Transformers After re-watching "Transformers the Movie" Last Night

I always thought that the stuff i described above was on the U.K or international versions because people like Judd Nelson and Eric Idle weren'n very known the people overseas so there was no point in putting their names in the opening credits....

Well that's just silly as Eric Idle is British, so of course they know who he is there.

Anyway I quite like the 1986 Transformers movie but it is far from a masterpiece of a film. It was set 20 years after the cartoon series so not surprising they've killed a lot of the original cast off. It's just a kid's movie, though - it's not aimed at adults so if you're not under 10 and can't understand what's to like about it then that's why.

Well this movie IS geered toward kids like you said, i sure as hell didn't know or cared who Eric Idle was when the movie was out...still don't.:o

Eric Idle was a member of Monty Python!! How could anyone here not know or care who he is. I figured a love for Monty Python would be something everyone here would share. As for Judd Nelson, I don't think anyone knows who is even now.

"Don't you... forget about me..."

Aaaaaaaaaaaahhhhh.......Judd Nelson in the Breakfast Club......I wonder if asked would he ever do the voice of Hot Rod again?

He doesn't do much now I think but I have seen a recent pic of him with short hair.

Well, the question would be whether or not Hasbro would allow an animation company to pick up where the G1 series left off, which I admit isn't very likely.

^
This has been confirmed, not sure if it will be any good though.

So a G1 cartoon is in the works? Got a link?

There is no official website so just google Transformers Hero's

Reading this thread put that "other" transformer song in my head...

You've got the touch...
You've gotthePOWER!!!!YEAH!!!!

Did anyone notice it that MArky Mark was singing it in Boogie Nights?

Yeah I laugh when I saw it or the first time.

You know on the Collections edition dvd, Vince Dicola (the guy that did the score for Transformers) said he called Stan Bush (the guy who wrote and sang 'The Touch), and told him him that he heard his song in Boogie Nights. Stan told Vince he never got compensated or credited for the song..

...Vince Dicola is also confused why the score itself was never released, as fans keep asking him for it.

Well, what I read is pretty ambiguous. It doesn't say one way or another the series is a direct sequel of the G1 cartoon at all. If you're referring to the DVD release of the American Headmasters series which bears that name, I don't think that is what Transformers: Heroes will be based upon.

From that short vague plot line we have for heros im pretty sure it has nothing to do with G1. And will never get past one season.:(

Well, the mere fact they've only asked for 26 episodes is pretty discouraging.

I watched The Holy Grail again the other day for the first time in ages, god I love that movie.

That is the typical Cartoon Network order...they go about half what the "networks" do for a first season...they get burned a lot.

As opposed to the usual 56 episode runs the other series' were granted?

I said most networks order twice that amount normally...Cartoon Network operates differently. They are notorious for ordering small first runs.

I have it.

I think Vince was referring to the score from the ENTIRE movie, minus the songs. There's a few songs from the score on the album but not the whole thing.

Well, they're the good ones, and they're used more than once in the film. Definitely worth the purchase.
