You took the next words out of my mouth. Rachel is a superb actress--and the critics love her. She was already on a winning streak in film at the time. And to be honest, she would have brought more credibilty, clout and bankability to the first film than Jessica.

So I don't understand the logic behind that. But we've got Jessica. And I like Jessica. But Jessica needs to improve.

Spoken like a true fan or a married man (count your blessings man), the logic of Alba is easy to determine, do you know a guy called JAL, there are a lot of guys out there who like how Jessica looks, lol, She is now hotter than hell to some people.

However I think Fox has been extremely shrewd with this movie. It should have tanked after the savaging by the critics but it had enough fluff and smarts to deliver to the people that counted most in regards to an origin movie, the viewing public. Fox positioned the movie well which is why it is deemed a success, while SR is deemed a dissapointment (glad Singer is getting to do a sequel though, I think Singer needed that more than us fans, really).

Alba works not just with the young guys, she is everywhere in Hollywood, on the internet, in with the MTV crowd, is multi ethnic. She does it all, she is white and yet not white, black and yet not black, hispanic and yet not hispanic, forgive me here as I view her as all these things wrapped into one , why I don't know, blame it on dark angel giving me that impression.

She works in America and She works in Latin America, heck I think she works in Europe, Africa and Asia too. Its the same reason that must have driven the selection of Graffud and his Australian heritage.

This business is a world wide business and when the suits sit down to determine the critical factors to be considered when making a tentpole movie geared to worldwide market the choice of who will play what role may not be ONLY, well she won an oscar for blah blah blah.

It worked for fox and you know what, I like Alba too, she is trying really hard to do a good job for the fans, and clearly she takes her duties as the face of the four quite seriously, she understands that she is hot and is using it to help the franchise and the studio. We benefit by that.

Yeah she is bubbly but that is how sue was in the early ff days (maybe not as much, (but I am not complaining) I like how it is right now.

I think that alba and loan were a little weak in the first film but I put that on the script more than anything. Tim if he had had more experience and time with this big budget production might have given better direction. I get the feeling that Mcmahon recognized the defficiencies in some scenes and kept asking Tim if he thought they were ok. I suspect Julian thought they were not but was deferring to Tim's direction of a script that was probably very weak.

However that was the thing prior to filming starting. Ralph Winters said they wanted to get the script right.

i think this is a credit to Tim, I think this must have been coming from him. The need for a better script if you are not going to do a lot of rewrites and reshoots like what happens on spiderman.

Remember James Franco saying he spent 6 weeks on one scene. I will bet you the Spidey film is very different from the script whereas the FF movie is very close to the script, different approaches based on what your situation is.

Now the question is why have no one leaked the script as yet.

Man Fox has been good this time around.

These results do not surprise me. Exact same way I fell. Jessica, Ioan, McManhon. Clilkis, and Evans not much. Those 2 carried the movie in my opinion. If it was not for those 2, it really would have been bad. I think those 3 will pick it up, just from the fact they will have a better script, and the expirence of the 1st movie.

Of course it doesn't shes the most hated actress to everyplay a marvel character. Yes even more so then Kirsten Dunst as MJ and Halle Berry As Storm.

But hey who knoqs things might change.

If you view the trailer, you will see that her facial expression is because of the sound she hears as the Surfer is breaking the sound barrier. If you take those frames and single them out, then indeed it looks like either someone broke wind, or Reed's part is growing.
In the second shot why isn't looking to the right like everyone else? She had just as much time as everyone else. She has the stupidest reaction in the whole shot.

You can't judge acting by a still...if you gave me the name of any actor I could find a still where they a pulling a face

Gruffudd is Welsh. McMahon is the Australian in the cast.

I hope they all can do something to up their game because I believe the Fantastic Four should be as successful as Spider-Man and X-Men. I think the FF's rogues gallery and their team values and their dynamic personality mixes make them potentially huge, but they certainly didn't become "The World's Greatest Comic Movie" with the recent film.

Anyway, Hunter Rider, I sent you a PM if you get a chance to read it, but I'm retiring for the night now.

I distinctly remember reading a couple of reports like that too, where he would ask if that is what they wanted. I have access to another MB where Ryan Murphy, the creator/writer/and executive producer of Nip/Tuck interacts with the fans. He says one thing he likes about his cast, Julian included, is that they "never go off the page" as he put it. They act to the script that is given them, in other words. Heck, I remember there were reports that the studio was having meetings about Johnny Depp during the filming of POTC because they thought he was improvsing too much and taking things a bit far. And that's an actor with a bit of clout.

Yes, the lid is clamped down tight and as Lightening and I were wondering... just who is getting the final credit?? I don't trust IMDB at this point and sometimes the assessment for the final credits goes through the screen writers guild or something like that.

I recall reading the novelization by Peter David for the first movie and thought... hmmm....I see problems here, especially "Victor von Trump." I want to see Latveria brought in more and Reed acting more like a leader.

Wow no surpise here on who just about everyone voted for.

That's because the rest of us don't choose to delude ourselves with the belief that alba can act :whatever:

Seriously man, you need to stop being so precious over her. You're never gonna meet her, if you did she'd probably be very scared. Allow people the freedom to make up their own minds.

I will admit that JAL is "way over the top", but I happen to be one of those that you speak of.....I don't mind differing opinions at all.....if you don't think she can act...thats fine....but please allow others to have a different opinion....

I think we will see a much different movie....IF.....the scriptwriter has "uped" the quality as the author of the thread has put it......along with the editing.....the actors performance (as a whole) will be uped if they have something to act from.....just my opinion.:cwink:

I like that, even the other alba fans think JAL is creepy :woot:

Creepy is not the word I would use.....needing to move on and do something with your life is more the direction I take......please do not put me into ANY category of name-calling or that type of description of people .....those are groups I do not want to be associated with.....thank you. If I find someone over the top....I simply put them on ignore, rather than call-names or consistently slam them....:yay:

I thought everyone did ok but Ioan was very uncomfortable to watch at times probably due to lousy editing in the 1st half. Still I understand Reeds character but I thought Ioan presence felt empty. There were glimmers of character which will hopefully fully come out in this film.

Ioan disapointed me most out of the whole cast.I agree with Advanced Dark that he looked uncomfortable at times.I thought his character was written okay, but it could've been done better.
Alba & Julian also disapointed me acting wise.Chiklis & Evans were good.

Of course people could just look at the top of the page...:whatever:

"please love me...I so want people to notice me for something other than being creepy..."

Shouldn't you be crying over the fact that alba's winning :o

"please love me...I so want people to notice me for something other than being creepy..."

"Please ban me....I so want the mods to ban me for being a bully with nothing better to do than bait and name-call."
