel 2 may be released first?

Replace Batman coming in Man Of Steel 2 with Black Adam lol

And at the moment we don't know the story details of Man of Steel 2 such as who the villain is. So to say that Black Adam is dependent on Man of Steel 2 is a bit odd.

They are both getting overexposed, but with Iron Man he was hardly a blip on anyone's radar until 2008. I wouldn't say he's been overused until relatively recently.

Batman's been popular for decades, and I'd say this current interpretation of Batman's been big since the 80's. It's not hard to see why a lot more people get tired of Batman in comparison. It's just been a lot longer for him.

And no, that's not to say he's been overexposed since the 80's or anything or that every appearance he's had was bad because he's popular. It's just that's probably about when the Dark Knight side of Batman came into mainstream. Iron Man hasn't been mainstream for even a decade yet.

Exactly. The simple act of DC wanting to highlight their most popular comics characters in the DCEU would have inevitably led to Batman-related characters featuring heavily.

The WB can't even make good movies with their main heroes since Nolan left & he gave us Snyder what makes you think they will suddenly turn around with unknown ones ?

I don't see what that's got to do with what I said, which was that Batman-related characters will naturally begin to feature heavily. I didn't say anything about how good they'd be.

How are Nightwing and Batgirl unknown characters?

Let's look at non-Iron Man Marvel characters who have gotten their own movie since 2008:

Hulk
Thor (2 movies)
Captain America (3 movies)
Ant-man
Doctor Strange
Guardians of the Galaxy

Let's look at non-Bat DC characters who have had their own movie since 2008:

Watchmen
Green Lantern
Jonah Hex
Superman
Suicide Squad

That's almost double, unless I'm missing some.

Also, just look at each studios upcoming slate and see how many Bat-characters they've got coming down the pipe.
