A Live Action Batman Beyond movie is it a good idea?

I know the guy looks older now, but I could see Kevin Zegers as Terry McGinnis if it was just few years earlier.
And yeah, Lee Marvin would've been great as Bruce Wayne.

I honestly hope they'd leave the biological son part out tho. It's like they did that to please Bruce fanboys. Wasn't needed. His origin was perfect b4 that.

Yeah, in live action I just don't think that convoluted story would work.

It somewhat worked in the DCAU just because it built up progressively through the various series.

But overall I agree - Terry McGuinness doesn't need to be Bruce Wayne's biological son to be a strong Batman.

I wish they'd left that out of the series tbh it wasn't needed I know Alan Burnett wasn't keen on the idea.

My vote is for Olga Kurylenko (from Quantum of Solace) to play Inque. (BTW she would have been a great Talia too...)

:hrt: Awesome choice dude, most impressive.

My ideal BB movie was made in 1985 by Ridley Scott and starred Tom Cruise as Terry with Lee Marvin as Bruce.

Wow this is actually such an insanely good idea. Personally Id have Clint Eastwood in the role of Bruce though, as uninspired as it is, he's always going to be my ideal Batman Beyond Bruce.

what about Nicholas Hoult(X Men First Class,A Single Man,About A Boy) as Terry?

solid actor
22 years old
6'2

Yeah some people were suggesting him for Robin, but personally I think hed make a better Terry, nice choice dude. He wouldnt be my first pick but I wouldnt mind it one bit

I wouldn't mind seeing this, a new approach that honors the past but clearly establishes a new status quo

I think he'd make a cool Quicksilver but that's a different issue :) !
Btw, if we are to have more Batman, I'd like to see Robin or Batgirl or something, just to have a different dynamic for ol' bats to work with.

The actor for Beast playing Quicksilver isn't out of the realm of possibility.

Ezra Miller for Terry
Michael Fassbender with make up for Bruce(I couldn't think of anyone)
Jason Isaccs for Blight
Sigourney Weaver for Commissioner Barbara Gordon

I'm definitely digging all those choices, except for Fassbender. While he would make a great Batman, I dont think the makeup used today to age people is advanced enough. Guy Pearce in Prometheus and Leonardo DiCaprio in J Edgar prove that.

Id prefer an older actor. Not Michael Keaton though like some are suggesting. Id rather not have a Batman Beyond have ties to Burtons series.

I could honestly see a slimmer Alec Baldwin in the role haha... Or Timothy Dalton maybe?

Stephen Lang could be good I guess..

All this talk of an older Batman made me want to cast The Dark Knight Returns Joker... and for that, the only man who can do it justice would be David Bowie!!!!

If they do Beyond, they should do it right, and have it as a one-off film that is set in its own universe. Not Burtons, not Nolans, not Shumachers, not even the next series. I used to think it was a good idea to string it to Batman/Batman Returns but they shouldnt confuse things only because it would be cool to get Keaton back in the franchise.

As far as im concerned, when this next series is over with. In say..10 years? I hope WB starts adapting comics to live-action, and concepts like Beyond. A Batman Beyond adaptation, a Batman: Year One set in the 70's, possibly a Killing Joke or Dark Knight Returns adaptation eventually.

I think by the time we get Beyond, there will be no possibility of choosing your Eastwoods, Fords etc. Maybe Alec Baldwin could be good or maybe the actor to play Bruce is an actor in his 50's currently. And our Terry McGinnis is just a teenager at the moment who may or may not have started in the business yet.

I only did Fass as old Bruce because I couldn't think of a good choice.

Michael Fassbender is like 35. How is he supposed to play someone
in 70s?

Have you no imagination, American Hobo?

Its Hollywood

They could do it just like how Guy Pearce played an old ass man in Prometheus

 did you just read the first two responses on this page? dont answer that, im positive you did. Guy Pearce looked like **** in Prometheus I agree. I was just saying why he suggested Fass

Why cast someone so young and make him look so old?
They should cast someone who is actually old for Bruce Wayne.

I disagree that technology and make-up isn't advanced enough to make someone old. I think pearce looked just fine. Maybe his face was a bit overly-wrinkly, but I thought it added an extra bit of creepiness to him. Benjamin Button did a good job with Pitt and making him old. If they find the right people to execute it, I'm sure it could be done just fine.

Bottom line is I think it can be done if they really wanted to go that route.

I never thought about Conroy actually playing a live action bruce but that was would be cool.

I'm still for Eastwood right now as my number 1 choice of old Bruce, Keaton is growing on me.

This movie - even if made- won't be done for a long time -imho. anyone who may be a bit younger than what Batman Beyond bruce is like keaton or conroy , by the time it does get rolling will have aged even more and probably strengthen our suggestions of them now.

Conroy as the older Bruce haha, it would be the only time i could accept him in a live-action Batman movie. And it would get fans excited. Conroy playing Wayne without putting on a suit or acting like the playboy, just being..Bruce. I might be OK with that.

I'd be happy with Conroy but I could never see it happening.

I'd also be happy with this being stand-alone.

I just think that from a marketing strategy it would be very clever to have Keaton as Bruce. The added nostalgia factor would really boost interest in the film (a little similar to Arnie in Expendables).

It doesn't have to directly connect to Burton's movies really...only vaguely. Even Batman Returns only vaguely connected to 89 after all.

Plus I like the idea that he is both young enough to show us some flashbacks of old Batman and old enough to play the 70s Bruce with a little makeup.

I would love a Batman Beyond movie. DC's biggest problem with movies in the past is they gripe so tightly to realism and human emotion when truth being their characters abilities are so over the top they need to unroot a bit from reality. Iron man on film makes the Beyond suit easy to believe.

Casting! Bruce Wayne I think needs to be Kevin Conroy or Harrison Ford. The 6th degrees of Bat-separation would be phenomenal. Terry Mcguinness... Much like everyone else, I'm thinking a new, young, relatively unknown actor.

If Beechen can continue in the comics, I'd say it is feasible.

Christopher Plummer as Bruce Wayne

Max-Von-Sydow_Extremely-Loud.jpg

He is a actor that is well known and has the look of someone that has been in a world of fighting and a lot of stress on himself. Someone in the dark realm of his life. He has played villains in action films and good guys so its not too far from Bruce in older years. Add a cane and there you go. He will be a serious, tough and hard headed Bruce.

Zac Efron as Terry McGinnis/Batman

zac-efron-1347119189.jpg

Not many I can think of but looking through images, Zac does have the look. I am not sure of his acting ability in a action film or anything but im basing him off looks and not talent acting as of yet.
