Eh, I don't mind Ursula. And I'll say I prefer the original Mal costume. Ya know, when the show wasn't desperately trying to carbon copy the Disney characters.

I welcome Ursula's look with open arms.

Oh you. :atp:

But no, this costume is much better. :o

Also, are those three going to wear those same ****ing outfits the entire rest of the season like Elsa and Anna?

Depends on the situation id imagine. Elsa made her clothes out of ice and well anna wasnt in storybrooke very long.

But no, we have seen ursula in civies already

I miss when Regina's Evil Queen had a new fabulous outfit every episode. :atp:

I like most of regina's. Just hate the hairdo cone head pony tail she use to wear... like in the snow white wedding . Ugh, it looked hideous

Yeah, that's the one exception. Oof. :o

As spideyboy said, at least Ursula will have a different outfit for Storybrooke:

But this just convinces me further that they aren't that big of TLM with it being the least faithful adaption they have done thus far.

I don't see how The Little Mermaid is the least faithful adaption they have done. It had almost all important stuff from the cartoon just twisted a little bit. What about Pan, Wicked Witch, Beauty and the Beast.... All these are completely different from the original. The fact is that it was Lana's dream since she was a kid to play Ursula, and they gave that to her complete with the iconic look and moments from the story. They should of just merged Ursula and Regina into one character like they did with Rumple and the Beast instead of creating this new Ursula that looks nothing like her and has no connection to Little Mermaid.

They said that Maleficent may have multiple costumes.

Shouldn't you be obsessing over Reginas potential broken heart in the next episode instead of making somewhat sense? lol.

While they have changed other fairy tales, Pan still had Neverland/Hook as an enemy/Lost Boys/Wendy, they just changed up how it all went down.

It's great as gravy that Lana wanted to play Ursula, but thank god they didn't combine the two. Ursula is one of the most popular Disney Villains, she deserves her own story. But they shouldn't have reworked TLM so much to the point that the only thing they have in common is Ariel/Eric hooking up. Don't be messing with my favorite Disney movie, it will cause me to go ALL lima heights.

Ariel still got her legs from Queen Ursula/saved Eric from shipwreck/Queen Ursula took her voice because Ariel broke her part of the deal, they just changed up how it all went down.

It wasn't Ursula, Ariel didn't sacrifice her voice for legs, EVERYTHING went down differently or didnt happen at all.

Like every other fairytale except Frozen...

And it was horrible (like every other fairytale) and I didn't appreciate it.

Wait, so are you saying you ONLY like the Frozen stuff since it's the only time they stuck to the exact looks and storylines of the characters?

What I love about the show since season one is that it takes known characters but gives you a new take on them with new twists and sometimes even new personalities. That's why I never minded the original Maleficent design, and I don't mind how Ursula looks now. And why I had a major problem with the Frozen schtick this season, even though I've still enjoyed this season as a whole so far...

Now don't go putting words in my mouth. I'm just talking about TLM. I'm fine with changing things if it enhances the story and makes it better or interesting turn of events but nothing they did with TLM was an improvement and more of step backwards.

... Get over it? They tweak every story to what they need.

No.

I don't see how it's a step backwards. They plucked characters from TLM to use in a storyline the same way they did every other fairytale/disney character.

I agree with both. I like the changes in the stories, but TLM story and usage was basterdized and has probably been the worst and most pointless retelling thus far.

We've seen that Regina has a past with Maleficent and Ursula, but are we going to learn of any connections with Cruella De Vil as well?

LP:
Yes you will. They have crossed paths in the past and these are all women that she knows very well, very deeply. She is closest to Maleficent — she and maleficent were dear friends at one point. So I think it's going to be a bittersweet reunion for these four women.

TLM story was wasted which is sad given that they hyped it up for three seasons, hell are we even going to see Ariel come face to face with the real Ursula? Of all the stories done I was most disappointed in that one and I'm not even TLM's biggest fan.

The Little Mermaid is my favorite Disney movie and I'm super happy with how Once has done it!

We all know why you're happy about how it turned out.

But a 3 year hype did not live up to to itself.

She got the same treatment as Cinderella and Repunzel and so many others. I don't expect this show to retell ever popular Disney fairytale as a major plot point. It's never been about doing that.

I don't expect them to retell every fairytale when they bring in these characters but i would've preferred it if they had just acted as if some version of TLM happened and treated the character as a sort of sequel like they did with Frozen/Peter Pan/Wicked Witch.

The original fairy tale is already dark, the Disney version lighted it up a bit but ONCE just brightened the hell out of the Disney version which annoyed me.

But don't take away Ariel making a deal with Ursula, giving up her fins/voice/family for legs, and Ursulas hatred for that family for some watered down version of Regina pretending to be Ursula, Ariels legs coming with no price, her never meeting Ursula, Regina taking her voice out of the blue because she didn't help her in bringing down Snow White.
