Activision and High Moon announcing Deadpool project at SDCC

I don't think I'll ever understand why Deadpool has such a large fandom. His entire character is basically, "Hey kids, I'm breaking the fourth wall! Isn't that just CUH-RaaAaaAaaAaaAaaZZY?!"
His story is interesting
Like he said in the first MUA; "He acts crazy to endure the pain"

Finished the game tonight and enjoyed it from start to finish. It's exactly the game I thought I was getting. Mindless, dumb, zany, over the top and f***ing funny as hell. LOVED Nolan Norths Deadpool.

Im gonna run through it again to snag some achievements.

I just wish it was longer but yeah, I'm def gonna try and 100% the achievements in this.

Yea same. It was deff shorter than the transformers games HM did, but maybe the thinking was a little Pool goes a long way.

Haha those dudes arent hard at all. Just teleport from their ground pound and blast em with shotguns. They go down easy as hell.

The camera is garbage so I can't SEE THEIR ATTACKS WHEN MOVING and they always whack me off the map or something and it automatically kills me or something. It's a garbage game with a garbage AI

I'm currently installing the game. But only because I found the Steam Key for €17 in an Online Shop.

Just sounds like you suck. I didnt have any issues with those guys. The only time i had issues with the camera was in like a small room or something. Then yea, that sucker can get wonky as hell.

The AI also isnt that bad, they do what they're supposed to, which is run at you to be chopped up. Standard fare for a generic third person action game.

Not a bad deal, but i dont know why you wasted even that. You have clearly stated your opinions on this take on Deadpool. You arent going to like the game, at all.

Yeah, I know, I'm actually already regretting it. But I've been looking forward to a Deadpool game for so long, that I thought ah what the heck, when I saw it for that price. I paid more for worse.

I'd never spend $60 for a game like this...$30 maybe.

Yea i think id of been much less happy with my purchase had i spent the full 49.99. But considering what i did pay, im more than fine with the purchase.

Best part of the game so far "I blame you Daniel Way!"

Anyone interested in seeing some of this (that hasn't just youtubed it), Video Games awesome! is streaming a live playthrough right now. It'll be up on Youtube later, but anyone interested, it's here: http://www.twitch.tv/ffstv/

So how much does this need to sell to be a success? Do most Marvel or X Games sell alot?

Overall I really dug the game, I played on the hardest setting and actually got my ass kicked a few times. The one thing I could have really done without is the high pitched inner voice. That seemed to be the one with the most flat gags and it got annoying. That said, North does a near perfect job with DP's normal one, and the narrator inner voice doesn't bother me at all. The lunacy of the whole thing is really well done. While I def would have prefered something that introduced the workshop and DP's origin a bit more, I was entertained through the whole thing. Gotta give High Moon credit for not half assing the mature content and oddness. That's really where this game shines and stands out.

Glad the game has easter egg references to Siryn and other nods, but wish they had Weasel giving you upgrades or something like that. And Bob, AL and Outlaw should have been here as well imo.

On the subject of Daniel Way, I know alot of us on here don't like his rendition of Deadpool but since he was given the Title during the hype of DP being cast in Origins (which is when he gained his mainstream popualrity), that remains very popular with people.....along with the voices unfortunately. This game will only make that more popular, which is also kind of a bummer. ONe of these days I hope we see a more Joe Kelly version. Or something like Remenders Uncanny X-Force Deadpool. I know the movie takes more from Kelly, and while still very R rated and crude it isn't as circus clown as this game. So really hope this game helps to get that flcik moving. But complaints aside, Im just glad we got a game. Fun stuff.

they havent recently, altho we havent really been handed true quality marvel games.

As for what this game needs to do, no telling. It all depends on the budget.

Transformers didnt do crazy high numbers and they green lit a sequel, so who knows with this title.

Didn't Marvel release some sort of statement a year or so back about not putting out any more crappy video games? It might have been in regards to their Sega movie tie-ins but I feel like they made some sort of pledge to put out better games all around.

Finished it. Well... this felt like a waste of time. They could have at least tried to come up with a proper story. Instead all we got is some revenge plot, because Sinister messed up one of our hits, which is nothing more than an excuse to do dumb ****. And it's basically an X-Men game for 80% of it, with most of our time spent on Genosha. The game just feels really small. Lack of locations, lack of guest characters outside of X-Men related ones.

Deadpool surprisingly didn't annoy me as much as I thought, though still disappointed that they didn't do more with Pool outside of slapstick. But that's Way's schtick. Do dumb ****, don't bother with actual character development.

Gameplay, so the opposite of smooth. It got better when you unlocked more combos and the gameplay actually got pretty decent once you were allowed to perform Gun Katas and upgraded the fire rate of guns all to the max. I'd say it's a good foundation, just improve the **** out of it in a sequel.

Ultimately, I'd probably give it a 6.8/10

you must be talking about this

Marvel Games' TQ Jefferson Tonight 6:30/5:30c on X-Play X-Play

Tonight, Wednesday 7/25 at 6:30/5:30c we talk history of comic-book games with VP of Games Production at Marvel, TQ Jefferson. Comic-book games

don't worry the shows dead. But I remember something on marvel speaking about what SpideyForPrez mentioned.

Any way this man is the second in charge. I want to know who is above him in that department? i did say I wanted the art director and main artist from Darksiders " Joe Madureira" to be in charge of the video game department of marvel since he went back to work there to do work on the comic's. he's be the Jim lee of marvel in a sense. He would know the video game industry works best since he left to work in it.

Yea that was in response to Segas horrid showing of movie based tie ins. I believe Marvel was going to hand out licenses on franchise by franchise basis outside of the Xmen and Spider-Man.

yeah they said it on Video
and it wasn't just on the movie stuff ether

Marvel VP of Games Production TQ Jefferson

X-Play

Blair Herter welcomes Marvel VP of Games Production TQ Jefferson to the X-Play stage to talk over the explosion of quality comic-book video games, the relationship between game developer and book..

I still think Joe Mad should be put in charge of their video game department

finished it last night, i really enjoyed it, it was exactly what i was hoping for
i would've liked more locations and a few more deadpool specific characters but for what it is i loved it, def has replay value for me :)

You know what I actually really liked? When you were shooting dudes with Cable. The game should have had more sections with Deadpool teaming up with various characters. It was such a wasted opportunity not to be able to fight alongside Wolverine.

For Pools first solo outing, I think we had plenty of cameos. I wouldn't of wanted this to become Deadpool And Insert Characters Name Here. Although with that said, I LOVE seeing Deadpool interact with the more "sane" heros.

For those that thought the game was as funny as I did, any lines stand out for ya? There's too many to count IMO but one of the scenes I loved was at the beginning when he was singing Crazy in the elevator and the squeaky voice said "see, he's like an angel" S**t tripped me out.

Probably was more vomit then lines, but the Vertigo scene had me cracking up haha.
