The three red rings means that you've had a hardware failure. Just call XBOX at 1-800-MYXBOX and tell them what's going on. They'll fix it.

lol it was a joke, but seriously you guys shouldve just messaged each other or something. buttttttttttttttttttttttttt whatever.

Yeah, I know. We really should have. I don't have a clue why we didn't. Perhaps we just wanted to let our love be known to the Hype! :D

My 360 red ringed on me last week! My friend is now on his 3rd console, and he's already arranging a funeral for mine.

He's advised me to report it....what actually happens from here on though?

You would think he would get the message and by a Wii or PS3.But he shall continue to suffer and waste money.

Maybe. The console is still in warranty, ring customer support STAT!

had mine for 2 months. three red lights of doom showed up today.

Man I hope I don't have trouble with my 360. By the sounds of it, if I do, there won't be any help. :(

I've never had a problem. I purchased a 2 year warrenty from MS just in case though. I've never had a problem with any MS product. Don't get too worried. I was so worried before I bought mine too. But I realized that the people who all have a working 360 (like, everyone now) are to busy having fun playing it to get on the internet and tell you there's work fine. Don't worry.

Here is some help for ANYONE who is worried. I've been through it twice and am glad to help anyone who needs it.

Go to the official XBox website.
Select your region (eg Australia)
Click on/roll over the "Support" tab at the top of the page.
Click "Contact Support".
The page will have information for you to ring, email, or send snail-mail.

Hope this helped.

You know the PS3s aren't all that fault-proof either, right?

Plus, a PS3 is a waste of money anyways, seeing as it costs $200 more than the 360 as is, and a 360 on warranty isn't going to cost you much, if any, money to repair. :o

Arghh! I've had Nintendo, SNES, N64, GameCube, PS1, PS2, Genesis, Sega CD, Dreamcast and Game Boy, all worked fine (well except the original Nintendo) without any problems, but tonight I joined the red lights of death club. The infamous box is on it's way now, sucks 'cause I just bought a new game last night!

american prodcuts are bad.

Haha sucks to be you guys, I've had my 360 for a year and no problems what so ever!

Be careful Smash 'n Bash, my 360 was going to be one year old sometime this week. Your avvy makes me even angrier though because my sister bought me Sneak King and I'm finally gonna get it this coming weekend, dammit!

MS told me to lay it down.

Yeah the manager at Game Crazy said to lay it down as well, never play it up as the machine tends to do it's damage in that position. Seems odd to me as you would think MS would have ran multiple tests to make sure it could run in the upright position without messing up your games or throwing the laser out of alignment. I am wagering that most of the returns he had gotten from people who said they had it upright must have done something stupid while the unit was running. Hell I started putting my launch unit PS2 in that position during the summer but my nephew kept knocking it off the shelf, 3 times during the 2 weeks he stayed with me. I never stood it up after that. Did not want to risk screwing something up in it.
i spoke with an MS guy 2 days ago and he said i could lay it up...

wtf....

so lay it down?
