Many workplaces don't have non-fraternization rules, so co-workers dating is perfectly ethical. Some here act like this is an earlier era when such relationships were strictly prohibited but that isn't the case. As long as there is no abuse of power, perks aren't traded for sex and there's no sexual harassment, it's fine.

CIA field agents hook up all the time and some times get married.

ABC's Agents of SHIELD website has totally settled the debate over what happened between Ward and May once and for all. They have the final scene from this past week's show up, along with the description:

Ward and May Hook Up

Ward turns down Skye and ends up with May.

After the Berserker Staff unlocks Ward's worst memory, Skye tries to comfort him, but he winds up heading into Agent May's room instead.

"Ward and May Hook Up" leaves no room for doubt. Boots were knocked, uglies got bumped, deeds were done. Rewatch the end of The Hub and you will notice now that Ward and May exchanged a significant glance after the rescue, as well as the fact that she was so nervous about him and Fitz that she was calming herself with Tai Chi. (Ming-Na Wen even said that May was exercising because she was upset.)

I worked for the government and people in my department dated and married each other all the time. As long as they acted in a professional manner while on the job it was never a problem. The few idiots who were into harassment were more of an issue, but they preyed upon the clients who came through the office rather than their coworkers because clients are helpless whereas colleagues would kick their asses and write them up for stepping out of line.

As long as it didn't happen on-screen,it's open to interpretation.:o

Nothing beats a mature cougar babe who can handle herself in a fight like Melinda May. May empathizes with and can understand Ward in ways that Skye cannot. They are a much better and more compatible match.

Ward/May OTP! I now dub this pairing MARD!

Exactly.
The only prudes who get worked up about this kind of thing are bureaucrats, lawyers, and perpetual virgins.

And anybody who objects to the depiction of "fraternization" on AOS might as well be prepared to be shocked and offended for the rest of the show, because it's obviously turning into a who-pairs-with-whom 90210-fest. There's even a whole thread in this forum devoted to that discussion.

The show's official website is the Word of God. It happened. :yay:

WAY is a way better ship name.

As someone with a thing for older women, i'm completely on board with Ward and May getting it in.

....And its pretty obvious May would be a total beast in bed.

Well, for the record I'm sure Ward & May did...something....but I'm not of the opinion that it was particularly appropriate that they did.

I mean,I wouldn't particularly want Coulson bedding Skye either.It just seems so....wrong.:oldrazz:

What's inappropriate about making whoopee? Doing the hibbity bibbity? The horizontal mambo? Making the beast with two backs?

The Skye/Coulson relationship is purely mentor/student and patriarchal. There's nothing romantic about it. Coulson and May, well there seemed to be something going on there. There was a suggestion they've gotten together in the past.

Liked this episode, one of the better ones.

I liked the Hulk series reference (mother lifting a car to save her baby)

I guess it can be seen that way. It's a story that's been around well before the Hulk series.

Personally, the reason why I find their hookup to be..somewhat puzzling at best, is because there were no previous signs or indications that they were attracted to each other in that way and that them just suddenly deciding to spend a night together was so out of the blue.

I mean not that I ship them personally, but Ward and skye have at least shown signs of being attracted to each other, so if they were to have hooked up, it wouldn't feel so sudden.

Yep,agreed.

Isn't that the point of hooking up? There's nothing there to build a relationship on. Just "You're hot, I'm hot. I got **** to work out, you got **** to work out. Let's go a couple'a rounds." I think what's funny is Ward will be the only person thinking about it afterwards.

What'll be even funnier is if May did this with a chunk of SHIELD already and Fitz feels left out.

Yeah, I keep forgetting that this younger generation has gotten uncharacteristically more prudish, in general, post-AIDS. They don't remember that casual sex used to be a "thing" in my (May's) generation.

(Incidentally, Brett Dalton is 31. Ming-NaWen is almost 20 years older than him. Sink them claws, cougar mama.)

My favorite part of this here is how the internet is sometimes like, "no one whose 30 could convincingly pull off a superheroine! Eww, they're so old!" plus people generally seem to have an issue with stronger female roles so I kind of expected a largely negative reaction to this turn of events.

Nice to see everyone's is pretty much all, "Yeah, you hit that, May!"
