I thought Singleton was working on Luke Cage. That kind of ties him up doesn't it?

It is interesting however, since I mention the Harry Potter movies, that they seem to have a different director every movie yet there seems to be some over all plan, some general consensus in mind and over all direction that some person or persons have guided very well. In other words there is a high quality to all these movies.

There is a great quality to those movies because Rowling, the creator of Potter, oversees the movies very closely to make sure they are done right. If Stan Lee could only be there on every set making sure his creations are done right. I mean sure there has to be deviations here and there to bring them to the 21st century as well as fit the overall story line, but some things are crazy to change.

After seeing the movie...maybe, just maybe, he can do a sequel. But there are still major issues this project is burdened with that something down the road (such as the dreaded word "restart") can solve.

Okay,

Let's not put any of it on Stan. I'll go even further than that. Aren't there a million and one people in the business these days who love and know the material and could put their two cents in when things get off track. Those same people could exert some influence when the suits start making bad decisions on behalf of all of us.

It's like George Lucas overseeing his CGI babies, it's like Rowling making sure Potter is correct, oh I just wish oh I wish Stan the Man Lee could be with the director and give him insight on what works and what doesn't. He doesn't own them anymore:csad: There are a lot of people that know the source material just as well as the creator, but the people at the top...ARAD...think they know and push things too hard. Plus to add to all of that...Fox isn't too good to their movie franchises...especially big box office superheroes:csad:

I would add Frank Miller to that list as well.....thing is......it takes the studios respect of the creators to allow that.......

Yes Frank:woot: That is why at the end I said Fox pushes things aside so that they can see the big pile of cash behind the quality. Rowling put in the movie contract that she will be a major decider on things or no deal. George Lucas just patented everything with the word Star Wars in it and therefore own all the creative rights. Sad that studios won't let the people who created the character have any say in how the movie is made. I am shocked Fox signed on to Halo knowing Bungie will have a direct say in every single thing of the movie making process...that is a good thing though.

Well I give Stan all the credit in the world. I've never been on the bash Stan wagon as was the trend a few years ago, but if you look at things he was involved in they don't exactly have the greatest place in entertainment history. The Marvel cartoons of the '60s? While I loved them all they weren't that well done. Maybe Stan as an advisor but there needs to be someone with the muscle and energy to push it through. Who is that person these days?

I wasn't bashing Stan:huh: I have the upmost respect for that man:woot: All I said was that I wish he was able to oversee his creations so that they are done right. I really liked the old Marvel cartoons. Big studios are just money ****es and I hate it:cmad:

NOOOOOOOOOO! Fox has Halo!??! AAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!

Paul Greengrass i think that is the name of the guy who directed The Bourne Supremacy. he could probally make a good F4 movie.

No, Paul Greengrass needs to make a few more serious movies. What about Chris Robinson? I mean, he's technically a music video director but ATL had dynamic...

what other films has Paul Greengrass directed?

hmm i haven't seen United 93 but i heard it was good

I really enjoyed it.. I was much better than the first one. FF3 should not have doom in it. He always seems to come back.

Doom = Magneto in that sense. He has to be in pretty much everyone. Or at least for part three, give him an army in Latveria to command.

I think Doom is already lost, or the character we want is, so I say go on to some new villain. Let's march out the Skrulls.

Bumping due to the talking on the subject in the BO thread.

My view is we need a name director for FF3. Not Story or an up and comer.

Well since it isn't doing to great at the BO, me thinks Fox will get a new director and all the talk about the cast wanting to go in a new direction might cause some staff changes.

Perhaps give Zack Snyder a shot if there is another FF movie as he did a great job on 300. Lots of effects, but still managed to get great performances from his actors.

Reed: "Doom, you have to stop, this is madness!"

Dr. Doom: "Madness? Richards, THIS IS LATVERIA!!!"

I couldn't resist :woot:

After seeing the film,im going to say no.There needs to be seriousness here, the films still do not have that.

Problem is, the very nature of the FF and their villains demand a huge onscreen treatment (puppet master being perhaps the only exception). The Skrulls = space adventure = expensive sfx = kryptonite to FOX. Even if they go with a (gasp) alien invasion type of approach, they'd have to spend big money. Eveen Moleman would require a huge sense of scale to depict his underworld.
