Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. - 4x08 - "The Laws of Inferno Dynamics" - Discussion Thread

I'll add that it is STUPID that Aida didn't kill her. May's death would mean nothing to her, but keeping May alive is a threat to her plans.
Not if Part of her plan was to use May as a patsy after the LMD has completed her mission, whatever that may be.

How do you know what her plans are? Can you read the minds of fictional androids through a screen? Now that's a good superpower.

They should have saved the DarkHold for Netflix and Phase 4, and used the Serpent's Crown for AoS as it fits the more science leaning of the show.

Uh, so far, the Netflix side is way more science-leaning than Agents of SHIELD.

The end of the Ghost Rider storyline, it seems? Which would be kinda lame to have them just vanish... and suddenly, everyone is like "nah, we don't need to save Robbie another time".

Apart from that, a solid episode. And how long can they not address what Mace is? :'D

The ending for Robbie and Eli was beyond anticlimactic. ~~Poof~~, the end? I mean, was the Darkhold's endgame to gain control of Aida and that's it? Just a bit on the lame side. I think Aida is keeping May alive because she doesn't know everything she needs to know in order to fool everyone into thinking the LMD is May.

Don't get me wrong, I am glad we are finally getting LMDs and hope that they don't wait until April to reveal that Mace is the original LMD but who knows.

Well, Coulson said the other Ghost Rider managed to get out of that. Which is probably why he's not very worried. I'm thinking they're not trying to save him themselves for fear Eli might come back as well.

Mace telling Daisy to "just roll with it" at the end, even though what he made the press believe was false, made me think he's "just rolled with it" himself in the past when the media incorrectly believed something positive about him.

Actually, Aida's mission is to keep S.H.I.E.L.D. agents safe. Looks to me like she's trying to keep them safe by putting them all in the fridge and replacing them with the LMDs. Without their permission, of course.

Also, why didn't Aida just use the DarkHold directly to open a portal instead of making a machine?

Maybe because the Darkhold is, basically, just an instruction manual? You need a machine to open the portal.

Probably when he became "the hero" during Helmut Zemo's bombing of the Vienna International Centre. I think he took credit for someone else's heroic act.

You are assuming the Darkhold is some kind of a self-aware evil being. As far as we know, it isn't.

Okay, I cringed when Coulson suggested Daisy be the face of SHIELD and when the Director was in his outfit.

I liked the rest of it though, AIDA being a murderbot is interesting. But I didn't like how Ghost Rider just disappeared and they appeared to not do anything about looking for him. I assume he'll pop back up this season.

So wait, what happened to May to have Aida keep her alive?

yeah don't confuse Darkhold with the Necronomicon from Evil Dead lol

I thought he was talking about Robbie who came back before by himself.

Daisy: You think Robbie will make it back?

Coulson: The last Ghost Rider did.

Daisy: Wait a minute. Wait. What?

Coulson: Long story.

Still offended at the idea of Daisy being the face of SHIELD. :funny:

Maybe the comic book version.

:o

Aida killed an agent on screen...and in the preview is attacking agents. The idea that she knocked May out to keep her safe and locked in a closet and replaced her with an android is just...out there.

Yes, I'm sure that the show will give some flimsy excuse for why she killed one agent, but kept one of our main stars alive...but the real reason is because the show just doesn't want to kill May. I mean...Ghost Rider...Mockingbird...Deathlok...those people can go away for years on end...but May? No, we need her around.

No way they'd kill May, and if they did, I'd be severely disappointed THAT is the long time member they decided to kill.

When character deaths happen, it's SUPPOSED to be impactful.

But this show is really just limping along to get into syndication. Johnny Blaze Ghost Rider could be used in the next movie without even mentioning the storyline they just showed us...and since the Agents of SHIELD dont seem to care one bit about trying to save Ghost Rider from Hell, that he went to while saving the city, then it's hard for me to think that he matters.

It has absolutely not been limping along, in my opinion it has been the best season and not just because of GR, the writing has been much better the effects have been great and the pacing also has improved. I am a marvel fanboy but i appreciate good television and this is one of the best shows on t.v. right now.

If I recall that guy was the publicity guy and Aida may be focused on protecting field agents. So that allows her to kill anyone who doesn't fit that build.

Wow just WOW what a great Ending!!!

I guess the brain that Aida made in the previous episode was meant for May's LMD. I wonder if the May LMD is programmed to believe itself to be the true May.
