The Justice Department is asking that a former police officer found guilty of violating the civil rights of Breonna Taylor in 2020 – when she was shot and killed by police in her Louisville home – be sentenced to one day in jail.

I haven’t said a whole lot about this, but I knew this cop from my criminal law days when I was a prosecutor over 20 years ago. He was a bad guy then and I was not surprised at all when he was involved in the Breonna Taylor shooting.

This is a middle finger to the people of my town by the DOJ.
