Sequels According to this... Spider-Man 4 = 2010

That is fine, but I will wait to get official word.

That seems pretty logical to me. Star Wars were at 3 year spans, so I don't think that seems too far off, especially if they need to reload the cast / director.

Sounds about right I suppose, but we need the official word.

Another 3-year wait?

*dies*

Good. Maybe in 3 years they can figure out a better script.

This was expected... if it was 09 they would be filming next spring... it would've been like filming 3/4 back to back... which we all know wasn't going to be an option. This way you have an extra year to negotiate contracts and find the right people to step in and fill shoes.

if it is 2010, then you guys can kiss Tmags and Dunst good by.....which is more than enough good news for me.

Yeah I agree they'll be gone... though Dunst did say that the trio team... if they would do a fourth installment... would want to wait a good 3/4 years... but Tobey will be too old by then so I don't think they'll be back. I don't think 2010 necessarily means they will be gone... I just don't want Sony to go through signing them back only to replace everyone later in SM5... it would just be like throwing away two movies (ala Schumacher) if they did that. I think 4-6 can be successful with a new cast from here on out.

Wait and see I say. We have no idea what will happen right now. I think it all starts with The Hobbit. If Raimi takes it, we are getting a new cast. If Raimi comes back, we are still not guaranteed Tobey and Kirsten. If Raimi takes the Hobbit sooner, Sony may also rush and get a new cast to get out in 09. We don't know. Anything can happen at this point.

Whatever happens, they'll still have your money when SM4 is released, haters and all.

I would be surprised if it was any sooner than this.

I can't see it being more than four years though. Unless the thing becomes a train wreck, which can even happen with succesful franchises.

i wouldn't mind Dunst staying on board, but i really don't want Toby to come back. i'm all for Gyllenhall to take on the role, i've wanted him to be spidey for a long time now, he just seems the better choice. and i hope that they get a new directori don't know who, but someone to bring some fresh air to the whole thing.

2010 is ok. BUT if SM4 would go with a different director and different cast, then I think 2011 is a good year -- it's kinda emphasizing they're going a different direction or theme... :cwink: ...which for me would be a good idea! :yay:

I second that... a three year gap will kind of emphasize more continuity from 3/4... which could be a problem if its a new crew at the helm... four years kind of distinguishes it as two separate arcs and trilogies... if SM4 is 2011 then you can do 5/6 back to back in 2014/15 ala POTC and the Matrix just to keep the cast as young as possible... you don't want the supporting actors in their 60's by the time 5/6 roles around. You could then definitely distinguish them as two separate trilogies telling one story.

That's still not too bad of a wait.
2008 is just around the corner and they'll start filming in 2009.

I'm actually surprised they're mentioning 2010 as a possible release date at this point. I don't think three years will be enough time for Raimi to step away from this franchise and do another film, then come back and begin work on a fourth installment. I also don't think the current cast would go for that, it sounds like they need a break for a while. I'm guessing 2011 at this point.

3-4 years is fine. :spidey: Gotta build the public interest back up.

2010!!!

I NEED MY SPIDEY FIX!!! ITS MY GEEK CRACK!!!

I don't want to go through withdrawl, afterall.
