I got jipped once for being too kind, so that was in my mind.
Since we are on the subject of compassion I thought I'd let you know the word "gypped" is a racial slur. For future reference.

I've given out extra change in my pockets and such.
Ive never given more than 5$ and that was to 3 young "hippies" but only after they recited a line of Shakespeare for me :p They needed gas money.

I never thought about that before, probably because I've never seen the word spelled correctly. It's a derogatory term for Gypsie. Make a verb out of it and there it is. I don't remember if I ever used that word before but I sure won't ever use it again. Thanks, 7Hells.

usually no.
evvvvvery now and then yes, and that's just because they won't **** off.
but you did the right thing.
my ex and i had a friend who was super strung out and he would go to grocery store and department store parking lots and take his tire off and act like he was fixing it and tell people he just needed a few dollars to get a new one.

he would usually end up leaving with a hundred dollars, sometimes more, and then go blow it all on dope.

if they want money, the can get a job.
and if not, start walking.

But he got extra points for getting down on his knee, hand on heart with the other up in delivery. He seemed pretty excited to do it too. Pushed his girlfriend out of the way. lol
Did Shakespeare write Beowulf? I thought it was still anonymous

Sometimes, every few weeks or so I'll give a bum a bit of change.

I voted no,but i have given money to people in the past.Always women, since they are pitiful, but one must use their own judgement and common sence when helping out.

^Same here. The cops or the firefighter association. I do give money to the firefighter organizations in our area, since I've been friends w/ a couple for a while, and budget cutbacks are murdering their pay, but I don't really donate to the cops.

One called my house and tried to goad me into giving money to law enforcement; I told him that Uncle Sam's wallet was never-ending and mine wasn't a forthcoming. It was like no wasn't the answer he would accept, so I hung up.

Usually, I have no problem saying no or screw you to adults, but the kids always make me reach for my wallet. (d*** urchins:cmad:) I'll see a bake sale or troops selling cookies and I'll try to dodge it, but it they ask, I just give them a few bucks. I rarely even eat dessert items, so the crap's either given away or thrown out. . .:(
Yeah.
We, at least, know that bake sale kids/scouts and such are not trying to get the money for drugs, etc.
