The Story: WOLVERINE VERSUS THE HOOD!! LUKE CAGE VERSUS JESSICA JONES!! What?? The New Avengers try to learn to live and love each other now that they know they cannot trust each other. And baby Cage's name is revealed!!
32 PGS./Rated A …$2.99

Luke cage vs. Jessica Jones. That tells me one finds out the other is a skrull and they have a short fight. It also says they can't trust eachother. Also the Cage's baby being named also is weird that it hasn't happened before now.

The only reason I said that Jessica Jones could be dead is because if the baby is half Skrull, that means that whichever is not a Skrull got busy with the imposter. If whoever the skrull is impersonating has been gone for that long, I don't they'd be happy to come back and find their spouse has been getting it on with that skrull and had a baby with it.

Edit - and DD with boobs...so wrong :( (I'm sure it's Echo, but just the DD look with boobs tacked on is so wrong lol).

If it were Skrulls per se, what would be the motive? The Skrull Empire's been wiped out! Damn near extinction from the way Annihilation tells it.

maybe they want to start a NEW skrull empire on earth:ninja:

They want their kids to be minorities and use affirmative action to get into good schools.

This is why I think it's a great introduction for a new species. Alien/human hybrids replacing the old mutant population. It will shake the status quo, and it will give the X-Men and Magneto something else to worry about.

One More Day is about MJ and her skrullness.

Good. Then he and Johnny Storm can form the "I Married a Skrull" club. Unfortunately, Janet Van Dyne might not become a member. Hank Pym is most probably all human.

Because only humans are prone to domestic violence??

Nah, I really feel that Space related stuff should stay solely in the hands of the Annihilation writers. These "Skrulls" couldn't possibly want to start a New Skrull Empire at the time of Civil War since Annihilation was already beginning. If there were Skrulls on planet at the time, the current galactic situation should have changed their agenda drastically

Assuming they've heard of it. As far as I know, the only news Earth has received of what happened in space is Nova's conversations with his parents and Tony Stark.

I thought the deal was the because the Homeworld was destroyed by the Annihilation Wave, the Skrulls were actively trying to take over Earth again.

We don't know what the deal is because all we've seen so far that directly ties into it is the fact that Elektra was replaced by a Skrull. The way I've heard it, she was acting pretty out of character as far back as Wolverine's "Enemy of the State" arc. If that was the Skrull imposter too, the Skrulls would've obviously been infiltrating Earth for a while before the Annihilation Wave hit.

I'm just going by what Bendis' implications were. But then again...they were Bendis' implications.

Bendis implied the Skrulls were invading because of the Annihilation Wave? I don't remember that.

This conspiracy has the potential to be quite great. But...I nevertheless remain sceptical of the whole business.

Ya, Nova spoke about it to a select few as well. S.H.I.E.L.D. probably knows about it thru Stark or a briefing with Nova as well. He also spoke to Justice and Pennance, but not necessarily about the war (I'd have to read thru Nova 2-3 again, I forget).

The Skrulls might have heard of it tho. There's a part of Annihilation where Nova sets over Earth in a ship (and makes some great comments on how stupid CW was in the comic world if not the real world :woot:). So I'm sure Skrulls could have easily relayed info to a few rogue members on Earth if they wanted to. The Skrulls will be looking for a new homeworld as Annihilation hit them hard so who knows.

No, not that. When asked why the Skrulls were invading Earth for the millionth time, and what makes them think they'll be successful this time, he replied with something along the lines of them having to be successful. That they have nowhere else to go being that their home is gone.

Ya Marvel's going into a paranoia stage lol. There was Apocalypse hearing someone say "It's almost time" or something like that. CW has heroes at heroes throats. Is that Cap's real body!?!? Hulk is back and is after the Illuminaty, but did they really set a bomb on the ship to destroy the reactor!?! Skrulls are running rampant on Earth, how far up the food chain do they go? Is MJ going to die!?

Dramatization lol, but you get the point. So many, "Whats going to happen, who was that?" story lines going on atm. I wonder if the Skrull build up will get lost in all of them. It would be neat if it turned out Shield was comprimised, and that's why Fury's still in hiding, waiting to expose it and get his spot back.

Ah, okay. It's very likely that they did at least hear about the Annihilation War, so that probably makes sense. I still don't think the Skrull invasion started because of the Annihilation Wave, though. I think they were already here and now, because of the Wave, they realize that they really, really need to make this invasion work.

Right. And you can bet there's zero chance of Bendis letting his storyline happen because of someone else's storyline.

So long as he never writes anything in the Annihilation line, that's fine by me.

if its a petion to fire bendis from marvel I'LL sign it:ninja:

I wouldn't want to fire him. I actually do enjoy some of his stuff. He's just not the well rounded writer he and Marvel seem to think he is.

I'd sign a petition that forces Bendis to quit decompressing his stories so much. If he could write more comics the way he writes Mighty Avengers, things might actually happen in the Marvel universe on a month-to-month basis, rather than in 6-month jumps.
