Wizard posted this on their website. I have to say I'm a little shocked, considering the hype Marvel put on this character. But this is definitely interesting.
Um, what does this prove? That the person he's talking to is a skrull? The skrull could easily just be saying that because he doens't believe that this character is still alive and is just some imposter since he's a major skrull enemy. The wizard article says nothing to prove this character is a skrull, so I don't see how this proves anything right now.
sure it is possible that marvel and wizard are playing a fast one on us and are showing these panels out of context. but considering the fact that this was promoted as having ties to secret invasion, and the character's current status in the MU, i'd say it at least warrants discussion.
it might not be as it seems...cap's been gone a while..the skrulls hated him and now miraculously he's back from the dead the skrulls will be reluctant to believe he's returned..hence the you are not captain marvel line.
but then again...it could be true..never know in this crazy world of comic books!!
They probably should've advertised it as a cliffhanger rather than a big revelation, then. The whole thing just reminds me of Thor's "return" in Civil War. It was marketed everywhere as the real Thor's real return, but it turned out to just be a clone/cyborg. That's uncomfortably deceptive to me.
I've already invested time and money into Captain Marvel; hoping to read about the return of a character I wish I'd read about earlier. If this whole thing was just for a skrull revelation, I'll be pretty pissed.
from what i've heard there was nothing really outstanding about mar-vell as a character and his stories were never considered classics. apparently his best story was his death, and that's what made him such an icon.
