aren't you the one who said it wasn't necessary to create the next episode thread this far in advance when someone else tried to do so? :P

I said it wasn't necessary to make the thread before the episode aired. :oldrazz:

ah, that's what it was.
:woot:

Curious about Skye. At first, we question her, then are cool with her being legit. Then, we questioned her again in episode 3, only to be confirmed essentially as a "good guy" at the end. Same with episode 4, now, **** goes down with her possibly betraying in episode 5?

I hope this back and forth thing doesn't last all season

I think it will last until at least the half way point. I don't think we'll find out about HYDRA or whoever being behind everything until April when Cap 2 comes out.

Yeah, more than likely. Who knows, but I personally am starting to get a WEEEE bit tired of the back and forth thing with skye.

Preview looks sweet, missed it at the end of tonight's episode. More extremis? Maybe a more controlled case this time?

Don't really mind the whole Skye flip flopping yet. Don't really have much to complain about yet. Really enjoying it a lot, great to hold me over until Thor :)

Oh and since this seems to be in real time aka post iron man 3ish or at least right before/during im3. Maybe we'll get some cool stuff when Thor comes out about it happeneing in real time

Skye has not yet officially left Rising Tide. They still consider her a member and she remains in contact with them. SHIELD doesn't know this, but it looks like they are about to find out.

HMMM Extremis....... wonder if that's a way AROUND actually using Jim Hammond as the original Human Torch?

Ya this looks like it's going to be a heck of an episode. Just keeps getting better and better in my book. Glad they got picked up for the full 22. Hope the ratings continue to be strong, looks like they are really finding who they are and what the show is about

I actually like how they aren't making every episode involve an actual Marvel character. Through 4 episodes the only one is Gravitron (sp?) I'm glad they're not rushing into connecting everything in every episode to the books. Maybe give us a new comic inspired person, powered or non powered, like every 5 episodes or so.U

I see no reason to NOT have comic characters more often in the series. For tv viewers, it's just a character, for the comic fans, it's a bonus.

Unfortunately, I would be willing to bet that Skye's status as a double agent/traitor is cleared up in about five minutes. I had thought that subplot would take most of the season to resolve.

The return of extremis is far more interesting to me. That guy's arms looked just like Killian's did when he used his powers, sort of like his skin had turned to lava. This is exactly what real criminals would do is they could get access to a drug like that: Juice up every thug they could and go on crime sprees. SHIELD should be putting out those fires, literally and figuratively, for years.

so Extremis is the source of the pyrokinesis?

Presumably; not officially. But the vfx and the laboratory have all the hallmarks of AIM and Extremis that we saw in the first episode, and in IM3.

Alright, a fire power! That should look interesting visually, right?

Okay, I don't really care about CGI visuals that much, I just have a *thing* for fire powers.

So, how sure are we that it's Extremis? Seems like a strange match to me; it's very much so a power shift.

Theres a good chance the character is Zaoxing (or Dragonfire)

Extremis gives thermal powers to its recipients/victims. That was true both in the comic book version and in Iron Man 3. All of the Extremis test subjects gave off heat, some to the point of explosion, and Killian breathed fire. From the preview the CGI effects on the man's arms when he was kneeling looked a lot like Killian and Pepper did at the end of IM3. Mike Peterson in the pilot also displayed an orange glow in the scenes in the train station and he had been dosed with Extremis. The man in the next episode is also given some sort of drug in a lab, but of course we don't know if it is Extremis yet.

Why have I never heard of this character? *looks him up* Oh, he's only appeared in 3 or 4 issues, starting in 2012.

IMO, this would be the perfect type of character to use for this. He's from the comics, but nobody will care at all if they change something about his backstory or whatever because he is such a minor character. And it might get people interested in digging up those few appearances he has had. It would almost be a shame NOT to call this guy Dragonfire/Zaoxing.

He's already listed as Renshu Tseng.
Another made-for-TV superhero....sorry, no comic book connection here.

Although there *is* a guy named Po in this episode.
It's *possibly* a reference to Master Po, who was one of Wolverine's senseis in the comics. Or he could be a talking panda. Who knows.

My predictions:
1. Extremis
2. Someone with Human Torch's Powers
3. Hired by Oscorp, since he has fire-balls, and The Ultimate Green Goblin, from the comic book, threw fire-balls at Spider-Man.

I don't mind if they keep making up new characters for the show. New characters get introduced in comics all the time. So it shouldn't be an issue if they do the same for the TV show.
