Next Trailer won't be revealed until Spiderman 3

According to Comics Continuum, the next trailer won't be out until Spiderman 3 comes out....oh dear god...we have to wait until then...good god!!! I wish Galactus would just come along and eat the whole damn planet...it would be better than waiting

If true, this is indeed not good news. However it also says, outside advertising will commence Monday, so that is good news. But this is disapointing. Well guess the Surfer nut sack thread will have 20 more pages. Sheesh. I'm all for perfection, and getting it as right as possible, but gee. Throw us a bone, something.

I don't think this is such a bad move considering Spider-Man 3 is going to open big and make about a gazillions dollars. We comic book fans tend to have tunnel vision and forget about the other 95 percent of the movie going public has a short memory. If they hit hard and fast with a new trailer close to the release date, they will remember it.

I dunno Iron Maiden...the first trailer has left a great taste in the people's mouths, true. But waiting all the way till MAY? Not sure that teaser was enough to sustain interest.

All the big season finales on tv will be airing in mid-May, so they're no doubt gonna hit those hard and heavy.

As someone who'd prefer not to know everything about the film going in, I'm not too upset. (Or worried; FF2's gonna perform fine.)
Really. I feel like I've already seen Spider-man 3.

However: That better be some trailer on May 4th.

If they start hitting theaters with one-sheets and perhaps some street advertising with billboards, etc., that will help off-set the lack I think. I thought FOX did a friggin brilliant job with X3's outdoor marketing--never seen anything like it. Not sure if FF will get that level of treatment, but if they can get something similar that will do a lot to keep the anticipation up.

The other benefit to a May trailer release is that the trailer itself will contain finished, polished SFX...and that should show well with the SM3 audience. Let's hope they've worked out a deal with Sony to actually have the trailer attached to every print (not sure if that's possible) for maximum exposure.

I agree.....to me the trailer would get lost in the Spiderman 3 hype going into the movie and be lost...its guaranteed it would get lost on the SHH the weeks before the Spiderman 3 will be ALL SPIDERMAN not much else....this way.....it will be riding the wave of the Spiderman 3 hype. People will be getting to the theatre early to get seats which means they will have their butts in those seats for the trailers.....good move IMO.

Hopefully we will have more than the teaser poster out by that point as well. Something that actually shows the 4 themselves would be nice.

Honestly, I'm more pissed about the revelation about Ben, than I am about the teaser poster.....

I was already, ready, to see just the logo.....having the SS on it, just strengthens what I pretty much know already.....but the Ben thing is a slap in the face.....

And the worst thing is the report came directly from Chickie's mouth allegedly.

EDIT: However, he and Chris basically dominated the first film. If this one shows a slight shift in focus towards Reed and Susan I won't be as upset.

That would be a huge mistake.

You're forgetting the fact that FF1 was a blockbuster in 2005 and was one of the top-grossing films that year. And it sustained itself solely on the strength of the core four. The mainstream seemed to enjoy the film so they stand to gain a lot from featuring EVERYONE not just the Surfer.

Silver Surfer should be the icing on this cake--not the main ingredient.

They're already doing it, I mean everytime we see something new from FF2, it's about Silver Surfer this and SS that. I think it's damn good marketing myself. Had this been a movie without Silver Surfer, a lot less people would be interested.
