A little Batman help Please

I like the Bat-family. I like Robin and Nightwing and Azrael and Batgirl and Oracle and Spoiler and Alfred and Lesile (pre-War Crimes). As a matter in fact I would like to see Batman interact with the Bat family more often. He's adopted both Dick and Tim and he should interact with them like a father should. I would like to see Batman treat Oracle like an equal collegue and not a telephone operator. I would like to see Batman treat Alfred like a surrogate father figure. I would like to see Batman interact with Cassandra Cain now that she is part of the League of Assassins.

But it is still cool to see Batman work solo every once and a while. That is why I like the stories set in the early days of Batman's career so much.
I never have gotten in to the Bat - Familey to much they are alright once in awhile in the really big story's but I would prefer just Batman and Alfred most of the time.

it sort of is batmans style to act solo...if he'd interact with the bat-family more he'd lose his outsider image

Batman's "outsider image" is just that: a facade. He prefers to work through some cases alone, yes, but he's also come to realize how much more effective it can be to utilize other heroes' resources as a member of the JLA, through contact with Oracle, and in his partnership with Robin.

you said yourself, he UTILIZES others, not as much as he WORKS with them, don't get me wrong, they are his partners, he cares about them, and half the time he works WITH them, but the other half he just keeps the others away, maybe he is trying to protect them i remember a story where clark and bruce are discussing a case involving bizarro and tim is ear-dropping, bruce notices and sends him away, and then tells clark that when superhuman beings are involved tim is forbidden to participate.
i'm not saying bruce doesn't care about the bat-family, but he'll never allow himself to really get to close to them, he's been hurt too many times and now knows better than that

That must've been a story from a really long time ago, I guess. Robin's leading the Teen Titans. If Batman doesn't think that that puts him in the crosshairs of many a superhuman being, he's nowhere near the genius he purports to be.

Also, read Murderer/Fugitive or "Hush" or the current Batman comics and tell me he's not close to Tim, Dick, and the rest of the Bat-family.

that story is from trinity...i guess the writers wanted him out of that one 'cause it was about sups ww and bats only.
btw i read hush and murder/fugitive...and i know he's close to them, but what i mean is that when it comes down to business he prefers to do things himself, he usually sends everybody to investigate and himself to battle. he cares about them, but he'll never trust they're good enough to fight HIS battles

Just an update on what I now own in no perticular order

Year One
Darknight returns
Death in the Familey
Killing Joke
Dark Victory
Long Holloween
Man who laughs
Knight Fall
No Mans Land
Oficer Down
Hush
Bruce wayne fugitive Vol 1 and 2
Broken City
Death and the Maidens
War Drums
War Games all
War Crimes
Crime City
Batman year Three
Seduction of the gun
Death of innocents Horror of landmines
JLA Tower Of Babel
OMAC project

I welcome any other suggested Batman reading it could be a batman title or a JLA title as long as it is Batman. Also It doesn't have to be a great story it can be a decent story or just a story that has some important detail and effects batman over all. I just honestly want more batman books to read.

Long Halloween and DV are waiting on my desk still.I cannot wait until I start.I'm waiting for a good time so I can read it straight through.

I plan on getting Trinity by Wagner next. Was his Monster Men really good?

Last Bats I read was Year One.I personally loved it.It wasn't about action or villains but what drives a man to dress up as a Bat in the first place.Great dark and gritty stuff.

can someone pls tell me why Dick left?
I have not read the story yet but some one said you have to read Nightwing year one. Or you could go to wikipedia.org and look up nightwing/ Dick Grayson

but he also felt batman and him had different ideals and methods...in other words...they were growing apart from each other

Nightwing Year One retconned it into that Batman was a complete *****ebag because Robin had other duties such as being the leader of the Teen Titans and Batman only thought that his sole duty was being Batman's second man.

i haven't read it yet, but i'm going to
