Isn't the problem that a lot of cops don't do that correctly a lot of the time? Sometimes they don't show up, they don't enforce protective orders, they take people in for no reason, they threaten people, many don't know the laws they are suppose to be enforcing, they have kill kids with toy guns, they have forced false confessions, they raid the wrong houses, etc. And they get away with this stuff because of their jobs. Are you sure that's not just because they get speeding tickets?
The city that I live in is too small for a police department, but it has an RCMP detachment and the people here love the Mounties. One of them was recently killed in a casino shooting and the trees in the town were all adorned with white ribbons in the Mountie's honour. People had signs in their windows that said "Thank You RCMP" and flowers lined the sidewalks around the detachment. He was a good man and a good cop.
At the end of the day, the police are the ones you call when you're in trouble. They put their life on the line to protect you. That deserves some respect.
Jeez Feenix/Pinchy, wassamatterwidu? You obviously put on a mask and hoodie and put those six weeks of karate to good use.
Er, what? By all means, don't call the appropriate people when you have an emergency. I'm sure you can handle it on your own![]()

What the ****? That cop arrested the old man because he "swung the golf club at me while I turned the corner at 11th and Pike".Seattle Cops Sorry About Arresting 70-Year-Old Black Vet for No Reason

That is freaking ridiculous! It was clear as day on the recording that man did nothing wrong and the cop still lied about it even though she obviously knew she was being recorded. And then to make things even worse the man pleaded out like so many people do because they can't afford an attorney. This is a perfect example of how some police abuse their power

Blatant lying to falsely arrest an old man just standing on a street minding his own business. I cant believe they didnt fire her. Imagine if there was no video in this scenario. It wouldve been his word against hers and he would have lost.
The family of Ramarley Graham, the unarmed teenager shot and killed in his grandmother's bathroom by an NYPD officer in February 2012, has agreed to a $3.9 million settlement in their wrongful death lawsuit against the city, the New York Daily News reports.
Officer Richard Haste, 31, pursued Graham, 18, who was suspected of having participated in a drug deal, into his grandmother's apartment, with whom he lived. Haste confronted Graham in the bathroom before shooting him in the chest after he thought Graham was reaching for a gun. There was no gun.
A grand jury declined to re-indict Haste in August 2013 after a judge dismissed manslaughter charges on a legal technicality a few months before. An investigation by Manhattan U.S. Attorney Preet Bharara's office into possible civil rights violations in the case is ongoing.
Graham's estate, the Daily News reports, will receive $2.95 million. His mother, Constance Malcolm, will receive $40,000. His brother and grandmother, Patricia Hartley, will receive $500,000 and $450,000, respectively.
According to the suit, Haste threatened to shoot Hartley after he shot Graham in her bathroom. "Why did you shoot him? Why you killed him?" Hartley asked. "Get the f*** away before I have to shoot you, too," Haste allegedly said, before pushing her into a vase.
I called Arrow 22 when I was in trouble.
A new video appears to show a New Rochelle police officer pulling his gun on a group of black teens who had reportedly been having a snowball fight. "Don't f***ing move, guys," the officer tells them, before frisking two kneeling on the ground.
"They were having a snowball fight," a woman is heard to say in the video. "This group of guys was having a snowball fight and now a cop has a gun on them."
Two police cars are visible in the video. Talk of the Sounds reports that the officers were responding to a report of a person with a gun. The video is believed to have been taken earlier this week.
It is. But you should be angry at the person who called 911 reporting that a gun was involved.Cop Pulls Gun on Teens Reportedly Having Snowball Fight

This is just getting ridiculous at this point
He was investigating a 911 call reporting a gun, according to the Talk of the Sound.
They were called and told a gun was involved, so they assume one is until proven otherwise. It's general safety protocol.I understand that but if you see children having a snowball fight you don't pull a gun on them. If you see someone with a gun you pull your gun on that person
EDIT: Your just making excuses for them when that is unacceptable behavior for a police officer

They don't mess around when they get a call like that. They don't want to die either.

Yes and they have eyes, when all you see are children playing with snowballs you should stop the children and ask where the guy with the gun is not assume because they are black that they are the ones with gun. You are ridiculous Howlett, I could post a story about cops shooting an elderly woman with no just cause and you would still make excuses.
No I wouldn't. I'm just pointing out your clear and obvious bias.Yes and they have eyes, when all you see are children playing with snowballs you should stop the children and ask where the guy with the gun is not assume because they are black that they are the ones with gun. You keep saying "children" when the article states they were teenagers. I've seen plenty of video where an officer approaches a situation and BAM they get shot. Did anybody get shot? No.
And you post articles from all kinds of questionable sources and flaunt it around to get your "cops are evil" crusade going (I believe they call that "inciting a riot" if this weren't social media and in the public), and whenever the facts get pointed out you get offended.
No I wouldn't. I'm just pointing out your clear and obvious bias.
So because no one was waiving a gun around on the scene they should assume there isn't one after they'd been called specifically about a gun? That's dangerous and irresponsible. It's not an excuse, it's general safety precautions. It would be stupid to not take those precautions on such a call. Your problem should be with the caller(s), not the officers. But you don't care about that.
I don't care if it really WAS a snowball fight. It was reported to the officers as a gun related incident. The police responded cautiously and totally appropriately given the circumstances of the call they received...and there might have even been a gun and they didn't even shoot him as he ran away! The only snow fights we have around here are trying to get to the street after we have four snowstorms in a row.
Shocking, there really might have been a gun you say!?!

Because that wasn't completely ridiculous like this one was. So much for your theory of me disagreeing with and having an excuse for all of your posts against police.Funny how quick you are to comment on this yet I didn't hear a peep out of you for the cop that murdered a teen and threatened a grandma then the NYPD paid off the family for that incident
