A Live Action Batman Beyond movie is it a good idea?

One thing to keep in mind is that Batman Beyond worked so well because it built on one of the greatest animated shows of all time.

Half of the show was old Bruce Wayne and carryovers from his era (one way or another).

A Batman Beyond movie could be good, but it doesn't have that foundation to build on. In fact, it doesn't have any foundation (can't use the Nolanverse).

You could easily use the Nolanverse if the makers gave WB the go-ahead to do it, or made it themselves. It wouldn't be "Terry McGinnis", it would be a loose version of it but i wouldnt say "it cant happen".

But as a straight up adaptation, what it would it be built on? Well..probably the reboot.

Yes I agree. But why not use the 'Burtonverse'? It seems perfect for Beyond treatment if you use Keaton. Disregard other films, give a good blend of nostalgia and the new. Even reference Nicholson's Joker.

Using the Burton-verse/Keaton would be the best way to go

I've been reading the recent Batman Beyond books. I definitely want Blight and Inque as the villains

Yeah, I read those too...Justice League Beyond and Superman Beyond are another two franchises that might have some promise, in the far off, distant, idyllic utopian future I imagine where these kinds of things are given movies.

I honestly believe that it is the villains that will keep this movie from happening. A new Batman can easily be sold if we also have Wayne in the movie, vilains are a lot harder to sell. This is why we dont see many on screen.

I think Blight and Inque would be pretty easy to sell.

Agreed. If you have the compelling character of Batman, audiences will see it. It's actually a great way to make these villains more popular.

None of the mainstream audience know any Iron Man villains, but that doesn't stop the films from doing well. Same principle.

I love the contrast between Blight and Inque too.

I think Harrison Ford would be a great older Bruce Wayne just a shame I don't like the guy much.

Harrison Ford would be great as Bruce Wayne......the only problem I see is that Ford has too much of a nice guy image.

I'd love to see this because Batman Beyond was awesome. I'd rather see that than ANYTHING DC seems to be planning on right now. Not sure how successful it would be. Many Batfans annoyingly hate the idea of somebody other than Bruce being Batman.

I dont mind somebody else being Batman at all, but i do think Bruce should be mentioned a few times or have some kind of a role.

And i just dont see Ford making a good Wayne.

Terry McGinnis is the only person I want to see playing Batman other than Bruce Wayne.
They better not make that Robin Blake character from Dark Knight Rises and make him Batman. That would be disaster.

I was ok w/him until the name reveal

Exactly my stance. Name reveal was hokey.

I definitely want Terry McGuinness, only I do think they would need to streamline his story a little from the DCAU - his origin is a little too convoluted for a film (even though I really like how it's told across the animated shows).

I honestly hope they'd leave the biological son part out tho. It's like they did that to please Bruce fanboys. Wasn't needed. His origin was perfect b4 that.

My ideal BB movie was made in 1985 by Ridley Scott and starred Tom Cruise as Terry with Lee Marvin as Bruce.
