I need to say that Leroy is annoying as hell. He won't ever cross the line but he'll volunteer the others to do it when a curse happens.

Wonder if Merlin is Responsible for the Current Curse I have no idea why or who trapped the guy in a tree to begin with and why did they trap him in a tree? Seems Suspcisious if you ask me and for a a show that turned heroes like Peter Pan evil you come to expect that Merlin could actually be evil especially since the current curse has u turning into a tree when u step out of Storybrooke.

Did you somehow miss the part where Emma blatantly admitted to being responsible for bringing everyone back to Storybrooke, erasing their memories, and casting the new curse on the town line?

I'm loving Dark Swan . So, I'm thinking Merlin might be a bad guy? He was probably trapped inside the tree cause of that and also, now branches eat(?) you when you try to cross the boundary. So, that might have a connection. And, Leroy is just grating everytime he shows up. Someone should shove his ass across the town boundary line :o.

Oh look, Charon. Guess I might be getting my wish for Hades sometime in the future.

Hades was the first thing that came to my mind when I saw that. Would love for him to show up.

I think Hades is going to be the second half of the season's big baddie. I don't think they will bring him in yet while we're seeing the Dark Swan arc.

Hades was very heavily alluded to... from the Furies to the Underworld... to Charon... He totally now most certainly exists in OUAT lore... as do the rest of the Greek Pantheon since we also saw Poseidon last season. Hopefully we get Hercules too.. and not side-step him like they did with Aladdin, Jasmine, and "Genie"... or pull a "goddess" Ursula who is never actually seen...

So will this be an original Hercules, or the Disney Hercules from the 1997 animated film?

Also, still waiting for the inevitable Dracula crossover, hopefully, in color.

id prefer animated... but it will likely be more mythical

im still pissed they didn't decide to give us a fun "victorian monster world" episode each season... as a one-off for halloween....

it would have been fun to see Dracula, the Invisible Man, etc...

oh and side note... about merlin's age... i wonder if they're playing off the litterature? Merlin is suppose to age backwards (like benjamin button)

Whatever about Hercules, but just give me Disney-style Hades. :o

Wait, so

Lancelot, Kay, and Percival are all dead now, right? That seems...wasteful. :oldrazz:

i like Emma so far this season but I am not convinced she is the villain.

Maybe show how the dark ones magic and hades and the underworld are connected ?

Or not lol

Did laugh at the scene where Emma and Regina where talking in Marlins tower and cause Regina had the dagger, Emma had to say thank you etc

Loving Emma's dark one wardrobe this season.

They can do whatever they want for the rest of the Olympian gods but Disney Hades, please. Maybe even get James Woods... in a black robe with grey skin and flaming blue hair. Ok? Ok.

I can totally see James Woods as Hades.

Yes, animated, meaning his voice alone. His appearance though I can see translating as well.

actually not voice alone... disney animation studios typically references the voice actors movements and facial expressions as well.... sometimes even slight instances of their appearances come through as well..

so it's really not a far cry to see some James Woods in Hades

ABC’s fairy tale mash-up series Once Upon A Time is enjoying a series of heel turns in its fifth season, and from the Dark Swan on down, the shows many shadowy reveals got a spotlight Friday at New York Comic Con.

The proceedings started with an early viewing of this week’s episode “Siege Perilous.” The hour pushed forward the parallel quests to capture the power of the sword Excalibur while – spoiler warnings! – [blackout]King Arthur was revealed to be working against the citizens of Storybrooke for his own potentially nefarious ends. Meanwhile, the Dark Swan works to find the one person who can pull the fabled Arthurian Stone from the stone by tapping everyone from Hook to a no longer dark Mr. Gold in an attempt to gain more power.[/blackout]

Once the episode was done, the Dark Swan herself, actress Jennifer Morrison, took the stage alongside series creators Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis.

“It’s been a while that we wanted to [make Emma dark,]” Horowitz said while Kitsis noted that last season put them in a position to push full on into the story. “This season is more about her struggle,” he said.

“It’s good to be bad,” Morrison said, adding “It’s been a really wonderful challenge to be able to start Season 5 of a show and create something totally new. I felt like I was in a whole new show in some ways. Her struggle has been very real and very intense, and as an actor it’s been great to play.”

The producers said that Morrison took a heavy hand in creating the visual style of her new character. “I’ve been working in this business a long time, and I never felt so trusted by my bosses to participate in the creative process like this,” she said. “We went through images and different fairy tales I was reading and articles I’ve found, and through that we built the Dark Swan.”

Addressing the mind of the character, Morrison said, “Dark Emma is complicated because Emma is still the savior. It’s not like she’s no longer Emma. She’s just the savior with darkness in her…she’s in a constant battle between the light and dark within herself. Often, she’s doing things for the right reasons but doing them in a dark way.” For example, the character both wants Hook to be by her side as her lover, but she’s also more than willing to use him to unleash the power of Excalibur.

Mystery character Merlin came up – who does appear in the show in flashback – and Kitsis said that him being a hero or a villain is not so simple. “If we think of the dark one, we know that Merlin is a sorcerer, and what we’ve seen through the Apprentice is that he can be a force for good.”

Speaking of that line between light and dark, Regina’s role as the formerly evil queen came up. “As much as she grows and changes, her past and who she was is still very much a part of her,” Horowitz said. Coming up, Robin Hood, Regina and others will take on their own mission.

Also returning to the show is the series’ version of Lancelot – a character who has appeared in the past in a somewhat fakeout. Next week’s episode will focus on the classic love triangle of Camelot between Arthur, Lancelot and Guinevere. The producers said that the villainous Morgan le Fay will not appear in the show, but that next week’s episode will go into the back story of the first Dark One who they jokingly referred to as “Steve.”

The show’s romances – a particular fan favorite aspect of the show came up – and Kitsis said, “Henry’s will break your heart” but all the relationships will receive shakeups this season.

Princess Merida of Brave fame appears next week before taking a significant role in the November 15 special two-parter episode. It will feature a team-up between Merida, Mulan and Ruby. Also in the offing are more secrets from Hook’s past including an appearance by his father and a story involving his connection to the Evil Queen.

So does this mean that Ruby was somewhere in the diner when it went back to EF?

She's wearing her Pre-Storybrooke attire, so I'm more inclined to think flashbacks.

Or maybe the last time they all went to the EF, Ruby just stayed behind when everyone else was sent to Storybrooke somehow. I know we saw her in the EF when the original curse was undone to send everyone back, but I don't know if we'd seen her since when everyone was back in Storybrooke.

I thought we saw her in Storybrooke when Zelena was stirring s*** up in 3B... I don't know, it's been awhile.

She showed up in one episode in season 3 when they were trying to get Henry to remember everything and she was there serving him lunch at the diner, and that was pretty much the last time she was there.
