Ad Astra

So what does this tells us about it's oscar chances?
September feels a bit like a grey area.

This release date for Ad Astra practically confirms that Ford v Ferrari is Disney's #1 bet for Academy Awards.

September is where Oscar buzz movies go to die

Looks very meh

My most anticipated film this year for a reason

The reviews have certainly piqued my interest.

Still early days but that AR is impressive.

I feel like this is gonna be one of those flicks that gets labeled "boring" but will garner a lot of awards.

Top Critics are saying Pitt has delivered Oscar worthy performance.

Really liked the IMAX trailer. I think it's my favorite. Glad to see the good reviews too!

The movie looks interesting, no doubt, but the physics of rover pod-race looked wonky.

Aand this was slightly disappointing.

Jones and Pitt killed it, but the rest of the movie had its weak parts.

My biggest criticism - the jumping between planets and locations was way too fast. You don't get that sense of the long time scale of travelling from point A to point B.

Heck even in the end when the shuttle AI tells Pitt he has 2.7 billion miles to Earth, they take around 5 mins of screentime and then show him landing on Earth..

Interstellar, on the other hand, was masterful in that aspect.

Also ,what was Liv Tyler doing here? She literally had 1 min of screentime :funny:

Maybe that was to showcase time passing faster out there.
