    Happy Independence Day, Guest!

Activision and High Moon announcing Deadpool project at SDCC

yeah I know, I can't show his unfortunately I'd like to but can't. People know where to head to for his .

Excitedly went out to give this a rent over the weekend. Gameplay itself isn't groundbreaking, but the game is still tons of fun. It basically plays out like Deadpool's fantasy of a successful mission. And at one point you play as Rogue, having absorbed Deadpool's healing factor and deciding to take his mask and swords to kill some baddies.

Anyone having any issues with achievements or trophies popping up? I did Landed in Jail last night without countering any attacks and never got the cheevo.

The only thing that annoyed me during that part, was that you suddenly didn't have a counter button anymore.

Huh, what? No, I meant a proper counter. Not teleporting out of danger.

Hot Pepper Game Reviews - Deadpool

Okay so I tried playing this thing yesterday and had to shut it off. The self banter is SUPER annoying and I know I would not be able to stand it for an entire game. That thing would drive me nuts and the humor felt very dry and not all that funny. Its like they tried too hard and it just doesn't seem to quite work

With that aside, the gameplay didn't feel good or fun either. I wish the gun mechanics was lock on instead of aim bc it unnecessarily slows down the action when it should be more seamless. I found it frustrating to take on multiple opponents. Granted I didn't play past the first level but the design there just seemed very basic and uninspired. I'll pass. I wasn't too interested before but my opinion hasn't changed after playing a little bit of it.

Cool story bro?

All that has been discussed for quite some time. Most reviews have said the exact same thing you just did.

Dude don't be an ass, he's just sharing his opinion.

So Im only allowed to share an opinion when a game first comes out even if I play it a month later? Thanks for letting me know that this is how this board operates now:whatever:

Apparently that's frowned upon now

I got this game for Christmas and as a Deadpool fan really enjoyed. The gameplay could have been better, but it was still enough for me to have fun.

They need to give the rights to Volition. They'd be perfect for the job. You just need to take Saints Row: The Third/IV and toss Deadpool into it.

Them or the people that did the Deathspank video games I'm sure the can make a funny script as well for Dead pool.

I had a feeling Activision was primarily responsible for this games shortcoming(after High Moons fantastic Transformers games) turns out I was right. Former High Moon dev:

Yup exactly. We had a couple of weeks where we crunched pretty aggressively on Deadpool. Having Activision cut aand cut and CUT just took its toll on so many of us. For a studio to demand that we do mandatory overtime for a project and then keep cutting so much time and money from it was ridiculous. At about halfway into development we were told that we weren't even aiming very high in terms of score.

Can you imagine working on a game where your higher ups say "yeah we're shooting for a 64 or lower" and then have them give you mandatory overtime?

Not surprising considering this is the same company that fired the creators of CoD in order to stop them from receiving their earned bonuses.

Wow... to have higher ups that actually order you to make a mediocre game.

I just wonder how much of this stuff they're doing with their other franchises? I'd have to assume it's the norm with that company. Their model seems to be to make games as cheaply and quickly as possible, not caring at all about quality, hope a few ppl buy em then rely on their annual CoD title to bolster their year end numbers.

That's kinda messed up. I was really looking forward to this game and when I actually played it I was let down. Damn Activision. :(

It's a lot messed up. They fire devs at the end of a project so they can avoid paying them bonuses. They have a history of doing this and I can't believe more people like Jason West and Vince Zampella haven't called them on their BS.

The game is gone? Good riddance as it was awful.

Well Disney is continuing to take back its IPs instead of renewing the licenses. Its good to see Activision start to lose stuff as the Marvel properties really need to be out of their hands. At least Capcom gave notice before pulling them. Activision could have at least warned people

I long for the day where Activision will pay for all of this.

You can still purchase the game physically, so no, it's not really "gone". You just lose the option to purchase it digitally.

Yea I'm just waiting for them to pull this with someone else who will see the lawsuit to the end. From what iv read the West and Zampella lawsuit could have ended up costing them billions before they realized they would never win the case and just settled. I know West and Zampella were just looking for what was owed to them, but they should of stuck with the suit and gotten not only what they were owed, but forced punitive damages on Activision as well
