Reboot X-Men

As for the rest like Deadpool, New Mutants, Gambit, X-Force and Multiple Man. I can see them all being made ambiguous from the main X-Men films that way they can integrate them into the Marvel world. Depending on how well they do obviously. Deadpool obviously will stay as is.

Wow.....this is a close one. Isn't there SOMEONE out there who wants to be different? Maybe we can find the person who thought The Godfather sucked?

Keep Ryan and have him join The Avengers. What could possibly go wrong?

Exactly. Do people ask questions about Stan Lee showing up in every film? Deadpool is basically the same thing.

Do all of those zeros after a number tend to color the opinions of the decision makers at Disney???.....nah.....they'll dump DP :o

I really doubt Feige wants New Mutants separated from the X-Men. And Gambit and Multiple Man are no Wolverine and Deadpool to be headlining films, that MCU would adopt their solo film/s like as if they are going to happen.

"We're also looking forward to expanding the Marvel Cinematic Universe to include X-Men, Fantastic Four and Deadpool," Iger confirmed

Does this finally answer the question of whether Deadpool will be in the MCU
Oh, I have no doubt that they're planning to (eventually) add Deadpool to the MCU... my question is, was Iger talking about Reynolds' version of Deadpool? Who knows.

I would put money on a strong reboot, everything must go.

It's a shame but it was probably time for a freshen up anyway and it's easier to work it into the MCU rather than retrofitting it

I think in general Iger was talking about the characters themselves (as brand names) coming into the MCU. I don't think he's going to involve himself in the casting one way or another.

But I think its clear that Disney expects all the Marvel properties acquired in the purchase of FOX to be part of the MCU. They aren't likely going to keep them as separate entities once everything finalizes.

Rebooting is the right decision. No baggage from the previous films. Clean slate protocol.

Give them a proper intro and cast your own people. If Spiderman is any indication then we know how Fiege will approach it.

Anything is possible, but if I were you I wouldn't be so quick to take for granted that Feige and Reynolds will get along just fine. Time will tell.

It's always possible, but if anything there's more evidence to suggest they'd get along. Reynolds seems excited and Feige praised the film big time when I came out:

The thing that Deadpool shows is, when you present something unique to an audience, they will respond to it. When you present something as popular as a superhero character, in a different and unique and crazy way as they did in Deadpool, it demands attention and audiences went to it. They pulled it off. Tim Miller did a tremendous job. The other secret, and why it’s still a secret, I don’t know, but they just took what Deadpool is in the comics. He breaks the fourth wall. He talks into the camera. He doesn’t give a s**t about any of the other heroes. He doesn’t take anything seriously.

All of that is what made Deadpool so popular in the comics. Tim and his writers and Ryan Reynolds were able to get that and even magnify that up on the big screen. We’ve always said if there’s any ‘secret’ it’s respect the source material, understand the source material and then, any adaptation you make from the source material should be done only to enhance whatever the original pure spirit of the source material was. Deadpool hit on all cylinders with that.

Deadpool is the only one I can see making the leap. He's crazy enough to mention bouncing between different universes and for people to just believe him.

Plus I would love to see him join x-force

maybe Disney will just do away with Deadpool after Deadpool 2

That's not happening either. Deadpool is too much of a money making cow.

If you're a mega-corporation like Disney, why put a cap on your profit?

Yeah, that's how I interpreted his statement as well.

Dasher.....why did you hate The Godfather?

Everything goes but DP.

Feige already had a plan for X-Men which Fox decided not to use for their own universe. There's no way he will just inherit all that mess when Disney handed him all the movie rights to do as he pleases. I believe Feige, even after all he has accomplished, has secretly wanted to get the X-Men rights from the very beginning because that's where he got his start as a producer. And he will not only get their IP but will be the architect of their entry in the MCU.

The X-Men can be so awesome, I'm stoked at the thought of just having someone kill an X-Men movie (series). It could be YUGE!!!!

I think they will finish the FoX Men story and then slowly bring X Men into the MCU (reboot) post 2021 or so. Deadpool can do as he pleases, no one needs to really explain him showing up in the MCU or whatever. He can even be in his own Deadpool-verse where everyone and everything is canon and not-canon at the same time. I would definitely not rule out cameos by both Professor Xs, Wolverrine, Cap etc. in the same movie. You can get away with anything in a Deadpool movie as long as its funny. :)

I'm thinking reboot but they're going to have a couple issues because there were a few casting points Fox really got right. Those are Xavier, Magneto, Wolverine, Cyclops, Deadpool.

Deadpool is the easiest to tie in so they could probably keep this one. Issue is they need to establish the X-Men. If they're around now it becomes a question of where have they been? Could be they were more quiet & politically focused until AoU. At which point, the Sokovia accords drew attention to them and the X School. Now everyone wants to be the next Hulk or Thor or whatever and they're coming out of the shadows.

Now "enhanced" which are now being called mutants are being found more often in general society and people are scared. Governments are finding there are way more out there than those small amounts they had been able to control. As they grapple with this Sentinel programs are created. The Avengers are prevented from interfering by UN Control and focus on other global (interstellar) issues rather than Mutant Rights.

Deadpool has no fourth wall anyways. There is no reason to reboot him. Ryan Reynolds could show up in an MCU film with no explanation and that would be perfectly normal with regards to that character. He could just make a snarky comment and that is all the explanation we need.
Better bring him into the Netflix fold of things.

I see in no universe where they don't reboot. Only Deadpool will make the leap, and that is fine. He can just make a joke about how everything looks different, or even if he sees like Thanos says something like "You look familiar" etc.
