I guess I can give Brad Pitt some credit at least he's done action films but I want to see him in a Speed/Die Hard/Terminator type of mindless action.
That would really be a step in the wrong direction.I guess I can give Brad Pitt some credit at least he's done action films but I want to see him in a Speed/Die Hard/Terminator type of mindless action.
It's annoying how Sam Worthington is slated as PERFECT for every new role coming up. This was done even before avatar, with just terminator as his known role.Yeah, I know what you mean. I really hate when that happens, even when its with an actor that I like. Christian Bale and Angelina Jolie got rumored for so many parts a few years back it got annoying and I think they are both great actors.
It's even more puzzling when it happens with a guy like Worthington, who hasn't even been in very much. And even if people were blown away by his performances in Terminator and Avatar, I still don't think that's enough to give you this grand insight into how "perfect" he'd before such and such character.
The only newcomer that blew me away in a film this year was Sharlto Copley in District 9, but I'm not going to name him as the "perfect" choice for a bunch of similar characters because, as of yet, I've only seen him in one movie and only have that as a reference as to how good of an actor he is.
That would really be a step in the wrong direction.
I heard somewhere that cameron was the one who suggested sam for terminator. I thought he was good in terminator but blah in avatar. So i don't get it either.People like Sharlto Copley and Kristoph Waltz deserve all the praise. They created buzz through their performances. That's the way it should be. Let the audience decide if you're worthy of the hype. Someone like Sam Worthington is puzzling. It's like his agents and pr people are forcing him down our throats. No one likes being told to like an actor. That should be earned. So far, I havent seen anything from Worthington that justifies the hype and I've seen several of his Australian movies. I just don't get it. He was pretty blah in Avatar too. I don't know what the heck Cameron was talking about when he said Worthington would blow everyone away.
Even Cameron had referred Sam to McG for Terminator Salvation because he was the next hot thing. It's annoying how Sam Worthington is slated as PERFECT for every new role coming up. This was done even before avatar, with just terminator as his known role.
I remember it all began with his shirtless scene in Thelma & Louise, one didn't need to see the movie since practically every entertainment program was focused on Brad's washboard abs.I like Brad Pitt. I think he's a good actor. So I'm not hating on him. But I don't get how he became this mega star A-lister. Plus, in most of his movies it seems like he's a supporting character.
Christian Bale and Russell Crowe. I can't fathom how people who have been such *******s to other people can have fans.
You can't separate a person from their work, even if that work is playing pretend. It boils down to this, if you're an *******, you don't deserve respect, no matter how much "talent" you may or may not have.
Dude, did you see The Departed? That was probably the ultimate "guy" movie... not a movie made for chicks, that's for damn sure. Not too artsy either. He was also really badass in Blood Diamond.
He's also got Shutter Island and Nolan's Inception coming out next year, which are two of the most highly anticipated movies by people who frequent this board, and in case you haven't noticed, there aren't a lot of females here.
I agree with your statement about Tatum, however.
Maybe YOU can't, but I certainly can. There are many artists out there whose personal life is suspect, but I still enjoy their work.
An artist's work is an extension of himself, and if the core is rotten, the rest of the apple is gonna taste like crap.
