Ausiello: We asked the Once creators about the midseason premiere, which airs March 9 and is titled “New York City Serenade.” But other than confirming that the Bruce Springsteen fan in him had a hand in coming up with that title, Adam Horowitz would only confirm, “There’s a lot of Emma in that episode, that is for sure.”

Im guessing they weren't allowed to use Rufio outside of the brief reference of Hook saying something along the lines of "remember what i did to Rufio".

Rufio isn't a Disney owned property so Im guessing that's ultimately why they didn't go beyond that. Otherwise the tall blonde could have easily been him

Now you know he aint gone for good. He didnt stab himself and he/his father dissapeared in a flash of light. If anything he is probably in some dimension.

I don't know why Emma/Snow didn't remember part of FTL escaping the curse, if Cora could produce magic powerful enough to save that spot, I am sure Emma/Regina/Rumple couldve done the same for storybrooke.

Though I am glad that everyone is supposedly going back to FTL, and since magic is still out there in our world I am sure Emma will find a way back to everyone. The book seems to have been produced from magic in order to be a failsafe so I am sure something will be created to give Emma and Henry their memories back.

But at least this should be the end to Regina/Rumple being villains.

2nd half of the season looks like it will be exciting. Bring on the Wicked Witch!
