Activision and High Moon announcing Deadpool project at SDCC

Animation looks very choppy and I'm worried this game will be very short. I'll probably go bargain bin hunting for a used copy in a few months.
Animation didn't seem choppy to me
Might see some difference during gameplay

Rogue looks sexy.

Btw, the PR people surprisingly haven't sent out press copies yet. Probably a "wait until release" situation that some studios do to prevent horrid or bad reviews from going online to sway purchases. The game is highly anticipated, sort of, too.

Can't wait to play this, should be decent.

Activision hasn't sent out review code for release day in a long time. Not even CoD gets that treatment these days.

When a PR person says "Sorry, we're only getting limited review copies" it's just code for "This game sucks and we're trying to minimise the exposure."

Or in the case of COD when it means "This game will sell no matter what you write so deal with it"

Watched some of the walkthrough thats posted on Youtube. Seems ok, nothing groundbreaking but captures Deadpools humour at least if nothing else.

I can't really afford a new game right now. I'll likely pick this up in a few months when I can afford it. :( Looks good enough and the trailers are pretty good.

Yep, pretty much. It's just that, well, I haven't sent Acti review code actually turn up on time... ever.

Looks mediocre, technically passable - like the majority of superhero games.

I don't like it either...in the comics.
We've known since the first trailer that the game would have this kind of Deadpool, so there is no surprise here. I don't know why anyone would expect something different from the last trailer.

I love that about Deadpool. Makes him so much stranger than anyone else out there. Dont know too many superheros who have discussions with themselves. Glad they are focusing on that aspect of the character.

I prefer it when Deadpool actually interacts with a sane supporting cast. Him arguing with himself, is like having 3 crazy people locked in the same room.

LOL, i love that, i wouldnt want it any other way, especially when those insane characters are voiced by Nolan North. Cant wait. Hope UPS delivers my copy on time tomorrow. Hate waiting around all damn day.

Based on what I've heard so far I think I very much preferred North's portrayal of DP in Wolverine vs Hulk, a nice mix of malice and black humor. At times this veers way too close to Duke Nukem for my liking, though I suspect that is largely due to Way's writing.

Checked out the game at the Supanova convention in Sydney. Wasn't that impressed to be honest.

Based on that trailer it seems like we'll get a few team-up moments for Deadpool to play off other characters. Personally, I like a little of both when it comes to Deadpool. Being Marvel's somewhat-insane cartoon character is part of what makes him interesting to me and separates him from other anti-heroes.

However I agree that it can get a little annoying and too over the top sometimes. I never read much of Way's run on Deadpool, only a few issues here and there and found them kinda funny but mostly too silly. I think Posehn and Duggan are doing a pretty good job mixing humor and serious character development in the current series. Hopefully this game won't go too far with the jokes, that trailer makes me a little nervous. Either way I'm still excited to play this tomorrow!

Wait, what? We're back to Deadpool actually getting some character development again? Is he still talking with himself?

No, they aren't doing the multiple voice thing in the main Deadpool book anymore. Not since the relaunch. Although he recently does have the disembodied mind of a female SHIELD agent stuck in his head who he does talk to. But that's just part of the story and has an explanation. It's been pretty good and is certainly worth checking out.

Awesome! I can finally read Deadpool comics again.

Yeah, the first story arc is still a bit "wacky", but it makes for an easier transition between runs. But yes, Deadpool is readable again.

Another nitpick, not a major complaint, I have about the game is that it's too...X-Men-centric. I mean, Deadpool already has a strong supporting cast of his own and a few of his own villains (T-Ray!). I would have liked to see them and a larger Marvel Universe instead of just X-Men characters. I mean, I buy Cable, Domino, and MAYBE Wolverine. But Psylocke? Rogue? Mr. Sinister?

What's exactly the story of this game? Is Sinister the main villain? I really would have preferred it if this were more Merc centric, and his old supporting cast shows up. Are Blind Al or Weasel even in this game?

From the Wiki:

The meta-story is centered around Deadpool kidnapping the employees of High Moon Studios and forcing them to make the most awesome game ever starring himself. The story of the game is set with Deadpool accepting a mission to assassinate Chance White, a corrupt media mogul whose television channel produces such quality programming as “Jump the Shark”, in which celebrities must literally jump over a tank of water containing a ravenous great white shark. After Mister Sinister botches Deadpool's mission, costing him money, Deadpool seeks revenge on him and tracks him to the former mutant haven, Genosha, where Sinister is collecting new DNA to use in his armies.

This game is supported by Texmod, so PC modders may go crazy on this ****!

That's one statement I never got along well with, it's even weirder when they use "Bad"
It's like just because the game is based on a comic book, it's automatically bad/less than good, while actually worse games get a pass and decent-good score
