Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Agents of SHIELD TV series for ABC - General Discussion - LEVEL 11 - Part 8

Well, the Secret Warriors are agents of SHIELD. More importantly, the show is evolving. I trust the writers not to lose track of the spy vs. spy elements since they didn't this season with Inhuman drama. And I doubt they'll lose track of the characters they worked so hard to create. But they can't get stuck in the status quo either. This is a new opportunity to explore - one drawn straight from the comics.

Naturally the story has to evolve and it means more of the Secret Warriors but I'm fine with the amount we got in this episode going forward, seeing them using their powers a few times in cool ways.

I don't feel bad for Gemma Simmons. Way to go Gemma. You freed Lash, and he murdered all the people SHIELD wanted to save. Those deaths are on Gemma Simmons' head, and she should be held responsible for freeing Lash. Quite frankly, I didn't feel bad for her at all the end. And now Lash is free again. Good job breaking it hero.

Pretty much everything bad that happened in this episode is because of Gemma Simmons.

I get the funny feeling you don't like Jemma Simmons?

If you really wanna blame someone for everything then how about Fitz? Think about it, if he hadn't have fiddled with the latch on the cage then Jemma wouldn't have been taken thus preventing most of the events of this season from happening...

Obviously, the end game of season 3 is the full formation of the Secret Warriors team (along with whatever else is planned), so the proto-team getting a chance to shine was a bit of a teaser.

it clearly is May's fault for putting that team together in the first place

I agree but my problem is that they are going to try and please everybody which is pretty much impossible. A lot of people wants to see more of the Secret Warriors and their powers but it means adding new characters and fleshing them out so we care about them. While doing that they still has to give the other characters that people already care about something to do. That is a tall task and either they are going to try and give everyone something in each episode (which will make them even more clustered than now) or they we give some a lot in one and then almost nothing in the next.

While it was kewl to see all the story lines come together this season, it wasn't that awesome while they were separate. The show shines when the team are working together not apart. I hope, moving forward, we get to see more of that. Fx Fitz and Simmons barely spoke to anyone else but each other this season.

I just hope that Fury comes back in Civil War and is the Director of SHIELD again. Coulson is so much more believable as the goofy "do the right thing at all costs" guy working under Fury than the cloak and dagger Director he is now. He is the one character I felt got worse after Winter Soldier.

Don't blame May. She only put the team together because Fury resurrected Coulson. And the only reason he did that is because Loki killed Coulson. But to be fair, the reason Loki's all evil and kills people is because of his daddy issues; all because Odin *****efather gets his jollies kidnapping baby Frost Giants.

So really, to summarise, Fitz not getting the girl was destined by Gods and centuries in the making.

That has to suck. The Allfather said you don't get laid... enjoy the internet, Fitz.

Or is it actually Odin's fault? He kidnapped Loki and raised him badly, resulting in him being an evil ********, resulting in him trying to take over the world and stabbing Coulson through the heart... Thus the need for May to put the team together....

Fitz will get his girl. :)

I have no doubt in that, especially after Jeff Bell explained the final scene with them.

but Odin's judgement was tainted because of constant attacks of Svartalfs while he was a child and how his own father, Bors, dealed with the situation. If it weren't for Malekith, Bors would have been a better father for Odin and Odin a better father for his sons, especially Loki. Who then wouldn't have killed Coulson.
So, it's all Malekith's fault

Good point. Blame Malekith.

Decent winter finale, although I thought Mack and the teams escape was a bit rushed. It'll be interesting to see how Jemma copes with what Lash does now that she's freed him.

I thought my dude Ward had bitten it for a minute, but then.....

Zombie Ward! :slash:

What's that nicotine patch stuck to her?

I dunno. I thought here earphones were just draped over the top of them. Maybe not.

It looks like one earbud is underneath the white patch, while the other is draped across her shoulder. So it's not entirely under, but it is partially under.

Until Fitz has to explain that he killed "Will"

She'll be upset that Will is dead, feel guilty that he died saving her but the fact that he died just as she went back will also alleviate some of the guilt since no matter how fast they found a way back, he would've been dead.

Jemma is a rational person. She'll understand (eventually) that Fitz had no choice. That wasn't Will anymore. It depends on how she handles the stages of grief.

First she'll be in denial, then the guilt sets in and perhaps when she reaches anger she'll lash out at Fitz but that will pass too and she'll apologize. Question is more if Fitz is going to grow a backbone and not settle for being a consolation price.

She looks lovely there...wish we could see a little more of her in that pic. That is some kind of patch underneath her ear plug.

Yes, that was not Will, but the entity possessing Will's body, still apparently, maintain Will's persona, mannerism, memories, and sense of being....I have to imagine the same will happen with Ward...Ward's personality, memories, knowledge, skill, mannerism, etc. will still be there.

Which means Brett just have play Ward with a slight twist so we know it isn't him. Fans of evil Ward will see him on the TV knowing it's not really him. I kinda feel bad for them although not at all for the Ward apologists.

lol was watching the Force Awakens red carpet coverage today and Clark was there. lol
