A day without mexicans!!!!

this is what happens when a problem is ignored and not handled immediately. The fact that illegals felt the need to protest just blows my mind. What I saw yesterday was the tip of the iceberg in what is gonna be a very messy Presidential Election. They were registering people to vote. Anyone think that they were checking to make sure people were legal...me neither.

does anyone have trouble understanding that many of the protesters where legal immigrants and US citizens?

How can they require these people from another country to be able to speak english properly when there are Americans who cannot speak english properly? Also... make them pass a U.S. history test? Ha. Unless it is ridiculously easy... give that test to an average American and have them take it. The results would be pretty bad. They need to make it easier for immigrants from Mexico to come here legally. It is quite hard the way it is... this is why you see illegal immigrants.
So why aren't they protesting faster LEGAL immigration?
What's wrong with making them pass a history test? They can prove themselves smarter than most americans...unless....you're suggesting that because they're Mexicans they CAN'T learn US history.

oh, I get it, it's not wether people get hurt or not, or lose money or not, it's if YOU do it or not.
I get it now.
it shouldn't be steeply fined because "hey everybody does it" right? and it's not like "it hurts anyone" right?
When did I say that? You like to twist words around tov fit your skewed perspective A song costs .99 on itunes If I steal that song, I shouldn't have to pay 10,000 dollars.

If they really want to protest something.(even though they don't have the right to)It would be better to try and get immigration reformed. Not "we been here so long just let us stay without any repercussions."

I dont care how hard they work.

Go through the proper channels.

I can't just move into the White House because I work hard.

LOL, see? you're informed as to why people go to the US illegaly, yet so causually pass judgement.

"I dont care if you think it's alright

buy a CD or movie from a proper store

I can't just steal a ferrari because I want one"

:)
oh carter, you disciplinarian you.

That is the reoccurring theme in Mr Sparkles posts.

But the difference here which seems to elude you because of your selective reading is that I DONT PROTEST ABOUT ILLEGALLY DOWNLOADING MUSIC

oh I know that, so it's not really about if it's "legal" or not right?
that really doesn't matter, does it?

I never said that they can't learn it... but it should be a choice. A lot of these people come here to work and make a living. Trying to better their lives. Is it really a HUGE deal for them to take time out of raising/supporting a family to learn U.S. history when an average American knows little to nothing about it? Most immigrants aren't rich and have the time to sit around taking U.S. history classes.

I steal your pencil. Do I need to go to jail and pay $10,000?

Illegal downloading should be a fine of only $50-100.

Then I suppose anybody who steals a candy bar deserves the death penalty according to you
Punishments should fit the crime

It's frigging obvious that downloading a .99 song does not result in 10,000 dollars in damages

and, as has been said time and time again, they didn't have the money to legally immigrate in the first place.:)

He is a selective reader, and thats impossible to deal with, just look at my posts where he skips over whatever he pleases, making his posts look silly when he replies to me or you...but I am sure he is a great person in real life. :spidey:

It's part of it, but it's not my argument. My argument is that it's ridiculous illegal immigrants are protesting.

so you think a song and a pencil are worth the same thing?
****e dude! no respect for the arts. tsk tsk.:(

So they can assimalate?

Ah, yes refute the point with a sarcastic statement

 you asume 2 things

  • they're all illegals
  • they are protesting to get "benefits"
both are wrong.

yes I call them Democratic Voter registers

Exactly, if i was to move to Germany. It would be dumb of me to not learn a bit about the culture and language.

LOL, I love how you have been reduced to cheerleading and can't really contribute anything.

it's fitting :)

I'm obviously only mad about the illegals. And even if they aren't asking for benefits, they shouldn't be allowed to protest.

Illegal downloading can cost you up to $10,000. While speeding a ticket of $200? Which is more dangerous?
