So 2 week break. Looks like next ep will finally develop Fitz-Simmons more.

So... Skye takes time in the middle of her "double reverse mole" act to knock boots, just so we can get another shot of her body? Yeah. This show is starting to be just damned insulting to my intelligence.
:D how did they insult your intelligence.....whoa floating people in two weeks!

Were those Project Pegasus emblems on the bodies in the preview?

I can safely say that this show has found its footing. I liked both the pilot and the second episode, but the last 3 have been simply great.

That was gratuitous but the episode as a whole was very good. There wasn't any reason for the booty call with Scruffy when May could have busted in there before any clothes came off (except for Scruff's disappearing/reappearing shirt). I do wish the lovebirds had resisted arrest and got a justified beat-down from May, but oh well.

Maybe i'm reaching but Coulson's one punch knochout of that dude lends credence to the robot theory. He didn't even put that much force behind the punch but he completely knocked that dude out cold. Either thats just some bad fight choreography or Coulsons really packing a wallop in his fists.

Also, awake earlier, and with more energy to spare. We gonna see him and May lay down the mat?

Maybe a synthesoid, human made of artificial materials(the Vision) albeit ones with normal coloring. If he was a robot wouldn't the woman with the eye from last week have noticed?

I missed a bit...

I thought that the guy's platelets or something kept him from being unstable....

The episode all in all was pretty good but man, the Skye-Miles scenes weren't great to say the least. There's just gotta be better actors out there than that dude.

Human Torch is 10?I'm flattered!:woot:

Well, between this week and last,I'm guessing the "family friendly" label is discarded.(Was a bit quicker than expected, actually.)

This show never fails to seriously bore me for the first 20 minutes every week, only to thrill me beyond belief for the next 20.It's a good thing to end with a bang, but I wish it was a bit more evened out.

Coulson was really great this week.He had some great lines."I love these things." "You don't do comforting, either" and "Uh,they gave him a name.":woot: all great stuff.

Looking forward to learning more about Skye. With the Evil scientist babe dead,I guess we'll be heading up the food chain for an actual criminal "boss"?

8/10

y the way, the doctor who got incinerated just showed up on Supernatural. lol..screwed with my head for a second there

I can't remember but what was the name that the girl asked the Guy in jail to contact? Something with a C? What did that mean?

The Clairvoyant. I.e., a person who can tell the future. And it just happens to be mentioned one week after May chides Skye for believing in the possibility of ESP ("no credible studies"). :-D

Also, The Clairvoyant doesn't like to be touched.

Whoa, this episode was amazing, really really enjoyed it! Lots of things to think and go on about:

-The actress who played the titular Girl in the Flower Dress was awesome. Her smooth inviting voice, darker true motives, how she played poor scorch like a fiddle. Really want to see more of her

-Felt so damn bad for Scorch. I liked him and felt for him. In a crazy world like this it's even harder to feel special. The guy just wanted to entertain and make people feel wonder, but then being batted around made him go sour. :/ I liked his performance as well.

-"Oh crap....they gave him a name..." :woot:

- Good lord, I didn't realize the show could show off such a graphic death. Excellent special fx!

-Coulson's quiet rage....wow. Dang, it's a bit scary to see the sun just disappear out of his eye and feel this coldness.

-Post credits scene is making me speculate like crazy, hmmm clairvoyant, eh?

-Skye is in the dog house majorly, ouuuch

I also found some parts of the episode hard to follow... what happened with the guy after they knocked him out in the training room? He started getting burned and stuff and they mentioned something about platelets? What were they trying to do after they removed the platelets? Maybe it was because I was only half watched during the second half due to studying and what not.

Two week break is disappointing, but I think I'll live. Next episode looks really weird. I guess they're going for a Halloween special vibe? Even though it'll air after Halloween. Anyways, I really feel like we're going to start delving into named Marvel characters soon. They're starting small with the obscure ones, but I'm sure it'll grow.

On a side note, what happened with the first episode guy? He completely fell off of the map. Is he going to become a hero or a SHIELD agent or a villain or what?

They cured that First guy the same way Stark cured Pepper of extremis

Really just gets better and better. They are starting to run on all cylinders now. Bummed on a two week break, can't wait for more Marvel!

Here's my take on it (though I could, of course, be wrong)...

The platelet thing was the (scientifically infeasible, but whatevs) explanation for why his skin wasn't getting burned -- his platelets were heat-resistant, presumably allowing his body to instantly repair itself when it burned (essentially a healing factor against burning).

Apparently, the instability in Extremis is implied to be caused (at least in part?) by the body over-heating and damaging itself, so the idea is that these heat-resistant platelets could protect against that.

Essentially they harvested the platelets from his blood ("You said I had a gift!" "Yes, thank you for giving it to us."), likely to study them, and/or create an Extremis-stabilization serum from them. Once removed from his blood, his own healing factor was, if not completely removed, at least greatly diminished, therefore his powers were able to damage him.

EDIT: I feel like they really wanted to say that this guy was a mutant, but couldn't. They made a point several times of mentioning they didn't know where his powers came from, and even pointed out once that he lived near a nuclear power plant. OTOH, that could just as easily be a red herring.

That was their way of saying he was a mutant :p heh, in the marvel wiki link posted on the other page, he's a really really obscure mutant character made by Dan Slott.
