Wizard posted this on their website. I have to say I'm a little shocked, considering the hype Marvel put on this character. But this is definitely interesting.

Um, what does this prove? That the person he's talking to is a skrull? The skrull could easily just be saying that because he doens't believe that this character is still alive and is just some imposter since he's a major skrull enemy. The wizard article says nothing to prove this character is a skrull, so I don't see how this proves anything right now.

sure it is possible that marvel and wizard are playing a fast one on us and are showing these panels out of context. but considering the fact that this was promoted as having ties to secret invasion, and the character's current status in the MU, i'd say it at least warrants discussion.

At least it would make a little more sense as to why he just reappeared out of nowhere.

it might not be as it seems...cap's been gone a while..the skrulls hated him and now miraculously he's back from the dead the skrulls will be reluctant to believe he's returned..hence the you are not captain marvel line.
but then again...it could be true..never know in this crazy world of comic books!!

(but i hope not!!)

the panel comes from an issue that is billed as the reveal of the reason for his return. it does hint that he is a Skrull.

Yeah, except it doesn't actually reveal anything. That's the mighty Marvel style of storytelling for you.

They probably should've advertised it as a cliffhanger rather than a big revelation, then. The whole thing just reminds me of Thor's "return" in Civil War. It was marketed everywhere as the real Thor's real return, but it turned out to just be a clone/cyborg. That's uncomfortably deceptive to me.

The only reveal is that Cobalt Man is apparently a Skrull.

A guy who got blowed up along with everybody else in the stamford Disaster.

Now he's got a greenie running around, posing as him, touching his stuff. Making him look bad by getting his ass handed to him by Captain 70's hair.

Just like Ma--Nah, too easy.

It would actually be pretty cool if Marv turned out to be a sleeper Skrull or something.

I've already invested time and money into Captain Marvel; hoping to read about the return of a character I wish I'd read about earlier. If this whole thing was just for a skrull revelation, I'll be pretty pissed.

Conversely, I've laughed at his return and ignored his mini-series, so I'd find it hilarious. :)

If he is a skrull, I'm trading in The Return and his mini for old stories lol

You should've done that to begin with. Or, better yet, Genis-Vell stories. :)

from what i've heard there was nothing really outstanding about mar-vell as a character and his stories were never considered classics. apparently his best story was his death, and that's what made him such an icon.

I thought it was going to reveal Ms Marvel as a skrull
