Gotta admit, if she's really interested in playing MJ, that could be a clever way of getting the studio's attention. I wonder if she's aware that she's been such a fan favorite.

I don't think that they auditioned a bunch of actors for MJ like they did for Harry Osborn (and Gwen and Peter in TASM1). The studio probably had a list of potential candidates to choose from, but as far as I know, Woodley was the first and only name attached to the role.

No prob. Yeah, it does seem a bit odd. It could just be that they liked her, but held off because of the Emma Stone similarities. I think they should give her a shot at it. If she's great, I'm willing to overlook it. I love it when actors get really passionate about the characters they play. You can tell that they really love what they're doing, and if given the opportunity, I think that Jane could be that way with MJ and the Spider-Man franchise.

I'd be thrilled with Margot, but I'd be pretty darn pleased if they nabbed Jane too.

My Thoughts on Poll Choices

Ashley Benson - She's a pretty face and she seems to be charming enough. I've always seen her morseo as Supergirl though.
Emma Watson - Wouldn't like it. Mostly because I associate her with the role of Hermione and I just don't think MJ would be a good fit for her.
Lily Collins - The chick in The Mortal Instruments? Eh, I'll pass.
Jane Levy - My personal pick. I've checked out Suburgatory and she's certainly got the spunk to pull off the character. She was also great in the Evil Dead. I definitely think she has the chops to bring Mary Jane to life and show us how different she is from Gwen Stacy.
Ashley Roberts - Who is this? Why is she on the list? The Pussycats Girl? Eh no.
Kaya Scodelario - Not familiar with her. Appearance-wise she doesn't strike me as Mary Jane-ish, the supermodel version or the Ultimate punk version either.
Karen Gillan - Karen Gillan wouldn't be bad. She'd certainly appeal to nerds everywhere due to her experience in Doctor Who and she seems likeable and charming enough to make a decent Mary Jane. It would also be interesting to see a Mary Jane who is taller then Peter.
Deborah Ann Woll - Hotness wise, yes please. Acting ability, eh? I have to see her in more. In True Blood it seems if everyone is deliberately overacting so it's hard to judge.
Ariana Grande - NO. If we want to make Mary Jane hispanic and use a pop singer, I'd rather have Naya Riviera who has actual acting ability.
Margot Robbie - Need to see the Wolf of Wall Street. Will edit when i have seen it.
AnnaSophia Robb - Her butt is amazing but besides that, nah. She doesn't strike me as Mary Jane.
Alison Brie - I'm a huge fan of Alison Brie. I like Annie. I just don't see her as Mary Jane at all though.
Kristen Stewart - NO.
Lyndsy Fonesca - Who? *googles* Oh awesome Ted's daughter is all grown up!
Evan Rachel Wood - ??? (I'm aware of who she is, but strangely, I've never seen a film she was in)
Alexandra Tittario - She has the looks down but acting wise I have yet to see anything that suggests Ms. Daddario can actually act. She normally plays super-hot young chicks who tempt old dudes like Woody Harrelson. Seriously, she's played the role like five different times. Impossible to judge until she branches out.
Hayden Paniterrie - I could dig it. Would be kind of strange seeing her with red hair, but Hayden has a strange charismatic aura about her. All of her characters are likeable and she manages to give even the worst characters some life.
Amber Heard- Ridiculously hot. She'd make a good Mary Jane I think.
Ashley Greene - Twilight? Eh no thank you.
Other Suggestions:
Molly Quinn from Castle

She's a bit of a wild card. As far as I know she's never been in anything big but she's pretty good on Castle. I can definitely see her pulling off the best friend type Ultimate verse (which seems to be what they're going for) Mary Jane pretty well.

Though I can still hear the complaints from the camp insisting on glamorous supermodel/supersexy MJ.

On that topic is till think that she could pull it of even if they decided to go with a more glamorous MJ. Although i would have no problem with someone like Margot getting the part i still believe that Jane would fit better chemistry wise.

Exactly,even if this has nothing to do with TASM3 a believable performance as MJ even in a comedy sketch can draw more attention from the producers.

I don't want an Ultimates-style Mary Jane. We still haven't even seen a proper 616 super hot Mary Jane yet. Kirsten Dunst was still veering more towards a best friend type, and not someone out of Peter's league. I think Jane Levy also still falls into that type too much.

I still think she looks a lot like Emma Stone lol! But I can't say I mind having her as MJ, in fact, give me someone less annoying than Dunst, who doesn't complain all the time and who looks better and I'll be happy. Whoever it may be.

I don't know about that. Chemistry is one of those unpredictable forces of nature that can't really be judged until you have both actors perform together in some capacity.That is where the audition process comes in. Sure it's easy to guess that Levy might have good chemistry with Garfield because of the similarities to Emma Stone and the fact that appearance wise she looks more like she's in his league, but you can't know until you see them in their respective roles. Margot and Andrew could have boat loads of chemistry as Peter and MJ.

I like Levy for her level of spunk, charisma, background in comedy, and the fact that she's interested in portraying the character. Imo, she probably isn't a perfect fit for the version of the character that I was hoping to see, but I'd be willing to forgive if she delivers a solid performance as MJ and I do think that she is capable of doing so.

However, I doubt they'll pull from Ultimate MJ for their version of MJ. They've already given Emma Stone's Gwen Stacy several characteristics of ultimate MJ. I've said it several times before and I'll say it again. If they are influenced by any ultimate character for MJ, it'll most likely be ultimate Gwen Stacy not ultimate MJ.
