To be fair, Ward has been quite the pyromaniac throughout the seasons, and especially this one. He burned down the family house when he was 15 with one of his brothers, likely Christian, inside, and did it again after escaping SHIELD's custody in season 2, this time killing Christian and his parents (presumably, we only see a news report on the subject, not really their bodies), tried to burn down the local market with Andrew inside and threatened to torch Malick's henchmen. He also did fulfill Hellfire's biggest story arc from the comics when he was revealed as a traitor to his team. So yeah, not really all that out of left field.

eh.. i really doubt Ward has "powers" at this point.. and severely doubt he's inhuman

^ Given all the Inhuman empowering going on right now, it's not out of the realm that Ward is powered up at some point, whether by his own accord or if it's forced upon him.

im saying i don't think he's an inhuman, or has powers at the moment we don't know about...

he can always receive abilities some way, later.

If what was found out and Hydra IS giving that Terrigin fish vitamins to people working at the ATCU then he can be with powers at some point without even knowing

no.. not really... you're forgetting the fact inhumans go into a stone cocoon. he'd remember that

and that people who ingest the fish pills don't have anything happen to them at all. If Ward is gonna get powered up, it won't be thru the fish pills.

He certainly doesn't, it'd be a disservice to the character if he had them all along or gained them off-screen. IF the show chooses to turn Ward into an enhanced the moment will be treated with just as much respect and reverence as Daisy's turning was last season, and I daresay it'll be out of a choice of his own rather than accidental Terrigenesis like Daisy was.

Ward was bossing it this week, him taking out Gideon's assassins and the plane scene were great. It's interesting that they have tied the Hydra plot into the Inhuman's stuff, I hope the show doesn't fully lose it's espionage roots.

I'm guessing the leader they are searching for is the Reaper figure that Jemma encountered.

I was skeptical of the Jemma & Fitz direction but it's growing on me and the scene in the lab with them this week was really good.

Bobbi's new Baton's are cool, I was disappointed by how quickly Dacascos new enhanced assassin went down like a chump from the insufferable Hunter though, after he started the scene so promisingly.

^ To be fair, it's not like he lost in a straight-up fist fight. He got distracted and was KO'd from behind.

Yes, just getting Inhuman powers does not give a new person fighting skills like Bobby, May or Hunter who practice every day.

Been reading he new Uncanny Inhumans comic book. They call people like Daisey UNHUMANS. First time I heard that, I missed the Terrigin books So I guess that's why lol

By people like Daisy, do you mean Inhumans they weren't transformed through terrigen?

Is Hydra trying to bring Red Skull back by using the monolith?

So I only Watched ep.1 of S3 and need to catch up for the rest. How is it going so far? Great, good, bad?

Apparently, HYDRA is an offshoot f a cult following an Inhuman trapped on the other side. Skull went off the deep end and took HYDRA with him, but the old dogs still around still believe in the original plan or whatever.

According to someone who watched that I asked anyway

Vartha, I'm also reading the new Uncanny book and also read the preceding Inhuman book -- both by Charles Soule -- and the term is "Nuhumans." And Mike the "in" versus "nu"human distinction is not terrigen, but whether the exposure to it was (1) controlled and prepped for ala the highly selective process employed by the Royal family; or (2) uncontrolled and not prepped for by those exposed via indiscriminate terrigen bombs with Daisy falling in this 2nd category.

I've been meaning to raise/remind all about this distinction because it motivates Lash in the comics. In particular, he has no problem with Inhumans groomed by the former process, and indeed he's a product of this process himself. But he considers the latter process a dilution and indeed pollution of the Inhuman race. His mission, again in the comics, is not to eliminate any and all who have been exposed to the terrigen bomb(s), but to retroactively apply the Royal family's highly selective criteria and weed out those who don't meet it. Most don't, but he's not wantonly wiping out Nuhumans. He wouldn't touch someone he considers worthy even if they were a product of the 2nd process with, again, Daisy as a possible example.

Lash in AOS has not articulated this distinction, and it likely doesn't apply at all. In AOS, he's also exposed via a variation of the second rather than first process. But Lash in AOS is downright inarticulate compared to the comics, and there's the possibility that the distinction still applies, but he's just not articulating it well.

BTW, AOS prompted me to get into these comics plus the Infinity, Inhumanity and Secret Warriors books during last season's mid-season break.

I know about NuHumans. I was trying to understand if there was a meaning for UnHumans (which, in retrospect, could have just been a typo). In the comics, there's a category of characters, like Daisy Johnson, who got their powers without going through terrigenesis. I was asking if they had a special designation.

I agree about AoS doing that. I actually got into Inhumans because of the announced movie, but I probably would have stopped after I read the Fantastic Four stories and the Marvel Knight run, but I went ahead and read Inhuman too. Secret Warriors is on my list as well.

Pretty careless for a guy you're trying to introduce as a threat though, usually you want to leave the impression that this new guy is unstoppable.

He was clearly a highly trained fighter as well.

Vague spoilers for 3x10:

Anything Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.? — Genesis
Remember when Skye transformed into an Inhuman and killed Tripp in the process? That’s nothing compared to what’s in store this year, according to Clark Gregg. “I would say that this midseason finale has two shocking twists and both of them are bigger than anything that happened in last season’s midseason finale,” he says.

I doubt it. Malick made it sound like Hydra really didn't need the Skull. BUT both the Monolith and Tesseract transport objects

i enjoy his enthusiasm and all but he speaks positively and with excitement avbout everything.
he also said last year that tripp lives, unless the twist is that tripp lives then perhaps his enthusiasm needs to be taken with a pinch of salt.

You misinterpreted that.
He was trying to start a campaign to have Tripp come back. Similar to what the fans did when his character was killed in Avengers.

3x10 description

A battle between Hydra and S.H.I.E.L.D. will change Coulson's world; Fitz and Coulson take a huge risk.
