*Obligatory introduction* Following the reveal at the end of New Avengers #51, Bendis has stated that there are many other Skrulls hiding among the MU heroes but hinted that some of the "obvious" ones (Iron Man, Cap) won't be. *Obligatory introduction*

So...obviously either Jessica Jones or Luke Cage (a Bendis creation and a character that Bendis treats like his own creation) is a Skrull based on the "Skrullish" eyes of their baby. What I'm wondering is how long Jones/Cage has been a Skrull. Bendis has stated himself that the Skrull thing has been "in the works" for 2-3 years which seems to be how long he's been jocking Cage and Jones.

Personally, I think it'd be hilarious if the new, Bendis-revived Luke Cage has been a Skrull the entire time he was on the Avengers (which his joining of seemed totally out of left-field). I like the guy since he's been put in the forefront but what if the Luke Cage I enjoyed was a Skrull imposter the entire time? Has the Skrull imposter been so sneaky that he managed to sneak into the video game, Marvel Ultimate Alliance? The old Luke Cage would've never been able to accomplish such a feat.:woot:

This may also spell even worse for Peter Parker's ego, considering the fact that his best friend on the Avengers was an alien spy who was essentially using him.

It's funny, cause this is one the main reasons people hated the Clone Saga so much. People felt insulted when they were told that the Peter Parker they've followed for the last 20 years had been an imposter. I suppose the difference in this instance is that Bendis had planned on certain characters being Skrulls for the last few years rather than relying on a retcon. He claims that there are several nods and winks hinting towards the identity of the Skrulls hidden through the last 2-3 years of comics. I'm curious to what these actually are. I UNDERSTAND the hatred towards the Clone Saga (even though it's my favorite period of Spidey comics) because I hated the fact that Peter was fake too. But, if Bendis is promising us an interesting ride that he's planned out for a while, then I wanna sit back, enjoy it, and try to find his clues.

I still Cap isn't dead, he's hiding out with Nick Fury, who knew all along about the Skrull invasion, hence his hiding out. And IronMan is a skrull also. Ultron can do a lot of things but he can't reshape human flesh.

Following the reveal at the end of New Avengers #51... which was?

Elektra was a Skrull.

I also assumed the Baby was a Skrull....but I guess it could be one of the parents.

Also let's just get a quick recap of all the Skrull Activity recently in the Marvel U (They are popping up a lot)

Avengers Dissasembled: During the Kree Invasion...watch closely, one Skrull can easily be seen.

Runaways: Xavin is a Skrull

Young Avengers: Hulklin is half Skrull, and his 'mother' was a Skrull

Marvel Team Up: Titannus was a new Skrull Villain thrown into the mix.

Marvel Team Up, Again: Fredom Ring's partner Crusader was a Skrull.

Just a bunch of Skrulls coming up in every Corner of the Universe....

heh heh woops

i meant 31

i also didn't notice there was a "WHO DO YOU TRUST" thread (I was trying to find something like that). Ignore this then. :woot:

I have a bad feeling that Marvel might use these Skrulls as a giant eraser for all the butchering they have done to a lot of characters....

I have a good feeling that Marvel might use these Skrulls as a giant eraser for all the butchering they have done to a lot of characters. I'd prefer erasing some of the crap from their histories rather than just overlooking it, and it's gotta get done somehow. The one thing I'm worried about is that Joe Q is going to have MJ turn out to be a Skrull or some nonsense, effectively annulling her marriage to Peter and making Peter a swingin' bachelor straight out of the '70s again. :o

Please, please, please...

Norman slept with a Gwen Skrull, and produced Skrull Goblins.

This would make me soooo happy!

What do you guys think is going to happen with Spidey's identity? Do the Skrulls have something to do with it?

I have been saying that for a while,
the Skrulls can be used to undo stuff that fans didn't like, mostly Tony being such a jerk and Peter exposing his identity as Spider Man to the world.

So does that mean, that ever since Elektra came back, years and years and years and years ago, that she was a Skrull? All these years? Or is Elektra still out there somewhere and this was a Skrull pretending to be her, not taking over for her?

Please, please, please...

Norman slept with a Gwen Skrull, and produced Skrull Goblins.

So in the actual story did Gwen sleep with Norman, get pregnant, have his twin babies?
Did they grow to be as old as Peter? Or where they actually clones? Or what was the story with this again?

I've been speculating on this for weeks and after reviewing several inconsistancies with the character in the past, I've deduced--
Hulklings a skrull.

Wouldn't that mean she was a skrull from the begining. I doubt this goes back that far.

If someone can post the link, I believe there's a little blurb beneath an upcoming New Avengers ish that says something like, "Cage vs. his wife!?!" or something like that. My guess is Jones is a skrull, tho Cage isn't out of the water on that either. I doubt tho his big push would be that the real Cage is dead and he's a skrull thus destroying the big push he's gotten, Jones isn't nearly as well known tho, and can easily not upset most fans if revealed as a half or full skrull.

Part of me wishes it'd be revealed that the real Cap was hiding with Fury at the end, or was kidnapped and it was a Skrull Cap that surrendered, and Tony was hiding the Skrull Cap's dead body. That would cheapen what Cap's death tho, and go back to the "dead doesn't mean dead" deal Marvel always does. So part of me hopes it won't be revealed as that.

I hate this tho, clones first and now skrulls. One of my big beefs with Marvel is how everytime someone dies, or defies continuity it's always a clone. Spiderman dies!?! Oh it's ok, it was just Spiderman's clone. Dr. Doom was beat!?!?! Oh it's ok, it was just one of his Doom bots.

If they didn't make the mistakes in the first place, and watched what they printed a bit closer they wouldn't have to erase so many things in this manner. It also makes an entire years worth of stories invalid if it turns out key players in that story weren't really who they appeared to be.

maybe BOTH the cages are skrull

I doubt Bendis is gonna reveal that the real Jessica Jones is dead, even if the one with the New Avengers is a Skrull. She's his character and he seems to like her a lot. I imagine he'll reveal Jessica's a Skrull, or maybe just the baby is a Skrull, and then have a story where Luke hunts down the real deal or use Luke's emotional turmoil over that to spark the humans' involvement in the new Kree/Skrull War everyone at Marvel has said is coming.

I'd rather it was a Human/Skrull war. The Kree got enough going on.

It may be. Given that the Kree are such a fixture of Annihilation now, they may want to keep them in that sphere. A human/Skrull war would place more emphasis on the Skrull infiltration of Earth, too.

Especially if it's a last hope invasion seeing as they don't have much left anymore.

Maybe it's a government conspiracy. You know - Skrull and Bones. ;)
